I've been using the DBD 14mm for a few months and I love it, immense control, power when needed, superb spin, drives land where you intend them to, the best part is, unlike some of the pro paddles like Hyperion CFS, the carbon fiber weave doesn't wear out quickly, tip : for Carbon Fiber surface, players must keep cleaning it with hand if you're playing outdoors, paddle erasers also can be used quarterly, this will keep the spin on your paddle as well as consistent grab of the ball when trying to dink or resets

I have the 14 mm DBD and I’m still getting used to it. Definitely worth taking for a test drive!

Got the 14 mm DBD this week. I have used it twice and I know I am going to really like it.

I tried 16mm dbd. Power, spin, control on drive was execellent. I felt the ball does not popoff as much when doing volleys and smashes may due to the stiffness of dbd

@jilly Love the review! mine should be coming in sometime this month im so excited! on note if you don't mind- On the specs towards the end, you list it as "Black Diamond" which Six Zero has another model called Black Diamond that is power oriented and fiberglass. anyways, great review, and you killed it at the Texas open, was a joy to see you play!

2:45 only thing is you called it the "black diamond" but this one is the double black diamond. The black diamond is the other model.
Also, I just got mine, I cannot wait to try it out.

My bad. Yes they are different paddles. Double Black is all I have tried.

@@jillybpickleball Try the black Diamond Power and compare with the VATIC 14mm for power. That would be great.

I tried that at the same time I tried a legacy. Thought the legacy had more of a trampoline feel then that. Liked it better then the legacy

I keep going back and forth on this and the Vatic Pro Flash 14mm and I just can't decide which to get. Watching your reviews, it looks like the Vatic is better for drives and resets, but the DBD is better for dinks. Does that about sum up the differences?

    • @jillybpickleball
      @jillybpickleball  9 месяцев назад

Yes that's probably right. I know Six Zero has some new paddles out now that I haven't tried, but my teammates Kelsey and Jaume are seeing a lot of success with them. Don't fret too much, no paddle lasts forever, so whichever one you pick, you'll have a lot of fun with. And many paddles can be adapted with lead tape in the right spots to fix any minor issues you may have with drives or dinks, so play around with the weighting as well.

  • @rmonsipapa

Was it the 14mm or 16mm? I have the 16 and it has crazy spin, nice balance and feel. Nice swing weight for quick hands, added a tad bit of weight for more plow through (power). Need more time to get my dinks in, still having an issue with a very tight grip from tennis.

Do you think the 14mm DBD would be good for doubles? Or is it too poppy ?

    • @tagman12

It’s great for doubles - I have both the 14 and 16. They are both wonderful. I play more with the 14

hard and laborious to measure. sorry. the equipment to measure doesn't exist yet as far as I know, so I'm going on feel.

@@jillybpickleball Many reviews on paddles include a measurement for spin rate. I assume if one has the skill level then the optimum could be achieved. Not sure what you mean the equipment to measure it doesn’t exist. Reviews include a measurement.

There are only 300 other paddles that look very similar, so dating it must make you pretty loose.
