- A 'Roblox' Developer Is Reportedly Facing Two Life Sentences - Details on His FBI Arrest.
The video game industry is no stranger to horrid business practices and harmful behavior. Blizzard Entertainment faced lawsuits due to the company's alleged toxic work environment and ongoing harassment. Game director and Quantic Dream founder David Cage faced backlash for reportedly participating in homophobia and racism within his studio. Now, a developer from Roblox is said to be facing heavy criminal charges.
Roblox is an online game and game-creation platform where users can play and make their own games using the same avatar. As a content creation outlet, Roblox has several interesting features that users can add to their games, including micro-transactions.
Unfortunately, it would appear that not even Roblox is safe from toxic environments and harmful situations. A popular Roblox developer was reportedly arrested by the FBI back in May 2022 and is facing two life sentences. Here's what we know about the arrest.
Much of the information behind the arrest comes from a RUclips video posted by a user named "Ruben Sim." In the video, they outline the developer's career, popularity, and alleged unsavory behavior leading to his arrest in May 2022.
The developer in question is named Arnold Castillo, also known as Jadon Shedletsky. Reportedly, Arnold gained a major following in 2017 while working on a Sonic the Hedgehog fan game at the time.
However, much of his toxicity emerged in a Discord server dedicated to his game. He reportedly participated in several inappropriate conversations about minors and would even reach out to under aged Roblox players in DMs. In these private messages, he would apparently engage in suggestive conversations with younger users. While he would claim on his own RUclips channel that he would never act on these messages and that they were mere "jokes," his behavior became serious enough to involve the FBI.
In 2022, some users became concerned that Arnold had not been active on his Discord server for some time. It was eventually revealed that Arnold was reportedly placed into police custody by the FBI. As of this writing, he is said to be currently facing two life sentences and criminal fines of up to $500,000.Charlie takes a look at this disturbing case.

Allegedly, Arnold had taken interest in a 15-year-old girl on his Discord server, sending cash to her in order to get her to travel across state lines to his location. After the girl was reported missing, an investigation was opened into his messages and transactions at the time. The investigation would eventually result in his arrest.
Reportedly, this is not the first time that Roblox users and developers have engaged in controversial matters. In fact, the Roblox wiki even includes an entire section dedicated to "controversial users." According to Ruben Sim, this is not even the first instance of Roblox users and developers engaging in inappropriate behavior on and around the platform.

15 years in prison with 20 years of supervised release afterward. Am surprised it wasn't life, considering his 8 day stay with a minor in his home. A lot of that damage was already done.

I have no idea why Charlie keeps mentioning "the story they told the Uber driver" like Ubers interview people before each trip. You literally just book the Uber through an app. Uber can take someone any distance up to 8 hours. They are also not babysitters: you drive whoever shows up and gets in your car so long as they give you the right name... even if it's a teenager... because parents send teenagers places in Uber all the time. It's not like there's a legal age limit for riding in a taxi or an Uber. While you're supposed to ride with an adult if you're under 18, it's not uncommon for 15-16 year olds to ride alone, and it's not like you I.D. people when they get in.
Odds are, driver didn't want to be rude so he simply didn't ask questions, even if he could tell the girl looked a bit young. We're talking about a trip that was likely over $1,200, no Uber driver in their right mind is going to turn that down unless it's mega, mega sketchy... like an actual child (not a teenager who could be 18 for all you know).

Sometimes under unusual circumstances, like an underage-looking person taking an Uber ride unaccompanied by an adult, an Uber driver (since it's their car that's used to provide the transportation service) might and should ask questions just out of social responsibility as an underage person traveling alone can be in danger. Similarly, a delivery person delivering wine bottles, when greeted by an underage-looking person at the house might and should ask where the adult in the house is, before handing over the wine bottles, out of social responsibility as drinking can put an underage person in danger.

And there was this guy by the username DasHellaSpooky and he was the Director of Army Staff and he was exiled after being exposed for using his power to groom minors in the group. I was actually apart of the SEO community for a little bit, and everyone that was involved via patreon, discord or roblox would heavily defend this dude despite there already being evidence of him talking to minors. This most recent thing was another follow-up to the same girl he was talking to in the discord server. I remember being there whenever people started accusing him of that stuff
