    Beyond anything Judy related, or American Males, or being Steiner's wingman, I gotta say the funniest thing I ever heard about Buff came from an aside to Cody Rhodes story.
    Bagwell is apparently alumni from the same HS Cody went to. When he made a comment to a teacher about wanting to become pro wrestler, the teacher didn't go "Oh, like your dad?" Or even anything about Dustin... they apparently sighed and gave Cody advice to "Don't be like Marcus." And this would've been in about the airbrushed tophat heyday of Buff being the stuff.

I never knew the guy... you just have this perception based on what you see on TV. Then you hear of the things he's getting into after wrestling and think "Oh yeah, he's as much of a douche as I thought he was". Dark Side made me do a 180 on him. He does genuinely seem like a good dude, and he would have to be if he's got ex-wives that are behind him. He's made his fair share of mistakes, but it's telling when a guy has an ex-wife or ex-wives and they're not sitting there hating his guts or whatever and instead seem like they want to see him do well and hope that he is well.

    WWE was riding high when they brought him in so they basically could afford to throw him away so to speak and not give him another chance because they were doing so well at the time. It seems weird to not give another chance to a guy they could make a lot of money with but they werent thinking of that at the time because they were doing so well so they didnt think he'd make much of a difference.

    I tried watching the Magnum TA episode of Dark Side of the Ring awhile back. Expecting to get a taste good ol' Crockett and before that Bill Watts' wrestling during their heyday. Instead I got WWF footage and '3' mentions of Vince McMahon in the first 90 seconds! CLICK! Just couldn't sit through more wrestling history filtered through a WWE lens.Just curious, is the guy being interviewed contractually required to kiss McMahon's ass for use of the WWE tape library, or at least mention him by name a certain number of times per hour? Sure seems that way.,

    Buff was a midcard lifer. And that’s not a bad thing. Not everyone is a main event talent. He was good in his role in WCW. I don’t see how he fit in WWF in 2001, though. They were grittier at the time (my, how times have changed), and he was more of a goofball. Again, not a bad thing, but he didn’t do anything well enough to be a top guy there.

    Wish Jim Ross was still on good terms. Buff believes it was the Booker T match and slapping Helms but Ross will tell you it was having his Mom call out sick for him that doomed him with Vince. The Booker T match doomed the WCW invasion angle

    • @theboxingboy7422
      @theboxingboy7422 7 месяцев назад

      It was a weird place to have that match aswell in Tacoma, Washington which wasn't a WCW town and they just threw them out there instead of doing it the week after when they was in Atlanta which was the home of WCW basically 😂 they was setting them up to fail right there.
      But that whole angle was bad because Vince didn't wanna pay the big stars the money to walk away from there huge WCW contracts and upset his quota and they ended up with mostly midcard-job guys to do the angle with and it didn't work because Vince wasn't gonna shine up any former WCW talent over his own.
