I've just got my first set of drum mics for livestreaming (nothing as fancy as these). Not had a chance to use them yet and will only be starting out with two overheads and kick.
I just bought an Audix set of mics. They were pricey as a unit, reasonable individually, however they're super accurate and they have a zillion uses around my studio outside of the drums.
I know, people unfairly hate on them. It's purely based on brand-name chasing. I do live audio and still use a Mackie setup and it sounds great. Don't buy the hype before testing the limits of affordable options.
They're used in studios world wide for a huge range of applications. Thomas Lang mics his kit with them live and in the studio; That alone should say enough. I use other mics too. Edit: As for affordable, they were over 3k for what I selected and I got a discount. They're just the right tool for the job regardless of price.
After watching this a second time there is something I think should be mentioned; Do a quick search on SPL , mic types , and polar patterns. Don't go buying a set of mics and blowing out the capsules or ribbons if they can't take the SPL.

That would be more to do with mixing than drumming. Inform your self about gain staging, clipping and distortion. Then, look up a tutorial on your mixer. generally you want inputs as loud as possible w/o clipping. you want the gain to be balanced so theres no unwanted distortion. And adjust the levels as needed to have a fully audible kit.
Sure, it will record my toms AND my French horn, but will it be able to handle my kalimba and melodica? In all seriousness, those do sound great at a reasonable price (I assume somewhat higher in Canada?)
Any Small or large diaphragm condenser can be used for overheads, usually 2 bought as a matched pair. Small diaphragm cardioid is a good choice on a smaller room as it cuts back on cymbal wash. Or you can be like Alex Van Halen using all sm57 mics for close micing and overheads. Mics are used as overheads rather than being made for the purpose of.
I’m not allowed to use mics actually My parents make me use silencers. I am in a band though so I will check these mics out when we get in the studio and go live

I’m sold on the TG d70 for the bass but how would you compare beyerdynamic Tom and snare mics to Earthworks?
I'm a sweetwater fan I buy a lot of my heads from them.
