Former Ethiopian Diplomat Blasts TPLF as Tools of Imperialism in Horn of Africa

  • As the situation in Ethiopia continues to escalate, the war over narratives is in full force. Who are the good guys and who are the bad guys? Is it even that black and white? Is the TPLF fighting a war for liberation of the Tigrayan people against a cruel government or is it executing a war of aggression to regain power after losing it? And what should we make of recent developments such as the Oromo Liberation Front joining the TPLF in its fight against the state? What does it all mean for the greater Horn region?
    To help make sense of all of this and place it in its proper historical context, Rania Khalek was joined by Mohamed Hassan, who served as an Ethiopian diplomat in the 1990s before resigning in protest of the TPLF. He was also a member of the Ethiopian student movement in the 1970s. And he just returned from a visit to Ethiopia and Eritrea.

Please Dr. Abiy Mr. Muhammad maybe a humble person he is not going to ask for a position but for Ethiopian Government not to use his knowledge is mind boggling. I look forward to see him educate our government, I mean for the whole horn of Africa. Mr. Muhammad, I wisha you a long, long life.

Dont be fooled and naive because he is talking bad things about TPLF. We all want TPLF to be destroyed once and for all. But using that he is inserting some things that are very misleading fo the international community. When the war is over Abiy most certainly will turn against Amharas and will start his propaganda. Mark my word. There is reason why they don't want amharas to organize even in the mixed of all this when Amharas are at the forefront of the war losing their lives for their country. You do realize he is painting Amharas as villains in ethiopias history? You need to listen and analyze every word and sentence he is saying. I know TPLF needs to be gone and I know there is a lot western pressure on the government that is super biased. But you need to be wary of people like these who slip in and start making statements like 'Ethiopia is constructed 200 years ago after tewodros'. Paraphrasing of course.

    • @ZionCrafter
      @ZionCrafter 2 года назад +5

      @@dalloll yes I wouldn’t say I agreed with every single assertion that he made. Especially the one you just raised. However his analysis of the TPLF was spot on and I really like his perspective on the future of the Horn and frankly that’s the most important thing. Peace and regional trade and co-operation is the only way that the horn can quickly elevate its people and make efficient use of its resources. The fact that his historical framing of Amharas (of which I am a proud member) is flawed but not enough to detract from the wider and more important points…TPLF must go and regional countries must learn to work together, trade together and rapidly grow together.

    • @dalloll
      @dalloll 2 года назад +2

      @@ZionCrafter I do love to look the other way and pretend all is good if this was the only statement in regards to this. The so called experts either foreigners or insiders who are backing up Abiy are consistently making the same statement and creating the same narrative. Its worrying to me because it tells me there is some broader plan when the TPLF is dealt with properly. Considering it with the fact that there is a force that is constantly preventing amhara from organizing or even addressing properly the inhuman conditions the people go through is a prove to me there is a major plan. There is a systematic plan to make the region as corrupt as possible and politically challenged. I personally dont think the war will be over for at least 5 years. That is a major set back for the people of Amhara and to some level Afar. Why the need to cease fire when we were ohh n attacking mode and close to destroying TPLF?

    • @ZionCrafter
      @ZionCrafter 2 года назад +2

      @@dalloll it’s all speculation at this point. In times of conflict truth becomes very difficult to identify. I have noticed a pattern of behaviour with Abiy, where he tends to allow his opponents to show there true colours (even if it costs lives and property) and then he aggressively clamps down once the public have seen them for what they are (he did that with Jawar too). In this case I think he calculated that the attack on the northern command would be enough for the international community to support his response in Tigray but he was wrong. So to ceasefire and withdraw and allow the TPLF to attack Amhara and Afar he has exposed them for who they are. Now the next move to finish them will likely be decisive. Personally I think his decision to do a full scale attack in Tigray and to invite Eritrean troops was wrong. It risks too many innocent peoples lives in Tigray and consequently galvanises Tegaru to support the TPLF. A simple, covert operation would have been far far better.

I remember when my friends & I used to argue over who has the most credible & unbiased media . I used to tell them it was American news outlets. Now I will never trust or even bother to findout what has been said on American major news outlets. More specifically , NewYork times, Washington Post , CNN etc... ,. I personally had big respect for CNN & NewYork times . But now I witnessed & it was a prove to me that , Even Giant news outlets like Washington post & NewYork times has no freedom lol . Clearly Government officials tell them what to say ,how to say & when to say it 😁.

    Something has occured to me. Little knowledge and Education. With self serving ambitions. Seems to be a trait that all who seek power have. And it is always bad for those under their sway and influence. So it come down to the sage old adage. A little knowledge in the hands of a would be leadership, is always bad for the whole. Which mean that the collective has less knowledge. Which allows the would be leadership to use their little knowledge. To control and impose rulership. Which is why I call for all people to get well rounded education. That is comprehensive and proactive. To think critically and see through the haze of the con artist, who would be kings.
