I've seen LB live twice and Fred actually seems like a pretty chill guy. 1st time he got in the fan area and just interacted with them and after the show when everyone was leaving. Fred with security walked by and because I'm British. Everyone started doing some British type of chant as a sign of respect to Fred and he just positively interacted with everyone. Second time was at Download this year and he got some guy dressed as 2000 Fred Durst to come on stage with him and sing Full Nelson and also ended up stopping the music because he saw someone fighting and wanted to get security to make everyone have a good time instead. Also saw someone else hurt and asked security to see if she is okay, I remember him saying "You can flip me off. That's fine. Just make sure she's okay".... I don't know whether his trying to not have another Woodstock 99 fiasco 😂. But Fred Durst does seem to be quite a nice dude nowadays
Fred Durst is one of the most sincere and nice guys in music. He doesn't take other people's bullshit. This is why I respect him so much. He hardly criticises other bands and says really kind things about them. I have become a recent fan of Fred Durst because of his compassion towards his fans, he is so kind. Back when Wes temporarily quit; Limp Bizkit held auditions for a new guitarist at many Guitar Center stores across the country. The whole ordeal was a complete shit show; it was nothing more than Limp swiping orginal riffs from thousands of guitarists. No one got the gig and Fred put out a statement saying: If you didn't get the part it's because you suck. Soon after, Wes came back.
Missed Zakk Wylde. Supposedly some music executives told him his band Black Label Society should sound more like Limp Bizkit. So while recording a live DVD Zakk shouted 'Limp Bizkit sucks cock' during Superterrorizer. After that, Zakk was asked about the now infamous Fred Durst guitar solo. I don't think both parts ever met though.
And now Fred Durst in 2024 seems to be one of the chillest and wholesome people who only has nice things to say about others. Lol And LB is my gulity pleasure band. Mostly because of Wes Borland groovy riffs
Its called free advertising. They all did this and still do in the showbiz. You will often see how some of them diss each other but then on events they hug and kiss and talk to each other, they friends and family. Some don't diss each other since they are in the same "clan" but often you will see these clan clashes and genre clashes but behind the scenes they are all chill. I just got reminded that Machine Gunkelly or what is his name solely got "somewhat popular" due to his marriage to that actress and his constant dissing EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE. The dude was going on everyone's nerves since day one. Before him there was Skrillex who did the same, its not their "music" what was spammed everywhere but rather their online drama. I totally forgot these clowns even existed until just now thanks to this topic ... I wont name them all but there are almost all doing this and it's just publicity stunts and free adverts really. Edit: Unlike like these Limp Bizkit actually have great music to show up for so there is a difference. Same goes for Slipknot. I remember when I was in multiple colab programs and had label partnerships out of nowhere too often tossed into the mix of hate speech and drama, some of them I fought but then I just blocked and ignored it all because I realized it really fast that I am being used for free advertising. I wont say names again but yeah its a thing ... many of those are popular RUclipsrs today thanks to that ...
