  • The TEDxManchester team first met @MaryAnneHobbs at a BBC event in Preston and again @ThinkingDigital in Gateshead where she blew us away. Currently you'll find Mary Anne at Xfm in Manchester and she was formerly a 14 year BBC Radio 1 veteran. In this great TEDTalk she tells us of her amazing journey from the backwaters of Lancashire and how heroes like John Peel and Steve Jobs inspired her to ever greater heights. Her passion for Music Worth Spreading has built her a dedicated international fan base and she advises us to "charge at your dreams and never look back."
TEDxManchester 2012 was co-curated by @herbkim & @misscroissant and hosted Cornerhouse. For future @TEDxManchester information please follow us on Twitter or you can sign up for more info at bit.ly/v4O4P8.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
