Probably had driveshafts but on the Ford's the 4wd hubs are vacuum actuated. If they don't lock you can lock them in manually unless you've covered the hubs up with stupid shiney wheels.
It's not the truck itself; stop the self glorified toyota bs; it's the tires.... and if you have loose sand , all you need to do is air down to begin with at about half of it's recommended psi and your float over the sand.
Now im wondering if it's even worth airing down the tires on that F450? tires so stiff being F or G class as i know E class dont flex ss much as an C or D rated tire.
It costs a lot of money to make your truck that bad off-road. I live very close to this spot and drive my Subaru on that beach several times each week. It’s never even been close to stuck.

What good would it do to air down a tire that has no sidewall? Them tires are only good for the mall parking lot.

All rim, no tire. When on sand you need to air down, most of these trucks have very little side wall. Mall crawlers on the beach.

Sand requires flotation, and these stupid tires don’t float. They also need to air down, but you can air down a tire that doesn’t have a sidewall.
