Last Friday, we attempted to film trains at Rochelle Railroad Park along the Union Pacific and BNSF. Unfortunately, we didn’t meet the minimum of 10 trains to make a railfanning video out of it. That being said, it’s been decided to not post a video from the trains we filmed at Rochelle and will be shared at a later date in a future video. We hope to try again later this summer instead. In other news, instead of canceling our plans entirely, we headed out to the BNSF in Hinsdale, Illinois and we had much better luck out there. Enjoy the video!

I found this video of your railfanning trip to Hinsdale, Illinois on 24 March 2024 very enjoyable, Andrew! You and the crew captured a lot of trains that day. I am surprised that you had a problem filming at Rochelle Railroad Park when you went there. I would think that you would have seen more than ten trains at Rochelle. Was there maintenance work being done on wither the BNSF tracks or the Union Pacific tracks that caused the lack of trains?

Thanks for watching! There was some maintenance work when we were in Rochelle but even then, there wasn't much rail traffic once track construction was finished. -Andrew Mangalindan
