      @edwardwelch7560 Your local Red Wing store should be able to replace all the hooks for free. Tell them to use the stud hooks. Otherwise you should be able to get a replacement pair due to the 1 year manufacturer warranty. Just make sure the replacement boot is from a different production run date from the original pair. Hope this helps

    I spent 250 for my boots,with really cool boa late up.god I 😘 ved them ,all 6 months. The shank broke and I tried to take them back and guess what? Told to hit the road,I was told I must be wearing the wrong socks then ,then I got them wet,all wich voided all promises. Called the 800 and told to send them in so they can see what happened and then if it was thier fault they would stand by them. Sometime later30 plus days,I recieved a new boot that was not the style I sent in. Was never ask wich one I want and if I didn't want them ,I have to pay to send them back. It's a shame and I sorry I ever spent money with this shitty company.

      To me a steel toed boot also needs a tarsal guard to protect the foot bones and not just the toes. I had boots that had both in an aluminum smelting factory for 12 years. I agree,the heritage line is more of a casual( nothing wrong with that).

      Some of the Iron Ranger reviews are hilarious. They talk about how long the break-in was and you know it’s just walking dirty city sidewalks to the next martini bar. They’ve never been on jobsites where you have to follow the tire tracks from trucks to stay out of 6” of mud.

    • @SuperSteelSteve
      @SuperSteelSteve 3 года назад +11

    • @SuperSteelSteve
      @SuperSteelSteve 3 года назад +6

      @@blauer2551 don't know what that's got to do with what I said.
      The original statement was that the boots are not work boots because they didn't have a steel toe.
      Not all guys that work on sites need steel toe.
      That was my point.
      If you wanna wear an iron ranger or the other boots on a construction site or in a ware house that doesn't require a steel toe then they seem like a solid choice.
      And just cause you don't wanna break in a boot doesn't mean other guys won't. Nobody is the gatekeeper to what is and is not a "work boot"

      It doesn't mean they're fake. It depends on the model. There are some made in Cambodia, too. You just need to do your research before blindly buying boots that you assume are made in the USA.

    The heritage line is a casual boot and not designed for any work out side of an office cubicle. Their actual work boots have been farmed out to foriegn manufacturers and are imported. Their work boot quality died with the outsourcing

      Funny, my Red wing work boots have " made in USA" labels on them, always have.

    • @peterweikel7123
      @peterweikel7123 2 года назад +1

      @@6h471 I shouldn't generalize like I do because there are a couple exceptions. It took a while on their website but I did find there are a few still assembled in the use with imported materials and fewer yet that are still showing made in the USA but the vast majority are made in Vietnam (and a couple other countries). I wear loggers because of what I do. They have 1 assembled in the US with imported materials (according to their material descriptions) with none fully made in the USA. I just pulled 11 different styles at random and of the mix 2 were made in the USA, I assembled here, 1 in Cambodia, and 6 in Vietnam. Unfortunately I remember when their boots were made in the USA and you didn't have to read all the fine print to find out where they were actually made.

    • @kieranpalen6448
      @kieranpalen6448 Год назад +3

      @@peterweikel7123 You are right and wrong. The heritage line is still manufactured here in the US and those are constructed with a hand and machine building. The work boots on the other hand are made here in the US as well as in Vietnam (depending on the model). The one thing that separates Redwing from the rest is that all the parts are made here in the US but assembled overseas. A tip is that if the tag within the boot is a white tag, it is constructed here in the US and if it is black, then the parts are shipped overseas and constructed there. One thing is, the same tanner from 80 years ago still produces the leather for all Redwing and Irish Setter boots.
