Al, I remember watching your videos 15+ years ago. You had a lot of great content at the time-especially during the infancy of RUclips! I started humming this song tonight and I had to look it up. I was pleasantly surprised to see your name come up again after all these years. Hope all is well!!
Hi Alex - I always enjoy hearing from the OG viewers. And. yes, I'm still actively cranking out 'crappy RUclips videos' and even streaming live! Overall, all is well. I wrapped up a great 10 years in the computer industry followed by 35 years in advertising. Yes, I'm 'old and retired' and busy as hell doing the things I want to do. Overall, all is well. Definitely check out some of the newer content, and thanks for writing! - Alfred.
Sad thing is, if this song were released to the public in 1984 it would have been a hit! APPLE TWOOO FOREVAAAAH, WE'RE BRINGING THE RAINBOOOOW TO YOUUUUUU~~~~ -Jared
This just makes me sad. If Apple had stayed true to Woz's vision of a fun computer, instead of looking to Job's and his elegance over function philosophy, things would have been very different. Look around the net for the story of how Steve Jobs wouldn't even let the Apple engineers add a single expansion port on the first Mac. They tried to sneak one in as a "factory diagnostic port", but he caught on and made them take it out. The Apple II is still a great computer after all these years.
We have an Apple II that my dad bought in 1979 to use Visicalc at home. Nearly 32 years later, and it still fires up and works just like it did brand new. Now that's quality.
Hi Jordan - no I didn't make this video. I restored it from a video that was given to me in 1984 by my Apple dealer rep. It's a cool piece of history, for those who are into computers. I hope you got a kick out of watching it! - Alfred.
Am I the only one who feels like they could take on the world after listening to this? This may very well be the most strangely uplifting song ever written.
Hey Mike - it was running Apple Dos, and later ProDos. The mouse was just a peripherals that programmers embraced and integrated into their application programs. Floating point basic was built into the IIc. Thanks for watching! - Alfred
Nice video! Is this the same lady who sang the "We Are Apple" song? I LOVE that song! =P What if Apple came out with a song today? It would be interesting. ;)
WOW those addresses were a true trip down 'memory' lane! Thanks for sharing that info. I'm going to record a fully working IIe... soon. I think people will have some fun watching the 'real thing' vs an emualtor. And the sounds of the floppy drive whirring and clacking LOL! Thx! Alfred
man Al i LOVE this ive watched it about 3 times! lol i have all of these songs but there not in this good of quality and i found a sight that had all of the apple music videos but none of the files existed on the server anymore :(
My dad had an Apple ][ kit that he built into a heavy printer casing. It's gone now, but I remember playing it on a Zenith monochrome monitor and being surprised in the late 1990s when he said that it could do color.
Hi Cor - no, I am no longer an Apple dealer, so I pay the regular price. I like the Windows platform - Windows 2003 Small Business Server runs my company, and I have Win XP clients (as well as a few Mac) talking to the server. I have not used Vista. I don't claim "Ripoff" because if you trace the history, both companies were inspired from other firms! It's great to use both platforms for what they excel at! - Alfred
T! I'm glad you enjoyed this. You have to send me an email and let me know the six songs -- I can only think of two! :) Thanks for watching, and being supportive with these restorations. More to come! - Alfred
I use both platforms. Windows 2003 servers run my business. They run flawlessly. We use SQL Server, Exchange Server, FoxPro, vertical market applications (that were designed to run under DOS!). All good. On the personal computing side, I enjoy using the Macintosh platform for Video and Audio editing. Thanks for watching.
Apple II is still the best sold computer in exactly same model. Remember technology from 1977 lasted until 1993 - and an IBM Pc was nothing realy new except using a CPU that is capable to work 16 bit internally. And a dos that was poor compared to Apple Dos. Woz, you're great!
2 things Al - Time 0.53-0.54 - Do you think she's got enough markers there? Time 1.00-1.01 just begs for the caption "OMFG! Blue Screen!" As usual, great video. 5 stars - Blake.
This is what is known as "Industrial Music." Not the kind with clanging metal and spooky vocals, but music produced specifically for a company. This particular video was created to show to Apple sales people, to reassure them that although Macintosh was a huge deal, Apple was going to keep the Apple II product line going. (They did finally stop selling Apple II around eight years later.) This song is not the "worst" example by any stretch of the imagination. Search "MS-DOS 5 RAP"
This is a great song. Given the public's well-known ability to ignore lyrics ("Every Breath You Take" ain't a love song, people) it probably could've been released to radio and charted. The only other 80s-era bit of "industrial music" of this quality that I'm aware of is GM's "Ride Pontiac Ride" - the full 3-minute version was shown only to dealers (and now on RUclips), but an edit was used in actual TV ads as well.
Well, 1977 to end of product life cycle with the IIGS, December 1992, holy crap, it had a good run! Did you ever have one? Thanks for watching. - Alfred
I swear this song was produced by the same people that released cookie cutter albums of "Taking Pride In Portland" (also Topeka, the Inland Northwest and others?) in the early 90s. The woman's voice is spot on.
I can't believe that there was a song composed just for the Apple ][! Anyway, did the Apple ][c run an emulated version of Mac OS (system software) like in the later days of Lisa or did it run strictly on BASIC?
T! - Yes, I have mentioned in an email to Steve Wozniak about reviving the platform! LOL! I will have to make a video and encourage people to go into their storage areas or basement, bring up their Apple II's, kick in the video camera, and video it being booted! LOL! Thanks for watching, and subscribing! - Alfred
Wow, first person to not slam either Mac or Windows. I appreciate that really. I myself prefer Windows (I am a gamer) but the Mac has it's ups as well. This world would be a lot better with people walking both sides of the street.
Thanks for uploading, and thanks for being a part of our lives, Woz! I cut my teeth on the ][, but it wasn't until '95 or so until I finally called one my own. Never liked the MacInToy. Apparently, neither did Woz. The ][ was and still remains his baby.
Yes; it was a special bundle price for the employees of Apple dealers bundled with an Imagewriter printer. I sold it, years ago, for $1,000, and used the money for a Mac Plus. The person that bought it was a collector saying that it would probably be work something 'in the future'. I still have a ratty Mac 512K, but it still works! I also had a Lisa, back in the day, sold it to pay bills when I had my skiing accident.
David, I think it's the same person. They sure as heck sound the same. Or, maybe it was Steve Jobs singing, and he used a program to change the pitch of his voice. It's possible, ya know. M^3
It's funny, when i was in grade five. Thats five years ago there was a apple 2 in our classroom. I didn't now it at the time but i like it because of the games it had.
The Apple IIe pro system was my very first computer. I used it in high school and some in college. Then I got my first my Mac computer (IIsi) I am on my on my 5th Apple computer now. (Imac)
Bravo, Corshen. Well said. I have some die-hard Mac Fan Boy friends and family members -and they assume I am one, and we get into some nasty arguments over this stuff. I've met Bill Gates, personally, at a private party on his campus in Redmond after a meeting - intense, smart, friendly, I like him. I have no products in XP/Server, and I have Macs and PCs all over home, and work! - Alfred
Marak - I have about 3 Apple II's in storage -- so let this be the official word that I am assigning the license for one of them to you. Now, go download your ROMS! - Alfred
it's funny how some people pay thousands for systems with terrabytes of hard drive space, gigabytes of RAM and more, when, even nowadays you can still do the essentials (even internet browsing!) on a ][.
Al, I remember watching your videos 15+ years ago. You had a lot of great content at the time-especially during the infancy of RUclips! I started humming this song tonight and I had to look it up. I was pleasantly surprised to see your name come up again after all these years. Hope all is well!!

