Word. I think I was eight the first time I played through LttP and got through the first Agahnim battle. I was so pissed that I beat "the last boss" in a Zelda game and it wasn't Ganon AGAIN. (Zelda II was a bit of a disappointment.) The Dark World existing and being a whole thing I had to beat just blew my tiny child mind.

It's so silly, but as I hear this more and more I hear nothing but "triumph" and "hope" in this song. It's supposed to be the dark world, but the moment you get there as Link, you're there to save the day. This thing kicks up, and it's honestly better than the traditional Zelda/Link overworld theme. This is like.. "Ok.. I'm here, I'm determined, I'm going to save the realm." I need this theme song playing in the back of my mind 24/7 for the rest of my life, because it WILL make me become a hero. It's really a deep-seeded desire/feeling of mine to feel that way, it has helped me succeed in life to a great degree. I think everyone needs a theme-song, this one is going to be mine. If you'd like to borrow it, though, you are welcome to it. ;)
oh dude. totally. zelda may be a kids game, but its theme of heroism is timeless. i think thats why so many of us love the game, we can achieve heroic acts that we cant do in our real world. we go on an adventure too and overcome incredible obstacles. its honestly a masterpiece.
Like a goron punch in the stomach, that orchestral SLAMS hard after a record-length-chills-ramp up. To me, this is the TLoZ main theme, or at least, could very easily be. It encapsulates the entire feeling the franchise is still giving us, from dangerously going alone to braving the Wilds.
I could definitely imagine this playing in a future zelda movie just before the climax. Link mounts Epona, now with a new found power that prepares him for the fight ahead. He rides off towards the castle with a determined, and stoic expression on his face; ready to battle Ganon, rescue Zelda, and save all of Hyrule.
Standing on that pyramid when Hyrule turned into the Dark World as a kid was completely shocking. I felt like I just made a giant step into something literally otherworldly

As the music builds up, Link gets closer and closer to the bridge; and then he kicks off from the ground, and the music pauses, and the audience holds their breath, as Epona soars over the ravine with a hopeful whinny; and then, her hooves touch the ground on the other side, and the valiant fanfare begins as Link rides off to continue his quest.

Appearing atop the Golden Pyramid in the Dark World after vanquishing the Wizard and hearing this song for the first time was so fucking epic that every time i hear this song now I think of that moment of awe as I entered a whole new world of adventure!
If Nintendo ever endorses a movie based on the Imprisoning War, it should use this track for the opening credits. At 0:35, that's when the title will EXPLODE onto the screen, sword/shield and all. The Legend of Zelda *THE IMPRISONING WAR*
And then for the intro, a flyby of the Hyrule map as everything is going on (a la Game of Thrones): Ganondorf emerging from a burning field with his minions, and as he walks towards Hyrule Castle, things wither and die in his path, the pyramid emerges and the castle crumbles. The Triforce slowly turns black along with the sky and sun as he takes his throne. However, the ruins of the castle feature art depicting the failure of Link with the Master Sword and Zelda at his side.
@@GreatMewtwo "Triumph"? The Imprisoning War only happened because Link _lost_ against Ganon. The pre-title sequence should be Ganon killing Link during the final battle in Ocarina of Time before the Seven Sages trap him inside the Sacred Realm. Then after the opening credits, it fast forwards many years later to a somewhat peaceful Hyrule, where everything is lush and green again...until evil begins to fester once more. And that's where the plot kicks off.
this made me think, it would be cool if when Link is in the dark world he finds some regular demon statue that is cracked, and inside it is hidden a dark world version of the master sword, maybe not an 'evil' master sword, but one that is all battered up yet actually more powerful, like a traumatized master sword that rejects you at first, a master sword left from another older timeline. sorry that was random but thanks for giving me the idea

Oscar Toft It may not be the best, but it's still many people's favourite and that should be respected. I love both; Ocarina holds a more special place in my heart, but you can't really deny that ALTP has better design and has aged more gracefully. However Ocarina is still my favourite.
I saw this live, and it sent shivers down my spine. Much like every other piece of music they played. Every Zelda fan needs to go to the symphony if it's in their home town.
