Great video guys! I’m in a state control store as well so it’s great to share our pain 😂. Keep up the great work and thank the algorithms for working you guys are great!
North Alabama resident here. I love what your doing. Making the best of a sad control state situation. Instead of standing in line for this ABC drop, the wife and took our granddaughter to Adventure Science Center in Nashville. One the way up at Elixir Spirits in Spring Hill, i picked up a Barrell Batch 35 and Pinhook Vertical 7. Lots of store picks at Elixir! At Total Wines in Brentwood, I got store picks of Copper & Cask and Stellum. Those two stores alone would make awesome bourbon hunting videos for your channel. Y'all's good people.
I'm another Birmingham area (eastern side) whiskey collector who is thoroughly disgusted by our state's spirits laws. I had to get some work done on my car, and the garage shares a parking lot with the Trussville store. At about 8am, there were around 25 people in line. I admire their dedication, but they shouldn't have to go through this just to get a good pour. Many of these same bottles are on the shelf just across the border in Georgia and Tennessee, and citizens of those states can also order whatever they want and have it delivered to them via the mail, though rarely at MSRP. It's way past time for Alabama to change their laws.
I've written my state congressman and senator about this and related issues. No reply. Why am I not surprised? But I do have a bit of hope. It wasn't so long ago that craft beer was illegal in Alabama and there was no such thing as breweries or taprooms. Thanks to the Free The Hops movement, laws were changed and so we can now enjoy beer other than Budweiser. It's going to take the same sort of effort, if not moreso, to change spirits laws.@@tillersbourbonchallenge