THANKS FOR MAKING IT PUBLIC AGAIN!
Heard this song over 15 times now. Love it. Thank you Alfred.
Hey WV! Yes, I'll tell you, those 80's synthesizers did have a unique sound! Thanks for watching!! - Alfred
The best era for Apple. I began to use Apple products in 1982 when my High school bought an Apple ][ Plus.
Ohh, back in the day, I sold many Apple ][ systems to schools. And a salute to you, for using the proper characters for ][ - excellent! - Alfred.
Sad thing is, if this song were released to the public in 1984 it would have been a hit! APPLE TWOOO FOREVAAAAH, WE'RE BRINGING THE RAINBOOOOW TO YOUUUUUU~~~~

The Apple II is still a great computer after all these years.
Quite a catchy song. Having grown up at that time, the song brings back many memories of the 1980s.

Nearly 32 years later, and it still fires up and works just like it did brand new. Now that's quality.

No
Apple II forever; making life better and better!
Hey Mike - it was running Apple Dos, and later ProDos. The mouse was just a peripherals that programmers embraced and integrated into their application programs. Floating point basic was built into the IIc. Thanks for watching! - Alfred
I still got my Apple II, my schoo district had them until 2003 and they worked great till the end.
Cant say that for the PCs that replaced them.
Nice video! Is this the same lady who sang the "We Are Apple" song? I LOVE that song! =P What if Apple came out with a song today? It would be interesting. ;)

Out of the "trio of '77" Apple II is without a doubt the best of it's era.
It was also cost as much as a used car when it rolled out, and that was without a monitor.
Great pictures in this! It's a piece of history!
You gotta just love those 1980's synthesizers used in this soundtrack! Enjoy! - Alfred
I love this song. So much.
No. It was used at the introduction of the Apple IIc conference at the Moscone Center in California, sometime in 1984, after the Mac introduction.
Great great great video. A piece of history.
man Al i LOVE this ive watched it about 3 times! lol i have all of these songs but there not in this good of quality and i found a sight that had all of the apple music videos but none of the files existed on the server anymore :(
ok Al... i have to have this!! this is great!
My dad had an Apple ][ kit that he built into a heavy printer casing. It's gone now, but I remember playing it on a Zenith monochrome monitor and being surprised in the late 1990s when he said that it could do color.
Yes, most systems I sold, back in 1978, were with monochrome monitors. Only the big dawgs with the big budgets went for the color monitors.

