Your camera work and editing is boss level. Had to share my experiences with this. I’ve had my second gen for 14 years. It’s my daily. I live in New England. I’m on my second aluminized exhaust. I got the mbrp installer series twice. I painted both systems, so I scrubbed down the entire exhaust, used a whole can of high temp primer and a whole can of high temp black paint, clamps, everything. The first exhaust lasted 8-9years! Like 200k miles. I know 4 guys that were putting on flashy polished stainless exhausts on their trucks, of varying manufacturers that year and they were all rusting off in that same time frame. They were understandingly PISSED.
One of my previous mechanics, was one of the very first guys to get 1000hp out of a single turbo vp44, no nitrous. This was 10-12 years ago. The trucks name was misery. On his quest, he tried multiple exhaust set ups to unlock any ponies as possible. I remember that they concluded that with diamond eye, he lost 15-20hp. They did three pulls for any change they did, put a different exhaust on and he got it back. That being said, dynos were not what they are today, also I wasn’t there. But I thought it might be relevant.

Hi need some kind of muffle because so loud you can not think in second gen so I did not use tow haul as a much when towing took out my transmission with heavy hauling

After some more timing driving the truck, how loud do you find it? I'm looking to get a new exhaust for my 12V and am trying to decide of between straight pipe or muffler. I drive the truck quite a bit but it's mostly driven on weekends and roadtrips. In you opinion what would you go with? I love the sound of the straight pipe

4in is pretty moderate, 5 in is definitely louder and drones a little

I’ve been running diamond eye 5 inch on my duramax for 3 winters in Utah and none of my pipes are rusting, my clamps yes rusted. Buddy of mine has been through 2 different stainless systems on his, both rusted out.

For towing/ hauling it actually is better for it to be a straight pipe. It flows easier
