Hi Clint, glad to see Timon lepidus finally getting its dues! I have a six month old boy(?) who is shaping up to be very chill and absolutely awesome. It might be good to mention that, though prolific burrowers, they also appreciate climbing opportunities in the form of rock structures or wide branches. And the bigger the better for an enclosure- they're super active and will make use of every centimeter you provide, vertical and horizontal!
Emma B Take at least 2 times the size (with the tail) in length, 1 time in height and width. This lizard can be up to 70 cm. So minimal size is 140x70x70 (Lxlxh)
Its such a typical looking lizard. I like it. Kinda like a cartoons idea of what a lizard looks like. Also I love how every lizard "may be the best pet lizard ever" except for the green iguana and the savanna monitor.
Lacerta means lizard in Latin 😉. All lizards are named after family Lacertidae (or common lizards). They look the same as most European lizards (also lacertidae) but are ethe largest and most beautiful of all European lizards. Fantastic animals!
Clint's Reptiles It is! I didnt even know they existed but hes so beautiful and now I'm on a research binge lol. Also I love your videos!!! Gusgus is my favorite because I want an argentine tegu, ive been researching for like a year lol. You should do a diet video on him. Ps I love u
When I lived in Alaska I found a breeding pair at a petco for 80% they had been there as they'd been there so long. Stuck in a 20 gallon tank! So obviously I bought then and built a large maybe 150 gallon tank with 2ft of burrow space and they loved to be held, It was awesome.
I have had two 6 month old Lacertas, one is melanistic. I somehow won the reptile lottery, because mine are extreme social- to the point of being clingy. I would have never discovered them if it wasn’t for you, Clint. Thank you for introducing your viewers to such amazing creatures.
I feel like Clint's reaction to a lizard dropping its tail is to drop to his knees, cradle it, and dramatically yell, "Nooooooo!!" "Whyyyy?" is also acceptable
I did my master thesis on this species in the wild. Awesome and tough animal! I find it a bit hard to believe that air humidity is a big problem for them as they can live in pretty darn dry ares, as well as in quite humid ones (but don't take my word for granted on this, please). The only thing I truly don't think is correct in this video is the reference to snails, this species has a pretty wide diet in the wild and it does not show a particular taste (or need) for snails, some populations seem quite adapted to hard shelled beetles though, but not all, so give them a diverse diet but do not concern yourself about snails. About wild caught animals... I don't think any of you will come across wild caught specimens in the pet trade, but if you do, they are most certainly illegal (as it is strictly forbidden to capture them in Spain, Portugal and France). In my university there was one L.lepida that spent the day under a palm tree with a colony of sparrows, waiting for baby sparrows to fall down so he could prey on them, I used to throw mullberries at him, and he would eat them very happily!
@@Chopingporky Thanks Brandon. I think they tend not to show a coloration as bright as those in the wild, I bet is probably due to insufficient lighting or UV. I remember that one of the individuals that I was monitoring liked to stuff himself with hawthorn berries and its poops were full of seeds.
Hey Clint! I was wondering if you've considered talking a bit more about where the reptiles are from and what habitats they live in in the wild. I think it would be really cool to learn about that from your perspective and I think that it is just valuable information for a potential reptile keeper! Absolutely love your videos. You have such an amazing, positive energy and I love how passionate you are about reptiles
My family calls me a reptile expert and I knew all of the animals on this show before this. BUT NOW!!!! He got me,he found a lizard I have never heard of. I am so embarrassed. Lol
I watched this video when it came out and I fell absolutely in love with jeweled lacertas to where I prepared for 2 years and got one for my own. He came in as a hatchling (which surprised me he was that young) and I’ve had him and worked with him for a year and he is the best reptile anyone could ever have. I genuinely cannot believe how smart this species is! In this video Clint says they don’t typically want to be handled but weirdly mine will scratch at the glass of him terrarium and when I open it he jumps on me and wants to be pet. I’d recommend this species to anyone who can put in the affection then they’re perfect. Can’t get better!! I neeeeed more videos of these guys cause I’ve watched every single one haha
Hi, Clint. I'm from Spain, and the jeweled lazerta is a common species in most of my country, ranging from the subtropical semideserts of the Southeast to the wet atlantic coasts of the Northwest, from rocky steppes to the mediterranean bush and even into agricultural habitats. It used to be far more abundant when I was a child, but it's still widespread. We call it "lagarto ocelado", which means "ocellated big-lizard". I personally find it amazing how calm that lizard looks in the video. Here, they are known for being very fast and agresive animals when they feel threatened. They usually run very quickly when they see people and seek shelter inside their burrows or in crevices among rocks, and also they can climb up trees if they need to (fast as squirrels). That's why I had never thought about them as pets that you can handle easily...
