Great video again brother. I have the full vnd kit for my fx3. I added a right side tilta nano grip and mirage adapter and control it with a hard line. My left nano grip controls my follow focus. I reserve my follow focus wheel and mirage wheel for someone else pulling focus. But I love my mirage.
The only catch is it's not a 114mm matte box, so lenses with internal thread of 95mm like Sony 200-600mm can't be used here except if you make a hack and fabricate a 95mm to 95mm extender, then you "might" introduce vingetting. Tilta said that they're working on a larger version of this one, so we'll see.
UPDATE! Tilta has did it! They listened and made a 95mm extender adapter under the name MB-T16-95 which you only find in AliExpress and some other places, but not their official US website (not sure why). Now I think I'm gonna get this beauty!
Great, I also follow you on IG! 😄We don't have a dealer here and can only buy it on Amazon haha, I hope I can post the complete set of configuration and purchase links next time, I made a difficult choice when choosing its accessories😂
@@creativegreats6924 the website puts a warning about the vignetting. Basically to use both the variable ND anddd another Vaxis circular 95mm filter, you need an adapter from tilta that adds an extra 2 slots for filters, which makes it longer, which brings vignetting all the way to clearly visible at 24mm
@@creativegreats6924 this is a review on tiltas website, also saw another video with the same claim. “4/5 stars. Nice product for most lenses I really like the system, and I find it to work really great with most of my lenses. I am a bit disappointed that you cannot use the mat box with lenses wider than 18 mm on FF. I use the Sony a7s3 with the 16-35 mm f/2.8 and there is an unusable amount of vignetting on the 16 - 18mm end even when using the active stabilising mode on the camera. ***Iwas even more surprised when I got the stackable filter circular filter tray and found that you cannot use this with wider lenses than 35mm without huge vignetting.*** I think Tilta should inform buyers of this on their page, as this probably would keep me from buying this as I use it one the wide end a lot. I also wish that the batteries in the VND module would charge when inserting a USB cable. That would be very convenient for my use case. Other than this it's a great product.”
Its a great design of mattebox at a good price (compared to its VND compeditors). I have been looking to get one for some time now. Solid video review!
WARNING - I got got caught. Don’t be the next one. The additional 95mm stackable circular filter tray is not for Full Frame Cameras like the SONY A7s, A7, Fx3 that mostly everyone of us have (and probably every other full frame cameras too I guess), as the edges will get in the frame and cause massive vignietting at 35mm and wider. ALSO. For those who have invested in the most expensive model with the motorized VND, guess what? You will be rewarded by not being able to use the additional circular filter tray with the motor on. You will have to waist valuable time unscrewing the motor (So definitely not on a wedding). Forger about the VND if you have the additional circular filter tray extension on. It will not go down completely. So it’s one or the other, not both at the same time. ONE MORE THING. BE AWARE. I don’t know if it’s my unit only but the battery in the motor attached to the VND unit will deplete completely overnight if it stays in. Even if turned off. I have no idea why. And the batteries take an eternity to charge. So your day of shooting might be ruined if you were planing on using the motorized VND the next morning. On the other hand, the battery in the remote control will keep its charge when turned off. At over 1000 Canadian dollars I was expecting nothing but the very best. I’ve been left on my appetite.
Which size for the tiffen black pro mist would fit ? 4* 5.65 ? Or is there another brand you recommend that would fit I rather just keep the vnd in the slot and put a 4*5.65 filter at the front instead of extending out the length of the box You also mentioned Nisi.
Great video!
Jasson!yeah-splendid uploading. 🤓
When you shoot with zoom lenses it shows in the edges if you have a second tray
Same with under 35mm, so you end up having to screw on before the matte box or use matte box filters.
So love your videos, great content man. Thank you
Excellent review, thank you
Great review and AWESOME content mate. Keep them coming.
awesome review man im definitely gonna get this for my A7iv
Can it be used with vnd and cpl filters at the same time?

I’ve read the vignetting is bad at 25mm and wider. Have you verified that?

Can your control anything using the tilta handle ?
Just wish the vignetting wasn’t so bad when using the Variable ND + any other Vaxis circular filter (eg mist etc)
Why does it vignette?