AWESOME!!!
and lovely addicting song! those were days!!
It's performed by Geoff Levin and Cathy Schleussner. Composed by Geoff Levin. ©1984 Produced by Image Stream, Inc.

Thanks, Alfred! Who sings the soundtrack though, did she also do the Bodyform ads?!!!
The greatest song about an Apple computer ever?

Jesus... gotta love the crazy crap (as in music) that came from the 80's... cheers Alfred!
Well, 1977 to end of product life cycle with the IIGS, December 1992, holy crap, it had a good run! Did you ever have one? Thanks for watching. - Alfred
What, no US Festival clips??? :)
Great video!
I swear this song was produced by the same people that released cookie cutter albums of "Taking Pride In Portland" (also Topeka, the Inland Northwest and others?) in the early 90s. The woman's voice is spot on.

Memories you never had? Hahahah - that's what the hippies probablly said when they took acid back in the 60's! LOL! Thanks for watching! - Alfred

Five Stars!
Great, great, great video!!!
I love apple too!!
APPLE FOREVER!!
I really like this song!!!
Thanks for uploading, and thanks for being a part of our lives, Woz! I cut my teeth on the ][, but it wasn't until '95 or so until I finally called one my own.
Never liked the MacInToy. Apparently, neither did Woz. The ][ was and still remains his baby.
Apple is the best! I wish more people would realize that!
Incredible!
This awesome song was only done to this ?
This song inspired me to break into my "Flashdance" style dance-routine!! :-) hahaha!
Favorited and bookmarked, amazing.
Same vocalist (and songwriter) as bob saget-era AFV theme song.
I just watched this for about the 80th time...
Haha, so 80's. Love it!! Typing this on my Macbook Air, btw. :D
Jon B Nice, Jon. Tune in to the live webcast tonight starting at 10 PM US/Eastern. www.alfred.tv/live

love the song ... :)
perect how the song changes from a 70s feeling to a 80s instrumentation.
I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN A SUPPORT THAT SEES AND EXPLAINS HOW IT WORKS
@adiblasi I feel honored to be in the comments presence.
@tapo PC-DOS and MS-DOS where two different product-lines based on the same source code
They say "leading the way" because back then Apple were leading the world in the home computer revolution, and indeed still are.
How did you know that ?
dude, this is Apple ][ forever!
ROFL. I dare you to blast this in the Hummer with the windows down and some big speakers in the back while driving down the block. =D
Here! Here! So true!
Ultimate Steve Tribute
I LOVE IT
@MrYoshiDan I watched this like 1 year ago, and as i remembered the words i couldn't help not singing!
Can I know how is this style of pop called? I want more songs like this
RX - I'll tell you, the IIe was a thing of beauty. That motherboard was truly a work of art. Did you own one? - Alfred
I've got a CD quality MP3 of this track, i love it. Do PM me if anybody would like it.
Ancient comment, but do you still have that MP3?
@@BlahBleeBlahBlah I need it too 😅
wasn't this the same person who sang we are apple?
David, I think it's the same person. They sure as heck sound the same. Or, maybe it was Steve Jobs singing, and he used a program to change the pitch of his voice. It's possible, ya know. M^3
is that from bonnie tylor?

thank you apple!
I miss my IIc.
Shy Violet If I were Jacksfilms, I'd say "get out".

This song should be on Rock Band! Thumbs up if you agree!
I know - the Apple II product line was a critical cash generator that funded all of the other projects!
did u mack this?
Hey, but that doesn't fit the timing of the music! Try again...
Marak - I have about 3 Apple II's in storage -- so let this be the official word that I am assigning the license for one of them to you. Now, go download your ROMS! - Alfred
Do you think Steve has a Wii?
MacBook Air Forever!
Yes - a great system!!
I'm not sure, but I think it is a computer series
What is that at 1:45?
I totaly agree with you, HHGF...
it's funny how some people pay thousands for systems with terrabytes of hard drive space, gigabytes of RAM and more, when, even nowadays you can still do the essentials (even internet browsing!) on a ][.
The hires Einstein @ 2:53 is tight
color fringe forever!!
@Yobachi2007 Yeah. Even if they aren't any good for running TF2, they sure are nice to use and tinker with in your spare time.
Not sure... sure sounds like it is.
