No, the vent tube would not be submerged in this situation. The rear half of the frame would have to be totally submerged and as it is, only the very ends of the frame are submerged.
Maybe f-250 guy is the only guy at the ramp that is aware of the fact he can't back up a trailer. Not a money thing but this way is less embarrassing for him 🤣🤣🤣
I'd go to the bottom of the center caps on the wheels and that is it. The vent for the rear end is awfully close to being submerged on this one, and it looks like a recipe for how to have your tailgate rot out in a hurry.

I live in Hawaii and have a 26 foot with twin Yamaha 150 hp. I have never seen so many inexperienced boaters as you show trying to launch and retrieve their boats. No wonder why we end up having to take these eight hour Coast Guard video exams. I never use the steering wheel docking or loading the boat on trailer, I have twin engines. Steer your boat with your throttles! You master this and you will always get your boat home if you lose steering. Never completely submerge your center trailer boards, that's what will center your boat on the trailer. Drive your boat onto the trailer, allow the center boards to knock you in the groove and be patient. Once in the groove, steadily add power until the boat begins to move up the trailer. Only add additional power to maintain forward moment as needed (never floor it!!) until you gently bump the roller on your wench. When hitting the roller maintain throttle to hold it on the roller and slowly back the power off. Boom bada bing!! Alittle patient practice and it will make your life easy. I launch this boat all the time by myself and do not tie up the dock. Before you launch decide which dock you are going to tie to and get your bumpers and lines rigged. Never launch (especially at low tide) with a two wheel drive. I have an F350 4x4 that I clutch in 1st gear and brake the boat down the ramp (my boat weighs more than the truck with no trailer brakes as they don't lie salt water) in 4x4 until I see the rear of the boat float. Get out of truck unhook boat from trailer (front portion of trailer will keep boat from floating away), get on boat lower and start engines, check engines that they are pissing water, staighten engines, put both engines in reverse and give a burst of power to pull boat off trailer. Drive trailer to the chosen dock and tie off, then go park trailer. Tada! Common sense goes along way. DO NOT TIE UP THE DOCK SPACE! HELP OTHERS AND BE CURTIOUS! Aloha.......................
I was at a ramp one day, and saw a guy launching his boat. He had forgotten a strap that went all the way across the stern of his boat and hooked on both sides of his trailer. he backed it up 3 or 4 times, slamming it harder each time. Couldn't figure why it wasn't floating off his trailer. When I told him he left his strap on, he got mad at *me* lol.
Or even a trailer. I park my boat trailer over a lawn sprinkler every time after I launch or retrieve my boat and let it hose the salt water off of all of it. Makes the springs last a lot longer.
That guy with the SuperDuty totally could afford a trailer if he owns that truck but would rather "save money" buy destroying his differential by flooding it with saltwater ruining the fluid, in turn destroying the gearset. Plus the whole submerging the entire rearhalf of the truck in saltwater is great for rust prevention and really helps the brake calipers and electronic sensors do their job!
@@sleddarcheddar Agree a couple launches in salt water isn't anything compared to road salt for 3 or more months in the rest of the country. cant wash your truck when its 10 degrees outside for a couple months.

My ramp at my lake has a very shallow angle so you really have to dunk your truck in there. Caused 2,400 bucks in damage for new wheel hubs and my diff fluid was a milkshake. Can’t image what saltwater would do on top of that.
You got ripped off big time a solid rear axle shaft assembly (not wheel hubs) but you wouldn't of needed a new assembly just new bearings but even a brand new assembly would be tops 200 bucks each add gear oil and labor 800 bucks should of been what you spent. 7:30 was doing this for years in an old beater tacoma, maybe the truck was a hammy down. honestly if you're changing out the dif oil once or twice a year it's not really a big deal for the axle to be submerged for a minute or two. i sprayed my entire rear end with wd40 once a month and and change the dif oil every other month. no issues. im a cheap man with a cheap boat, no trailor. now i do have a trailor and it's the same thing with trailor hubs, still need to be greased.
It is fun to laugh at people at the boat ramp...that being said I am glad there was no one around filming me when I was 16 backing my first boat down or picking it up. One launch of mine included an unexpected swim to retrieve my boat.
Lots of places in that truck to trap saltwater and rot it out. But that only matters if you care. How much value do you put in your truck? That varies dramatically from person to person, and income level.
That would have been interesting to see. I doubt the dock is going to move, so either the rope tears the cleat off, or it pulls the entire boat off the trailer lol. I'm guessing its hooked to the winch still, so most likely tear the cleat free of the boat.
Not a problem for nutters. The breather on top of the rear axle will let the water in which will then mix with the lubricants and eventually ruin the seals and bearings in the axle hubs and diff if it's rear drive not to mention the CV joints if it's a four WDrive. Not to mention the parking brake cables and linkages.