Love my lacerta, he jumps on my hand when I put it in his enclosure, love the scale patterns, which vary from legs to tail to head to body to neck. Mine is a melanistic, got him as a baby more than a year ago after researching and some of Clint's videos. I chose the most chill of all his siblings not the most patterned. Started off feeding small horned worms then large ones, then superworms and now he likes large discoid roaches, always used supplement powder, won't eat anything without it, mine hates veggies and fruit though you should try berries, mine does like egg. I use cyprus and coconut husk substrate. Some aqua colored like this one in the video, but also there are greens, yellows, and the melanistic (solid black which sometimes shows the dark blue spots). By me in Florida they are not uncommon in reptile shops. Mine is a very early riser, is always out, prefers too sleep is tighter spots instead of his hides or burrowing. They are native to Spain. Males look very much like a tegu because of their stouter head. I have NEVER been bitten by him, or even threatened to as they would in wild, opening their big mouth, look for videos in Spanish from Spain if you want to see some, see a lot of the yellows in Spain. THANKS CLINT!!!
Enjoyed this! I am a happy owner of a male jeweled lacerta. He is now 1,5 years old and I have worked with him since I first got him. Now he is tame and likes to hang out on me (favorite spot is on top of my head and shoulders) when I do things in the house. Awesome and smart lizard that really is like a mini tegu and smart as a little dog. My favorite reptile for sure!
I could not possibly love these little reptiles more if I tried! They have the most spectacular and unique personalities, and they really do remind me forcefully of my tegus in miniature 😄 We recently had a clutch of 8 hatch and the neonates are, understandably, very shy but equally curious. After about a month of being as hands off as possible with them, I began placing my hand in their enclosures and they actually come up to my hand, crawl up, and rest on my palm. I have higher spots for climbing in their homes so that they can thermoregulate to their hearts desire, so it really seems as if they sit and stay on my hand solely out of preference and curiosity. They crawl off at their leisure, and even allow me to carefully stroke the tops of their tiny backs! Last week they began eating out of hands and tongs without fear. They will be such outstanding adults! I really need to get this on film but I'm always too excited to do so! I just adore these lizards so very much 😭
thank you for making this video! i recently saw someone selling one on craigslist and it broke my heart to see the conditions the baby was left in and it breaks my heart even more knowing how to properly care for them now because i can tell this baby is suffering. luckily i’ll be picking him up tomorrow so hopefully i can give him a proper home with your help. super excited
Finally! I’m thinking of getting one in the future, and this video helps me really much. The reason I know about this from before, is that it’s one of the only 19 legal reptile species in Norway.
Make an under-bed enclosure, I'm gonna be building one in a few months. No idea what's going in it yet but it will be big enough for just about anything.
I randomly bought one of these as a kid in like 4th grade (circa 1992-3). It was called a jeweled lizard. Pet store guy told us we needed a tiny glass bowl without a lid....the lizard bit me once and my mom made me bring it back. She 100% saved that lizard's life: horrendous husbandry guidance from the guy. Never dreamed it would turn into something so cool...
I used to import lots of these from Spain in the early 1970's. As I was wholesaling them, I normally didn't have any on hand for any length of time, but found them to feed voraciously on live crickets.
@@Joe_Goofball yes, I know there are/were some programs here in Catalonia to breed them in captivity and reintroduce them. However, as with most things concerning animals, this has to be done with extreme care not to introduce pathogens or other such things into the wild populations.
I'd be curious to know your take on other European reptiles, like for example the Western/Eastern green lizard, or the Italian wall lizard. The latter has so many phenotypic variations, it shocks me it has never been domesticated.
Thanks for highlighting this underrated lizard Clint. Another lizard to consider highlighting that’s also not common to the hobby is the Chuckwalla. Common and Angel Island varieties. Not much info out there about them so please consider for an episode. Thanks as always!
I have had my guy for a few months now he is a year old this month and I LOVE him. Hes super chill now and hangs out with me happily now like Mr Lacerta there. Hes my first reptile and i am hooked.
Love this lizard, simply beautiful and rather easy to care for. I've also been looking at fire skinks the last few months. Now the debate is on. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us and showing us animals we may not have known about before. Love your channel.
