I love Luby's our local mall used to have it before they moved to two separate standalone stores. One of the two just closed last month but I hope the other one stays open
Can't thank you enough for posting this. I go to this mall probably every other week, and not a time goes by that I don't think of this place the way it was during the days of KB Toys, Software Etc and Suncoast. That's what I grew up on. Actually seeing it again literally brought a tear to my eye lol. Thanks for the great video
This is LEGENDARY! I’ve always loved CoolSprings Galleria, and it’s great to see all of this old footage! I 100% agree that the mall looked so much better before the 2016 renovation. Thanks for posting!
I lived in Franklin back in 1992-1996 as a teenager. My first job at 15 was the Chick-fil-A at this mall. I made $4.25 an hour. I remember working those registers and handing out samples by that mall entrance. Right after my 16th birthday Cajun Grill came in to the food court and the manager hired me making $7.50 an hour. Far more than most made back in the mid 90s. I hated that i had to move back to west Tennessee and go back to around $4 an hour once again. Thanks for the memories of this place. I enjoyed this video.
Thanks for this video, it was a really cool trip down memory lane. I worked at the Build-A-Bear Workshop here from 2007 to 2010. I also grew up in the area so this was always the mall I frequented with family and friends. I almost forgot what it used to look like!
Wow, I've been coming to this mall my whole life and its so interesting seeing it in the early 2000s! Also, coincidentally I am applying to the exact same Sbarro you worked at.
My Mamaw was craving salmon croquettes from a restaurant from the Cool Springs Galleria. She knew the restaurant was no longer open - but she couldn’t remember the name of it. She remembered it was on the first floor with a Ruby Tuesday’s on the opposite side (not in the food court)! Well, I found it thanks to this video and your 2001 clips here (minute 11:22)!!! Mystery solved! Thank you!!!!!! It was Luby’s!! :) time to make some salmon croquettes for my Mamaw!
Thanks you so much for this video It brings me so many memories I lived un Franklin from 2004 to 2009 and mall was the placer I enyoed the most spent wonderful Time with my family shopping with my sisters in RAVE, CHARLOTTE RUSS and WET SEAL loved those stores
@@SealsontheMove yes, That's it!! And seems like I bought some guitar strings there as well. I remember buying a Tom Waits CD and a Doctor Who (Tom Baker) for my husband for Christmas. The salesperson said my husband was "a cool guy" for liking these 2.☺️☺️☺️
I been at cool spring galleria before in 2010-2011 around that time when I went there they had a dance floor that was interactive. I never got to see the water feature close to escalator. When I was there playground was way different. It’s great to see the changes that were made there. Last time I went was 2021.
What do you remember about malls from your childhood? Let us know in the comments!

i miss that disney store so much!! this video brought back so many memories!
i wish there was such a detailed record of the old toys r us nearby.
I have some footage of that Toys ‘R’ Us, but not enough to make a video.

lived here all my life, this unlocked so many core memories from my childhood. thank you.
In 2001 that Pottery Barn was a Lane Bryant. I worked there and at Hot Topic that year! Great video!
Nice tour but I found the year mall was open it was built in 1991
Do you by chance remember the place that used to be Pyramid Cafe? They sold a dish called Malibu chicken with thinly sliced potatoes.
I do remember Pyramid Café. Never ate there, though.

Thank you for giving me a glimpse back into my childhood❤️
The mall was prettier back in the 2000’s. It is cold and sterile looking now.
Bring back the pink and green tile!
I wouldn't call it "thriving". There are lots of businesses but not many shoppers. Love those skylights though
It was the time of day we were there. I like to film at malls early when there are not a lot of people.
I been there
I’m trying to remember a small store that sold formal wear upstairs near Macys.
Not sure what that store could be ...
I have enjoyed this video! Thanks for showing what this mall looked like in 2001! And let me say that the music you added fits the video very well!
Thank you so much!
Franklin is a suburb of Nashville

CoolSprings has such a clean, modern look! Those skylights are so big and beautiful: So much natural light!
It's always been a great mall!
@@SealsontheMove Very true! It's one of those malls you can always count on to be great!

What was the music/video mega store that went out and JoAnn crafts is there now?? Loved that store!!
Media Play. It was in a shopping center next to the mall. I loved that place! They also sold books and video games!

Your early footage was a 2-months post 9-11. Thanks for this, greatly appreciated.
Thanks for watching!
