Wow this looks exactly like a dozer that's been sitting for years at an abandoned cement factory by me. This one is probably missing parts but I'd love to see it run. It's beat up and rusty but it's still a CAT
Hey, I just bought the brother to your 977L. Everyone let me know on Facebook that it's a crossover from K to L. Whatever..... it's 24 tons of fun cleaning the trees off our land!!!🤠 Did you find the top cover...mine is missing too. Great looking 977 L
Unfortunately no I’m going to have to make one. I do have pictures of them and what they are suppose to look like. The 977L started at 11k3921 I think without looking at my manual.
I just bought a 977L. It is in good shape except for the track chains and one cylinder leaks. I am clearing mesquite odd my land and hope this will work.
@@HaydenIngram I think I got a goo deal on it. I paid $15,000. So i have Monday left to do some repairs/ maintenance. I have a friend that worked on heavy equipment in the past. He said he will go over it and see what needs to be addressed. I have never worked on anything like this., but have done about all you can on a passenger vehicle. Everything on one of these is 10x heavier at least.
@@mikeleschber33 some things are heavier for sure but a lot of the stuff isn’t too bad. I don’t think you did terrible on the price. Send me some pictures. Hayden28atcomcast.net

It's a later model 11k s/n prefix. It's right about the time they swapped over to the I think 13x s/n. When I type the s/n in cat sis it comes up as a k but some of the breakdowns for this s/n have 977L in them. I've never seen one with these exact sweeps on another one. And that's a 941 essentially a 951. It is for sale btw located in Ga.
You will love that 977. Nothin they can't do. My dad did demolition since the 70s and ran 977s to do land clearing and some grading, but mostly demolition. For years he demo'd houses, buildings, gas stations and a big old high school with a 977L. Your machine has probably made someone a lot of money over the years
fish n beer I hope to get it going really good touch up a little on the paint. We have 25 acres I hope to clear with it bunch of big hardwoods after that would like to maybe get a few small odd and end jobs on the side and let it earn its keep!
@@HaydenIngram wish you the best.. I miss my 966c..since I moved from my hometown.. But every time I go there the old girl is waiting for me.. I just love it
@@HaydenIngram You got the cross over machine then coz K 's had outside top roller towers and most L's had top rollers mounted inboard !- i did wonder if that was the situ as its got the beefed up headboard
James Lindley they retained the same carrier rollers throughout the 11k s/n prefix I believe. Which ran on up into the 7xxx range so there was a lot like this. They changed hp rating when they went from the K to L to 190 as well.
Robbie Triplett they weren't at the time of the video. If you look on my channel I've been working on it for a little over a year and have gotten almost everything fixed
977 L is a great machine Ran one a lot in that time frame ! Beast!
It has proven to be a great machine!
Just a little TLC, great tractor
id love to have 20 acres somewhere and a 977 cat to play with
i really enjoy it, not a whole lot that stops it

I'm sure it will do just fine, just keep an eye on all your fluids. track chains are pretty expensive but the cylinder is cheap to repair.

Had to put a new core in the radiator it was rotten and couldn’t be repaired unfortunately….
That is a great one. Loved the look of those CAT track Loaders how many hours on her.
R P showing 1300 hrs on the engine. on the frame I have no idea I would say 10k hours max.