Awesome video Clint! I have researched jeweled lacertas for several years. I was lucky enough to find a cb one from a breeder friend at a local reptile show. I have had my boy about a month and he is absolutely the best lizard ever. I have cared for numerous reptiles over the years but he is going to be a favorite. I hope more people can be introduced to these amazing animals. Had also been looking for a new hygrometer. I haven't been thrilled with other brands I have tried. I ordered one from your link to try. If I like it, I will get some more to replace other ones in room. Thanks again.
where i live in France sometimes see these running around but most often i see the European green lizard which i actually think looks nicer but i love watching them bask on the walls
Wow, I've never heard of this lizard, thanks for making a video on it! I had a Leopard Gecko and Bearded Dragon when I was younger, and your awesome channel is certainly making me consider getting back reptile keeping
Thanks for the encouragement, i'm considering crested Geckos or a blue tongued skink, but I will have to do more research on the Jeweled Lacerta now. Btw, I know the name of your channel is 'Clint's reptiles', but have you ever thought about doing videos on any amphibians? I've had two fire bellied toads for five years and they've been awesome pets.
I love your videos! Your by far one of my favorite reptile RUclipsrs of all time. I try to watch and comment on all your videos to show my support of your channel. But I was wondering if I could give you a couple suggestions for videos in the future. First off you should do a draw my life it would be really interesting to see how he ended up getting fully immersed in the reptile hobby. Second you should do a reptile room tour because I have always wondered what animals are in your collection. You should also do a poll so your viewers could vote on what animal they want to see a video on. And lastly do you have Instagram because I will follow you. Thanks and have a great day !
Pedro Crane i actually have a savannah monitor and they’re not bad at all actually, but i still wouldn’t recommend them for most people due to their care
4y later, revisiting this video after having mine for a few months, and ITS AMAZING!! If what you want is a tegu lizard in bearded dragon size, the Jeweled Lacerta might be the best pet reptile for you!
Been looking forward to this video after hearing about it for the first time in the head to head video. It's just perfect. I'll be looking for a breeder so i know where i can get one once i can give one a proper house
I've been reading a bit more about their care and have started to think they wouldn't be a good first time reptile, at least for me. There are so many others that i love, i'll probably start with something easier first.
There are plenty of good first-time reptiles! If you want a suggestion, consider a leopard or a crested gecko :) Bearded dragons are cool too! And cornsnakes.
Happy Hives Happy Hives thank you for those suggestions. I love many reptiles, but i'm personally not a fan of those. Gecko's are so small, i'm afraid of them getting hurt, i'd like something bigger. cornsnakes/beardies somehow just don't really interest me, they are very common pets here. Do you have any experience with garther snakes or ball pythons? I like both and they seem to be pretty good starters.
Garter snakes can make very good first time pets, as can ball pythons! Both snakes need a higher level of humidity however, especially ball pythons. Ball pythons are well known for refusing to eat for very long periods of time(I've heard horror stories of 6+month long food strikes), and if the humidity isn't high enough for one of these reptiles they might shed improperly. However, many people get them as beginners so that could be a viable option! Personally, my first reptile was a California Kingsnake, and I love her. They are(generally) desert animals and don't need high humidity or any significantly special care, and they are usually very easy to feed.
Happy Hives i actually love that they need high humidity, because i'd love a green/rainforesty-looking terrarium that i'd need to put some effort into. A kingsnake sounds amazing too though, i don't know if i'd like how big they get. I'd have to handle one first to find out.
After watching this video I did lots of research on this lizard and I managed to find a breeder and it was the first clutch she ever did and I’ve had him since he was 6 weeks old he’s 7 months old now I’m pretty sure it’s a male he’s beautiful so Thankyou Clint for showing me this amazing lizard 🦎
I have a pair of these, due to my location in England I'm able to keep these outdoors all year. I wouldn't choose to keep them any other way. In all honesty I wouldn't be without them.
Clint's Reptiles Tough competition! Btw I think you should include how long the animals lifespan is on average. I think thats pretty important for some customers, it lets them know how long they would most likely have to keep this commitment for. I know that I don't like to buy lizards with shorter lifespans cause I get emotional when they pass away! I'm a bit of a baby when it comes to pets lmao.
Clint, so happy that you made a video on these guys! It was what made me fall in love with them, and I just recently got a boy, and oh wow did he not disappoint! I adore him, so friendly and active- gorgeous mini tegus, what could be better than that?! So weird to me that these amazing lizards are so slept on! Love your channel, you inspire me with every video (:
I like how you give links for people to get a new pet, give info on the animal and costs and the chery on top is you answer questions and look at the comments
9:40 i think i got really lucky because i got my juvenile from a pet shop for £30 around $41 and the store owner sent me pictures of the lacerta hatching as a baby.
