Totally underrated video.
In my opinion the first two sound too flat. Samson is lacking attack. 4 and 6 have too much attack. I like D70d and Beta 52A the most, closely followed by D112. However, in a drum kit or even band context I think the D112 would leave more room for other drums and instruments

after unpausing, I'll be damned if I didn't pick the mics I would've picked if I knew what they already were in that exact order.

and I'll be damned if most these people didn't cheat. sm57's just sound bomb on toms. Not kicks though. Which is weird. You'd think that what's good for one would be good for the other. I picked 2 and 3 dead last and wouldn't you know it. They're the cheapest jankiest mics on the list.
