I stayed away from Klipsch for many years because so called audiophiles always talked bad about them. I finally got them and tried them out. I found what was longing for in Klipsch, and love them. I also love my lowly class d amp as well!

The complaint usually stems from the "brightness" associated with horns. They can be fatiguing... up close. But in a living room area I've found that not to be the case -- I have other Klipsch towers in my living room. As for the fatigue, I can relate, I have Klipsch's "The Fives" in my office and they are much closer to me than say if I were using them on a TV, i.e., using them in a living room setup. At first, I placed them in the location I had had old Klipsch bookshelf PC speakers and immediately all the complaints about horns being "too bright" came to my mind. Thankfully I have a large desk so now they're recessed and I've turned down the treble with Klipsch's Connect app.

Actually, they were right to a degree. Old klipsch with metal horns are painfully harsh to me. The model 1 of the RP600M had a bad crossover, so they were veiled and harsh to me. The RP Model II are a leap in anything that preceded it. So are the heresy and forte IV. They are NOT harsh or shouty like older models. Klipsch keeps getting better, just in the past 2 years they have vastly improved. Meanwhile sonus faber released the lumina, which is garbage and expensive to boot. The tweeter is totally pathetic coming from an audio snob approved brand.

I love my Klipsch Synergy 7.1 Surround Sound system with my Yamaha 7.2 A/V receiver. I purchased them both June 19, 2010 and both are still going strong and sounding clean as the day of purchase. Knock on Wood! I use my Klipsch speaker system and Yamaha A/V receiver everyday to listen to music, watch movies, and to watch TV shows.

      What would you recommend
rp8000f klipsch with Yamaha amplifier 3080 or A6A model or Marantz sr7015 or model higher?
In my area my local audio shops people say that Maratnz is more musical and warm and I shouldn't pair Yamaha cuz is dynamic and plays more in high frequency which is not good for dynamic speaker like klipsch....
I always wanted to try Yamaha is a bit more expensive but I think has a better quality.

  • @MajorTendonitis
    @MajorTendonitis 11 дней назад

I was considering these speakers for my home gyms stereo system . I wasn’t overly concerned about base extension as I have a paradigm 12” sub for base duties . I was hoping to get some punchy midbase though .
I normally buy paradigm speakers ,but since they killed their studio line off I’m moving on . Not a huge fan of metal cones, but I listened to a lesser model of Klipsch with 6.5” drivers at our local audio store and it wasn’t bad from my brief test.
I have seen some reviewers claim the tweeter/ horn design is a little fussy and not great off axis though . I doubt it will be an issue as I really just want what I call party speakers , and not for critical listening

    Thanks again for your work.
You look very enthusiastic with these Klipsch.
I remember the Tannoy Ravolutions that you tested and still enjoyed after some time. if I remember correctly you loved the Tannoy Revolution xt8F.
What is your opinion between the Klipsch Reference II and the Tannoy Revolution?
Do you think replacing the Tannoys with the Klipschs would be a good idea?
The only annoying thing is the depth of the Klipsch, very bulky.
I own the Onkyo RZ50. It may not be one of the best stereo home theater amplifiers but what stereo home theater amplifiers are really good? In Hom-cinema is exceptional and I added an Onkyo A9130 in bypass for 200€. I can say that in stereo it is above the Marantz 8012 for only €200. So I have the best of both worlds.
    thanks again

Like the Audioholics tests, maybe the RP8000f mark II's horn is a bit hot (on purpose).
The original RP-8000F mark l's had better integration imho.
Good placement helps of course. The SVS sb 2000 pro, blends quite well for mine with the RP-8000 I's.

I have the original 8000F for a few years. They are very lively and I enjoy all genres of music on them. Maybe not jazz as much, since they are indeed bright. I tried EQ-ing the highs and high mids, but that kinda killed the air/liveliness, so I left them as they are.
The soundstage is really great, I hear sounds far out my window from time to time. I want to give SVS Ultra speakers a shot, I hope I won't lose a lot of soundstage compared to the Klipsch.

While I MUCH prefer the 8000FII to polk, I also consider the differences. Polk is for a softer, and more laid back presentation, almost the opposite. That being said? i use a 300 watt solid state amp and a tube pre amp. Audio bliss. Exceptionally realistic sound. Ive heard lots of speakers, owned very expensive speakers. I get bored quickly with soft, laid back speakers because they don't sound real at all. You can keep Vandersteen, Burchardt, Dynaudio, sonus faber, etc. zzzzz.

I have these speakers and they do lack bass, inevitably I removed the bottom driver from the xover and plug them into a crown xlr amp set to LP.
The bass coming out of them is crazy good.
The rest of the speaker is run by a Schiit Vidar

Klipsch movie sounds 8.5/10. Klipsch music sound 7/10 imo. I wouldn't say it sharp but the older Klipsch speakers before the rp series were considered sharp. Rp series aren't sharp at all and have pretty decent mid bass.

The GR research upgrade I did on the original 600Ms was amazing. Still an exciting awesome speaker to listen to but now with better balance in the mid-range and an unbelievable holographic deep soundstage. Easily some of the best money I spent in audio. I have a lot of fun doing it.

@@chelillingworth9466 Good to hear (Pun intended). I'm planning on some upgrades myself by simply buidling new crossovers with good quality parts and cabinet damping on a pair of old Warfedales which I'll then donate to my son. Hope to put my learnings from Danny to the test by using REW and a UMIK-1 mic to measure the response and even tweak the crossover design. Purely in the interest of Science !

At the End they are 600eur Made in China Speakers with cheapest Electronic Parts. My 2 way Compact weight only 10 Kg less and its 1/4 of the size + one Driver less, so Klipsch saves Money where they can specially the electronic parts. People always expect wonders out of an China Mass Produced Product

well, the frequency response graph is online for anyone to see .. so it seems Klipsch has lived up to its reputation of producing another inaccurate speaker ...

It's a hometheater speakers not a speaker for music for hometheater they a good most avrs will eq them and if you are spending that much money on towers you are likely to run dule subs then the mids lows and highs will end up pretty balanced with a little bit sparkle on highs I wouldn't buy a home theater speaker expecting a flat response no speaker is completely flat and rooms will play a big part on it that being said these are one of the more neutral then they have been in a long time for their hometheater speakers

In Germany, the RP 8000 II are unfortunately quite expensive, about 1900 euros a pair. You can definitely get better speakers for that money. I listened to the new RP and they didn't stand a chance against the Canton Vento 896.2 DC, which also cost less than 2000 Euros. I found even the affordable Heco Aurra 1000 much better in the mids and more defined in the bass.

    • @matejpodlesnik6538

Yeah, RP-8000F are really lacking mids and details below 100hz are missing. More I listen to them less I liked them. Unatural sounding.

Same here. Was looking for a pair of speakers from European manufacturers cause of the bashing of Klipsch. After listening to about ten of the popular Danish, English and German brands within 3000Eur segment, I got to the Rp 8000f. Mind blown for 1200 Eur.
Kind of tired of people bashing on the Klipsch liveliness... have you ever been to a concert? A room session? Well, it's the same. The rest just seemed muffled compared to Klipsch.
