    My brother ordered one and raved about it. So, of course I had to get one. I love the 6.0 DBD - mine is the 14mm Cherry Blossom and I added lead tape on the throat after using it for a few weeks. It has helped with stability. Love this paddle.

    i liked my DBD so much , I got a second one...threw 3g weights on each side and LOVE it...spin, power, control are just for my game......the tape helped the off center hits but didn't raise swing weight too much but raised twist weight so the paddle doesn't twist on off-center strikes....this paddle works for me perfectly..2x...lol

    Love my 6.0 DBD (16mm) and also, did NOT start w/ lead tape --- and eventually added lead tape at the 4o'clock/8'oclock positions as you did. For me it added some solid twist weight/stability without adding much perceived swing weight. Love it and highly recommend

    I have played with nothing but paddeltek and have their new tempest wave pro with ice carbon. This past indexed to give the DBD a try and the cherry blossom. First love the look of the paddle. More importantly is like a Cadillac not soft but plush and has plenty of power when you step on the gas. This thing just feels great. Sure there are more powerful paddles but this thing does everything you need it do. I can see switching to anything else for a long time. Thank Briones for the discount code. If you're on the fence jump off and get the DBD 16mm

    I got one about six weeks ago. Loved it. Got another a couple weeks later because I like two and the face texture felt more substantial. The first one was the white on black paddle and the second was the cherry face paddle. Strange. May not make a difference in my game but it is in my head.

    thanks for the review, been using my pre-ordermy DBD 6.0 from last year I have been playing with 2 to 3 times a week, but during snow-bird season, I have been using it every day this pas winter. I love my DBD, found it a bit longer adjusting time with it but it was all worth it. I love the mid court drive with all the a ton of TSpin and see it curl to the down side and as soon as the other side touches it it flies into the net with a surprise. Love them shots. The reverse flicks at the kitchen are gold with its speed and spin. My main concern is when do I swop for a one.. haha have a great day

    Great Great comprehensive review....I'm ready for my second "serious" paddle purchase...my first one was a Ronbus and I LOVE it! But now at 4.5, i need more power..but don't want to sacrifice my Spin & Reset touch... so this one sounds like it might fit the bill
    Question on the handle width... what are the pros and cons of a smaller versus bigger handle. I come from racquetball where smaller handles are better so you can get a tighter grip... but in p-ball I certainly know gripping the handle looser is better.
    If I had to choose a grip size blindly without demoing...what are the pros and cons of thicker vs thinner grip sizes in Pball?
    Also what are the pros/cons of the 16/14mm thickness...noooo idea what "feature/benefits" i should be looking for when comparing those two thicknesses!

    • @BrionesPickleball
      @BrionesPickleball  9 месяцев назад +2

      14 will have a tad more pop, but a little bit less control. You’re right about the grip, although I really believe it comes down to preference. I’ve seen pros that like to have a thicker grip, and also the opposite with some liking a thinner grip.

    I borrowed one while on a trip out of state recently. I played against the guy who loaned me his paddle. He tried to take it back, mid-game because I was playing so well with it. It just felt right. I ordered one last week and am waiting for it to arrive. Great sweet spot. Feels soft enough for easy drops and dinks but plenty of power. Note: I've been playing with Legacy Pro (which I love) for nearly a year now. The DBD just FEELS like a better fit for the game I'm playing now.

    I got the DbD 16mm over the summer. This review holds true to all the other reviews. It's a solid balanced paddle you can just pick up and play with. I never had quality issues but i play once a week for 2 hours. The pink graphics are really cool. Picking it up, its pretty light but feels very solid in-hand. It shines for 3rd shot drops and drives. Spin is as good as the rest. I wish it was poppier but maybe its just me. Sweetspot is nice but you notice mishits like any paddle. I had never used lead tape but when I up/sidegraded to the DbD i decided to try it on my Electrum E, with the expectation that it might be fun but the DbD would be the primary paddle. I used Collin Johns' setup off his insta (he uses 6 inches of tape and Ben uses 5 inches, both using 2 OZ.) The E now feels amazing. Tons more power/stability but it retains the softness/dwelltime it had before. I put a similar setup on the DbD with 1 OZ strips on the throat corners and lower side. (i didn't want to put as much lead on it as the E because i wanted to keep it lighter and retain more of its out-of-the-box qualities.) This improved the power and added stability except now im really torn between the E and DbD. I guess for me the E is 'safer' but i feel that I can do more with the DbD as I get used to it... (So now I feel like that meme where im walking with the DbD but im checking out the new Gearbox and the DbD is staring at me in disgust.)

    Only gripe for me is the grip is too small at 4.25 inches. I had to buy some tennis shrink wrap along with an overgrip to make it 4.5 inches. I used to buy 4.75 grip on the tennis racket and shaved the handle down a tiny bit. I find the larger grip put less tension on the carpal tunnel and tennis elbow pain. I tend to squeeze the larger grip less since I feel the larger grip gives me more control. Sounds quite weird but it works for me.

    Hi
    Did you try the single black diamond?
    Is your Double a 16mm?
    Thanks

      Yes, and yes. The double black diamond is the go-to.

      I’ve got the single as well. More power, spin. and pop at the sacrifice of the net game. I’m probably a 3.5 and find it very hard to drop the ball in the kitchen, reset and hit below the net with it. If you can generate your own power the DBD will work better for you. If you feel you need to convince someone that need eye protection, tag them with the single once or twice.

      I have both, currently using Single a lot, Maybe I’m old and weak 😢,
      However, SBD has settled down finally and is good.

    You noticed some core crushing after only approx 100 hrs of play?? That's NOT good!!!! Isn't that an issue?

    • @BrionesPickleball
      @BrionesPickleball  7 месяцев назад +1

      Lol he started to notice it a little bit, and hits the ball harder than 99% of players.
      If you’re below a 4.5, it will most likely take a long time for that to happen

    I can’t believe people play pickleball that are under 65. So many better things to do in the world. I surfed and went scuba diving in the last 2 days. To chase a whiffleball around is just going to be a disappointment to your family….kids, grandkids, parents and grandparents. Nobody says I’m going to raise a pickleball player. I also have a huge real estate development business and I became fluent in a second language….Russian.

      So many better things to do…… like watch reviews on equipment for a sport you are never going to play….. then leave a comment on it….. then comment on the comments, ya you seem pretty busy.
