  • Embarking on the journey of flux core welding can be daunting, especially when visibility becomes a challenge. Just like many beginners, I faced disasters until I discovered a game-changing tip. Say goodbye to frustration by removing the gas nozzle! With flux core welding, shielding gas containment is unnecessary as the flux runs through the wire's center. By ditching the nozzle, you gain clear visibility of the wire stick out, transforming your welding experience. Dive into the world of flawless welds with this simple yet powerful technique!"

Hey here in Texas I had that exact problem. I found a new cover for the tip that is just for flux core welding. It covers all but the last quarter inch or so of the tip keeping trash out of the threads and gas ports. While giving full view of wire and weld seam.

Gass less flux core wire you can remove the nozzle. There is two kinds of flux inner shield and outer shield. Outer shield requires shielding gas or like hard wire it will burn in atmospheric gas giving porosity.

Mad respect for what you're doing Pete. Caught the welding bug recently and found your channel and man, I can't tell you enough how bracing you and your videos truly are. The sheer volume and breadth of your content is immpressive enough Pete, but it's the unprocessed, uncooked, utilitarian delivery; devoid of any hint of pretense that's really just tonic for me dude.
Having just scratched the surface here I've yet to truly appreciate the signifigance of all your labors Pete, but I'll go ahead and thank you now for making that journey even a possibility. Definitely on the top list of, "coolest uncles ever in the history of uncles ".

Hey Pete! If you ever had any merch, a shirt with a cartoon sketch of you welding something, making a nice big arc/word bubble saying, "G'day guys! Let's stick shit together!
It would be a BIG hit in my opinion. I drop in now and again and always enjoy when I do. I could definitely have a beer with ya!😁👌👍👊💪🤙
