    My suggestion for step 1.... Always start with clean metal. Mill scale, rust, paint, etc is no good.

    I have found using a small fan to blow the smoke away helps you see the puddle and where you are going

    Some additional tips.... Use a flux nozzle. 15 degrees off vertical is generally a good angle.

    Hi, when i am done welding can i leave the wire in the line, or should i removed the wire and store it until i use it again?

    Hey Pete what do you think of Plasma Cutters with built-in air compressors? Ineffective heaps of junk or something worth considering?

      They are quite expensive compared to without compressor. Might review 1 mate .

      @@petestools Okay I got a Bossweld M100 Flux Core Arc Welder,gloves and wire from Bunnings Warehouse and the Auto Darkening Helmet from TopMaq and it's a pretty decent welder for the price.

    Stick out doesn’t matter with flux core welding.

      If its to long will burn the wire in half before you will weld .
