I have never seen anyone make a rocky background like that I am obsessed with it I love it so much it looks away cooler than the silicon and eco earth combo im definitely gonna try and re create that whenever I make my first bioactive setup :)
I had to make the same call with my carpet chameleon. Chose to do a glass enclosure instead of a screen one for the sake of it being bioactive and keeping in humidity. The Exo Terras have pretty good ventilation, and he's thrived in it for the past two and a half years!
I love the fan idea. Been wanting to keep abronia and learn more about conservation efforts and how to help. Live in dry climate. It's difficult. How did your abronia do in the glass exo terra with the fan? Brilliant idea for dry climate. How did you adapt a computer fan for a regular outlet?
what i did with my Tegu's enclosure to get a rocky background was, i painted the spray foam with a thin watered down layer of grout. several layers of it actually, around 7 if i remember right. a layer, let it dry and repeat took awhile, then painted it with a pet safe water based paint to the colors i wanted and THEN a few layers of clear drylock. it feels like real rock and more durable because of the tegu's size.I was worried he'd tear out chunks of the foam if i didn't add the layers of grout. this wasn't my idea tho, there is a youtuber named Beckywheeler that does reptile backgrounds for people and she put up very instructive videos of the process. she hasn't done any videos in 10 years but they are still up if you want to try it out. tho THINK she used a type of varnish as a sealer where i used the drylock as a substitute.
Awesome video Tyler! Would have loved seeing you put the abronias into their new enclosure. They are looking so good and the enclosure turned out great! Well done! Hopefully they have some success breeding in the future for you! Keep us posted!
I had a weird dream that I found a retic on the floor and was like oh no the retic is out of its cage so I picked it up and took it to my parents room to show them and Tyler rugge was my dad, then my brother walked in and started snuggling the retics head so it opened its mouth to bite my brother, and in an attempt to stop it from biting my brothers face I got bit on the hand and had a bunch of flesh torn out but with no blood. And when I woke up my hand felt all weird.
Hello! You should do more vids about your crested gecko(s) or your bearded dragon. I have a bearded dragon and a crested gecko and I might be getting a new crested gecko and a corn snake soon!
That’s great! I lOVE crested geckos tho I have never had a bearded dragon. I would imagine they are pretty cool as well. I have three namib sand geckos and they are all incredibly awesome, they are really fun little guys and super easy for beginners. I definitely think they are not talked about as much because not a lot of people know about them. They’re really cool and kind of remind me of my Crested gecko maybe read some articles about them I think you’ll enjoy it.
fun fact, rabbit poop is one of the few manures you can add directly to your garden and shuch! which is part of why farming rabbits is common in farming :)
If I ever get one, (which I intend to), I'm probably gonna make my own terrarium like I did with my crestie, however I think id make the door completely screen in an otherwise glass enclosure, just so that way they're still getting the necessary ventilation, but the humidity and environment would be a lot more controlled
As a Lowe's employee, I'm so offended by the amount of Home Depot bucketing you are using. ;) I'm kidding. This is beautiful and I wish I could do this 😭
How is the glass tank working? I'm considering getting an abronia in the future, but I have some doubts about a screen cage. I live in Wisconsin and have a cat.
How have your abronias held up in the glass? I'm thinking of going with glass myself but it seems everyone on the forums have only tried screen. Lower end chams have somewhat similar care needs and can be successfully kept in screen top glass enclosures, so abronias being slightly less sensitive I feel would do fine. With everyone demonizing the idea on forums it would be reassuring knowing someone has succeeded.
My abronias have done really well! For me it’s just very difficult to keep humidity up indoors in a screen enclosure. If you’re worried about ventilation you can also put a small computer fan on the screen top to help circulate air. Or attach acrylic panels to the back/sides of a screen enclosure to help hold in some humidity while still leaving a good amount of ventilation
I just saw your latest video, congrats on the successful breeding! If there breeding then you must be doing something right. I'm glad you've had such great success and I plan to use a fan just like you do for air circulation. Do you keep your fan on all the time or on a timer?
I have been really wanting a reptile for a long time, and I have done so much research. I can’t decide if I want a crested gecko or a leopard gecko. What do you think is best for beginners?
Imo crested geckos. Except they are more boring honestly lol. If you do enough research about either and have the money for either then it's really completely up to you
I really love how the enclosure turned out! (* 0 *) thank you for the video! can anyone tell me were I can get abronia gramineas? I only found very few pages...but they won't send internationally.. :'3
I love how much effort you put into looking after your animals
Abronias are some of the coolest lizards tbh and the cage looks amaaaaazing
Have a nice day so glad you are back into the videos
Tyler: my abronias-
Me: no, your green dragons.
Abronias are so cute 🥺❤️
Yessssss they have such a cool color as well
You are my favorite youtuber

Where I live there is always so much humidity. Today it was 77% humidity out side!

Love the (what I assume are custom) paintings in the background of the outro!! They are sooo cute!
I love the details, and the lizard too

That`s intence
You can also use snake shed as A part of the bio active substrate
Omg that’s Gorgeous! I didn’t think it would turn out like that 😍😍😍

I love your videos
If you ever do this again, I used an old bread knife that has been repurposed as a cardboard cutting knife and it worked amazing bc it’s serrated
fun fact, rabbit poop is one of the few manures you can add directly to your garden and shuch! which is part of why farming rabbits is common in farming :)
Absolutely gorgeous 😍! Any update on how you feel between a glass enclosure vs a screen enclosure? I'm on the fence about it 🤔
Beautiful! This is giving me inspiration for my reptile tanks. I think it’s time for some upgrades for my cold blooded babies 😆
The best good bois
YASSS MORE VIDSS 🙌 love the vids and keep it up💕 all your fans enjoys it! 😊
I’ve never heard anyone sound so enthusiastic about rabbit poop 😂
It looks so nice! I love it!
Awesome video Tyler, love the new setup, keep up the amazing work
Tyler says, "Not really sure what I'm doing here..."
Me like, "That looks really freaking good!!!"
Love your videos and content!

I’m pretty sure you only have a few vids on parrots and I’m adopting a caique parrot. Can you make a video about parrots?? I love your vids😁

hi tylerrrr
🖤🖤
Me when he whipped out the rabbit poop 👁👄👁
😱.So cool!! 😎😎
oh to be a tiny abronia living in one of tyler’s bioactive enclosures
How much and how often do you feed your graminea? I've been thinking about getting one and that's one piece of information I can't find.
What will you do with the eggs when the abronias lay them? Do you have an incubator? Also, will you sell the babies?
I was eating while watching then you said "rabbit poop" and I lost my appetite a lil hahaha
I love red Mountain Dew. You have taste.
Hey I was thinking about getting one have has geckos long while back but have some salt water reef and some planted tanks is getting one a good idea

Does work for all species of abronia (specifically Abronia Lythrochila) ?
5 mins HI TYLER
Ur lizards are so cute!

Wow rock and roll nice pets
You have pets I did not know exactly exit
Hhhhhhhhh
Hhhhhh Bella saint
What fan did you use?
So where do I get one
Does anyone know what the best size hide is for an adult or sub-adult ball python. Mine needs a new hide but I am not sure on size.
I mean, I do have rabbits but I don’t know if I want to use their poop as fertiliser 😳 The tank looks great though!
😍😍❤
I really love how the enclosure turned out! (* 0 *)
thank you for the video!
can anyone tell me were I can get abronia gramineas?