Came from snake discovery and this is the first video I watched! I ALREADY LOVE YOUR CHANNEL even tho this is my first video I watched of yours, you are so Informative and seem really happy which makes me happy and also you include links to everything in the description that you talked about which is reallyyyy helpful!
I'm glad I watched this video. I was wanting to get a savannah monitor but you talked me out of it, so I watched more of your video and this is the closest to one that is affordable that is cool. Thank you for the tips and I will start doing more and more looking into a jeweled lacerda.
They're beautiful lizards that like you said are very hardy and food motivated.i had one when I was younger but he was very flighty even after a long period of acclimation.other than that he was an awesome pet that I had for quite a while.thanks for your channel n posts
Hi Clint ! I'm really happy to see this vidéo because I Live in France... so I see Jeweled Lacerta in my garden ! And they are very interesting to observe :) I try to protect them in a little "sanctuary" in my garden
I am really fortunate to live in the UK where they are really quite common. If you ask most reptile shops they will be able to get them in fairly easily :-) this could be the lizard for me thanks Clint 🤣👌
I actually saw two Jeweled Lacerta babies for sale at the Tampa Bay Repticon this past Saturday- I was so surprised when I encountered them too! They were from Imperial Reptiles and I wish I could have taken the time to have held one but the con was closing up shop for the day
I really love your videos, they're very calming and you're just so cool and nice. I've been waiting for this video! I want a Jeweled Lacerta now, heh. As soon as I have the space for more reptiles you can bet I'll be getting my very own Jeweled Lacerta!
Selmer'sPet Land in Huntington NY (long island) has a pair right now and they're magnificent and georgeous. The employees handle them and they're sociable. I held one and was very impressed with it's nature.
I have a female called Gem! these are the most amazing lizards and i would rate them as my favourite. My girl is 9 months old, they are readily available in the UK and can become as tame as beardies!
I'm here years late but am curious on how people with these lizards have worked to get them to this level of handleability? I know it's not easy and it's up to the lizard. I've had mine over a year now, he tolerates me, but I could never take him out of his enclosure cuz he's so fast and curious, I'd never find him again! But I'd love to work on him over the years so as he gets older, maybe he'll chill and be able to come out of his enclosure someday. Love any advice someone may have. Thanks! Love these guys!
Hi Clint, I just got my own Jeweled Lacerta. It's an AMAZING lizard. I agree with you on the 3/5. The enclosure is pretty big. But it's worth watching him hunt.. =)
I got a jeweled Lacerta as my first personal Lizard after seeing this and he is just so fun. I never expected him to be so prone to staying out in public! So much personality, and you weren't kidding when you said they're food driven! He sees the food coming a while away and is front and center waiting for it and holy crap I never imagined that they would be so intellegent
Hello Clint love your videos! Thank you for them! Just wondering if you can tell me where I can get myself a jeweled lacerta for myself if you have a couple of options

What size enclosure might you recommend? Could a 40 gallon work? Thanks!

For sure! I'm about to get a pair on Tuesday
Ani Carmela where did you get them I am looking into them but can’t find somewhere to buy them
Here a year later and you are 100% correct
here also a year later, just got myself a baby, breeder has a lot of trouble with the demand of these guys nowadays
Here 3 years later you are correct

there is a subspecies called timon nevadensis and they are usually darker and quite larger than the timon lepidus you probably got one of those.
Can we get a head to head of a Jeweled Lacerta and the Ackie Monitor?
That would be great!
I was just about to comment and ask how you would compare these to an Ackie when I saw someone had the same idea!
Anthony M. Ravenwood I'll 3rd this comment.
I have read they are like mini Tegus.
Or beardie
I have never really thought about getting a lizard until I started watching your videos. Thanks for getting me interested in them Clint
I'm a snake girl personally, but oh boy was that a pretty lizard. Also I just love your outtakes. You seemed so happy XD
I know! And you're right, it is hard to be more excited about a lizard. How could I not be happy??
I'm more of a snake person too but I've been thinking about trying a lizard and I think this is a good one

Thank you so much for making these videos!!! I look forward to seeing them every week. This jeweled lacerta is gorgeous! I am absolutely in love!
Keep showing off the under rated species. We have to give them the spot light so they become more well known.!
