    Always great to watch an expert work. I'm fooling around inking other people's work, had no idea how to start. The idea of constantly spinning the page hadn't even occurred to me! So thanks.

    I recently bought that pilot pen,G-TEC-C3 (0.15 mm),thanks to this video, its a best gel pen ever! I cant understand why it isnt so populair..thanks again!

      Ah yes,I ve seen his videos as well.Yea,he uses some gel pen indeed.Im not sure I've seen him using G-tech, but maybe he did.

    I know the feels about the 0.5 pens. I am constantly frustrated by not being able to do extremely fine details with it so I have a 0.3 and 0.1 on hand just for that.

      Esteban Quezada I like 11 x 17 inch Strathmore Smooth. There are ones made for comics with blue guide lines, but this paper is better and if you're printing on it you won't need the guides.

    Amazing! I've been doing pencils for a while now and I'm only 15. I've been wanting to ink my work but kind of scared I'm going to mess up and ruin it. Any suggestions ?

      dont ink your only copy, scan it and ink a print out, or do what he did and ink on a layer taped over the original.

      What Andrew said :) Ink a decent copy or do what Richard is doing in the video. Eventually, though, I think you will have the skill and the confidence to ink directly over the pencils.

    What if you don't have a lightbed? just in on top of pencils and then erase pencils?

    Is that vellum? I was asked to ink a few storyboards and I do not have a lightbox. What are some of the standard equipment for this project???

      Will Bailey Hey Will, that's just plain 11x17 Bristol. It's not very porous, otherwise the ink might spider out.

      +joachim chavez This method allows Richard to keep the pencils and allows him the flexibility to deviate from the pencils if he chooses to.

    Can you send a link to the type of artist pens you are using? I've been using Faber-Castells, but they dry out so quickly. Also which size do use?

      It's this one here. Very thin though, not a big fan of it. But for intricate lines very good, and of course for tech and mechas.

    I feel like the fine liner pen you're using leaves too much of a "sketchy" look to the piece. For some things, that works but not really digging it on this. Wouldn't a quill for most of that process leave a cleaner, easier to manipulate line?

      Sure, a quill would be cleaner. Richard is very experienced with quill. I imagine he got the exact look he was going for though.