He looks animated! I need to stop watching your videos, every time I see one I want whatever animal it is you're hanging out with D:
Me too!
I have never watched your videos, but as soon as I clicked on and I saw your passion I subscribed. I love it lmao
I'm really glad you found our channel!
Clint's Reptiles I am too, my dude!!
I used to import lots of these from Spain in the early 1970's. As I was wholesaling them, I normally didn't have any on hand for any length of time, but found them to feed voraciously on live crickets.
Sadly they are hard to find in the wild nowadays. And they are illegal to catch in Spain and France and illegal to even keep in Catalonia.
@@pol... Sad that their numbers are dwindling. I suspect if a person had a pair, they might breed easily in captivity...
@@Joe_Goofball yes, I know there are/were some programs here in Catalonia to breed them in captivity and reintroduce them. However, as with most things concerning animals, this has to be done with extreme care not to introduce pathogens or other such things into the wild populations.
Still, an awesome lizard and if they weren't illegal here I would consider keeping one! I believe they thrive in captivity
@@pol... Makes perfect sense--to what pathogens might captive born Lacertas be exposed in Catalonia that wild specimens wouldn't encounter in nature?
I'd be curious to know your take on other European reptiles, like for example the Western/Eastern green lizard, or the Italian wall lizard. The latter has so many phenotypic variations, it shocks me it has never been domesticated.
Clint, your enthusiasm for these wonderful animals never fails to put a smile on my face.
Thanks for highlighting this underrated lizard Clint. Another lizard to consider highlighting that’s also not common to the hobby is the Chuckwalla. Common and Angel Island varieties. Not much info out there about them so please consider for an episode. Thanks as always!
Great suggestion!
I adore fire skinks!
I love how excited you are about the reptiles! It's gets me really pumped to do hour long water changes and feedings and tank cleanings...
"You say that every lizard is an incredible pet!"
Clint: They're good lizards, Brent
I haven't been getting that comment much lately 😂
One of the coolest lizards ever. I love the size it gets, the colors and the care
Well, had to drop everything and come watch clints reptiles due to a new upload. Guess today is starting off right.
I like where your priorities are!!
where i live in France sometimes see these running around but most often i see the European green lizard which i actually think looks nicer but i love watching them bask on the walls
“It’s just stinkin’ rad!” Clint, you are so cute and personable! Your wife is a very blessed woman!
Wow, I've never heard of this lizard, thanks for making a video on it! I had a Leopard Gecko and Bearded Dragon when I was younger, and your awesome channel is certainly making me consider getting back reptile keeping
Do it!
Some great suggestions. You don't follow us on Instagram?? We had a great event yesterday. I'll get to more of the questions today :)
Clint's Reptiles my bad I just found and followed you on Instagram
Nobody's perfect 😉
Well, I guess you might be now...
Clint's Reptiles 😂
The best lizards are all lizards
Not all make good pets, but I totally agree with you!
Yep except Savana monitors
@@ClintsReptiles they all make good pets it is just it needs to be with the right person
- iguana
Pedro Crane i actually have a savannah monitor and they’re not bad at all actually, but i still wouldn’t recommend them for most people due to their care
I'm from spain and I love this animal. It's amazing see them in the wild. Love that animal
4y later, revisiting this video after having mine for a few months, and ITS AMAZING!!
If what you want is a tegu lizard in bearded dragon size, the Jeweled Lacerta might be the best pet reptile for you!
I think every pet lizard is the worlds most perfect pet lizard in your eyes! I love your passion!
I have been waiting for you to do one on the jeweled lacerta 😊
Thanks for the heart Clint
After watching this video I did lots of research on this lizard and I managed to find a breeder and it was the first clutch she ever did and I’ve had him since he was 6 weeks old he’s 7 months old now I’m pretty sure it’s a male he’s beautiful so Thankyou Clint for showing me this amazing lizard 🦎
I have a pair of these, due to my location in England I'm able to keep these outdoors all year. I wouldn't choose to keep them any other way. In all honesty I wouldn't be without them.
They seem like such friendly guys! I love the green coloration! But I love my orange morph northern blue tongue skink! Simmie is a legend!
Northerns are hard to beat
Clint's Reptiles Tough competition! Btw I think you should include how long the animals lifespan is on average. I think thats pretty important for some customers, it lets them know how long they would most likely have to keep this commitment for. I know that I don't like to buy lizards with shorter lifespans cause I get emotional when they pass away! I'm a bit of a baby when it comes to pets lmao.
Great suggestion. We do tend to mention it if their lifespan is unusually long or short.
Clint's Reptiles thats true, but I think an average number would serve viewers better. Still tho love the videos!
I'm convinced my Lacerta actively attempts to make me mad. If I go more than a day without dumping it's water, it will fill it with sand
Like i said clint you see the comments
Clint you could play the joker lol that smile and the way you present yourself is very joker-esque
I would happily accept that role! 🃏
Clint's Reptiles Yay, another of my kind!
Awesome as always. Mountain horned lizard would be cool...I'm currently trying to decide between the two
9:40 i think i got really lucky because i got my juvenile from a pet shop for £30 around $41 and the store owner sent me pictures of the lacerta hatching as a baby.
You forgot to say where this specie is endemic. And most of them are in my homeland, Spain. They also can be find in south France.
Came from snake discovery and this is the first video I watched! I ALREADY LOVE YOUR CHANNEL even tho this is my first video I watched of yours, you are so Informative and seem really happy which makes me happy and also you include links to everything in the description that you talked about which is reallyyyy helpful!
Thank your so much! I'm so happy that you found us and are enjoying the videos. You made my day.
I'm glad I watched this video. I was wanting to get a savannah monitor but you talked me out of it, so I watched more of your video and this is the closest to one that is affordable that is cool. Thank you for the tips and I will start doing more and more looking into a jeweled lacerda.
I love watching the bloopers at the end of every video!
They were from Imperial Reptiles and I wish I could have taken the time to have held one but the con was closing up shop for the day
Just saw a jeweled lacerta in a pet shop in Charlotte NC!!! :)
Question not about this lizard but do leopard geckos need humidity cus I have never had it humid in their and she’s fine
Not too much. They come from desert regions.
Clint's Reptiles ok thanks dude btw love your vids
I’m getting mine on Saturday! Can’t wait!!!
Can u give more details on care?
How hot should the basking spot be?
What percentage of humidity should it be?
How big should the enclosure be?
Those are really questions for a care guide. There are many good ones. I also recommend taking to successful keepers.
Look up "Jeweled Lacerta Care HappyDragons" Thats where I got most of my info
I really love your videos, they're very calming and you're just so cool and nice. I've been waiting for this video! I want a Jeweled Lacerta now, heh. As soon as I have the space for more reptiles you can bet I'll be getting my very own Jeweled Lacerta!
Selmer'sPet Land in Huntington NY (long island) has a pair right now and they're magnificent and georgeous.
The employees handle them and they're sociable. I held one and was very impressed with it's nature.
This is such a beautiful creature!
I hope I will be able to own one in the future...
I have a female called Gem! these are the most amazing lizards and i would rate them as my favourite. My girl is 9 months old, they are readily available in the UK and can become as tame as beardies!
YAY! Very excited to see you uploaded this today, my fiancée and I are hooked on your videos. Thanks Clint & crew!
You're so welcome! Congratulations by the way. I can tell you both must be pretty rad!
Thank you very much. Takes rad to know rad.
Great video Clint keep the content coming. Love your videos.
Thank you so much! We will keep it coming :)
My jeweled lacerta the male did drop its tail and grew back over time.. this was 40!years ago!
You have some of the greatest reptile videos ever
I'm here years late but am curious on how people with these lizards have worked to get them to this level of handleability? I know it's not easy and it's up to the lizard. I've had mine over a year now, he tolerates me, but I could never take him out of his enclosure cuz he's so fast and curious, I'd never find him again! But I'd love to work on him over the years so as he gets older, maybe he'll chill and be able to come out of his enclosure someday. Love any advice someone may have. Thanks! Love these guys!
Hi Clint,
I just got my own Jeweled Lacerta. It's an AMAZING lizard. I agree with you on the 3/5. The enclosure is pretty big. But it's worth watching him hunt.. =)
what a gorgeous little mini-dino!
"False chameleon vs chameleon which is better"?
We will probably have to make this video! Great suggestion!
They're completely different
A big chunk of lapis lazuli would be an awesome feature in an enclosure for one of these.
The melanistic jeweled lacerta's are amazing looking!
Wow. He's stunning.
Hey Clint love your videos and I’m also getting a Argentine tegu next week
Oh my, I'm very excited for you!
Saturday is the best day of the week :)
SiboWoW only when Clint makes a video 😊
Another great video clint
Yah thanks for the like agian
Why do I love it so much when he says "So stinkin' rad"?
Our local Petco actually had one a month or two ago. I tried to learn more about them online, but there was not much information at the time.
