  • What Happens if you Come Back To Sindri's House After you Beat The Game?
    God of War Ragnarök is an upcoming action-adventure video game developed by Santa Monica Studio and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It is scheduled to be released worldwide on November 9, 2022, for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. It will be the ninth installment in the God of War series, the ninth chronologically, and the sequel to 2018's God of War. Loosely based on Norse mythology, the game will be set in ancient Scandinavia and feature series protagonist Kratos and his teenage son Atreus. Serving as the finale to the Norse era of the series, the game will cover Ragnarök, a series of events that bring about the end of days, and depicts the deaths of some of the Norse gods, which was foretold to happen in the previous game after Kratos killed the Æsir god Baldur.

    The amount of respect Kratos is giving others is warming. Addressing others as more than "Head" "Squirrel" and fully using their names as he becomes the god he deserves to be after decades of torment. It's nice to see him doing well. It’s weird hearing Kratos use people’s names. Shows character growth. He is better. Says “you’re welcome” too.
    My favorite moment was when he called Mimir brother. It was nice. Also when he said Sindri was his family.
    His heart really has softened and opened up. Faye was a huge reason for it. But it also ties back to Pandora when she gave him hope. Even on his quest for vengeance, she was the only one he didn’t hurt nor want to hurt.

      I thought deeply about this series and realized that this story had always been about love, protecting your love ones, and endless grief when you inevitably couldn't. Kratos and Atreus split ways because they wanted to protect one another, everything they did came out of a place of love. Freya wanted to protect her son, and Sif what remains of her family. Thor's anger, what finally encouraged to stand up to Odin, was him wish to protect his family, for Thrúd. Sindri was driven by his love too! He loved Atreus like an uncle, and protected him whenever he could.
      That one cutscene with Faye and Kratos puts it so beautiful, "to grieve is to have loved fully". And love was what had driven Freya and Sindri to their darkest places too, Freya allowing her life to be taken for her son; Sindri's refusal to grieve was what drove him to drag Brok back, denying him to chance of an afterlife, breaking him entirely.
      To love is to grieve but as people we will never stop loving. That's why the cycle will never end. :,)

It’s easy to ignore the faults of the characters we love, but Atreus made a mistake. What matters is he owned up to it and tried to make up for it. He shouldn’t be criticized too harshly for falling for something everyone did in the end, but it’s also a lesson he needs to learn, and is an entirely realistic mistake, that in his excitement he missed the obvious signs, much like everybody else.

    Honestly, I see Brok's death as the final straw in Sindri's mounting frustrations with Atreus and Kratos, especially Atreus. Kratos, as far as we saw in game anyway, didn't do to much around the home, he simply ate, slept, and went on quests through the realms. I'm not saying Kratos didn't hold up his share when we were playing as Atreus, but from what we see, he didn't. At least "Tyr" cooked, and Freya, when she finally joined, grew herbs to keep everyone healthy. Now, as to why I say "Especially Atreus". It's revealed early on that Sindri was dragged into Atreus' borderline suicide mission to find Tyr, and Sindri goes along with it because he obviously believes Atreus is onto something and was kept within the loop. Then Odin shows up, and suddenly Atreus starts hiding stuff, bit by bit, and we see that Sindri is getting fed up with being kept out of the loop(though he isn't the only one, he takes the most offence to it aside from Kratos). We even hear him reprimanding Atreus when we get back from Vanaheim for the first time after helping Freya. Then finally, after all the secret keeping, all the sneaking off, we find out the Tyr Atreus and Kratos finds, the one they brought into Sindri's home, the one who cooked for them and preached about peace, was Odin, and killed Brok because he was annoyed by the dwarf. In Sindri's eyes, Atreus is the root cause of Brok's death. If Atreus hadn't gone looking for Tyr, if Atreus hadn't tried to trick Odin, if Atreus had just been honest with them all, then Brok would still be alive. Now, obviously from a logical stand point, that's not the case. Odin would have still likely killed one of them, most likely Brok considering he was the only one actually suspicious of "Tyr". It wouldn't have mattered if Atreus kept everyone in the dark or not, but Sindri doesn't see it that way, and as far as he's concerned, it's all ultimately Atreus' fault

    People saying they want Sindri to heal through his grief to come help again probably missed the part where it was said that Brok didn't just die. Sindri is living now with the knowledge that he let them come into his place, he helped them with all of this, they took and took from him, and now? Not only is his brother dead but his soul is just GONE. No coming back, no afterlife. He's flat out gone. It's going to take more than sorries to accept any kind of rift. Yeah, he chose to help but Kratos is smart enough to know his bitterness isn't just bitterness that his brother died. All of that could have been prevented. It IS Atreus's fault and Kratos's. It's also Sindri's. It's Odin's. They all played their part in that set up to Sindri's ultimate grief. But Kratos and Atreus still have each other, they saved each others lives at the cost of Brok's.
    (There's literally a saying somewhere about to save a life another must pay the cost.)
    The smartest and healthiest thing for Sindri is to walk away and separate from them. It isn't just bad blood and anger, it's guilt and hurt, grief and the knowledge that wherever they went, they were going to cause violence and death. Now, Kratos gets to be the god he wanted and I truly love that for him, Atreus gets to go find himself. I think Sindri should be given the decency to let him walk away and heal with new people, far from the main protags. To expect him to forgive is kind of... too much. Especially knowing that Brok isn't just dead, he's been wiped completely and there's no consoling that. That's the biggest and hardest kick for a brother and not so easy to forgive considering there's no chance of closure.

    • @aurolaf
      @aurolaf Год назад +1

      Didn't Brok chose not to be 'revived'? It's not that his soul was wiped completely but Brok simply didn't want Sindri to go through all the trouble to collect his souls again (which he was still missing a few) so the dwarves can accept him back again to the village.

    • @SigmaGuardian66
      @SigmaGuardian66 Год назад +11

      @@aurolaf No from the games story we learn Brok is missing the "direction" piece of his soul which allows the souls to make their way to the Light of Alfheim. With it missing, and his second death, his soul no longer can find its direction and thus cannot make its way to the Light.

    • @TonksTheFool
      @TonksTheFool Год назад +3

      @@aurolaf Yeah, he chose not to be revived. He told Sindri to let him go. But the missing few part was what means he'd disappear and I don't know if Brok himself knew entirely what that meant. The one he first lost was the guidance part when he was brought back the first time, and it's said that denies him an afterlife if he were to die again. People think it means he's wandering but the 'guidance' part is gone entirely and that means so is wandering. Because even wandering souls can be guided to move on, they're still 'looking' for something to move on from/to. That's a part of the guidance peice too. But lacking it, he just disappears. Period. No guidance = no closure.

      I believe if you follow the mythology, Freya has 2 daughters that haven't been introduced yet.
      Also Freya is definitely casting her hook, and she's not being very subtle about it. Kratos is the one who's not biting, probably due to still mourning Faye. Once he has some time to heal, I think the two will eventually hit it off. Not without the occasional turbulance because they're both gods with issues, but I think there's enough of a basis for a strong, healthy, if sometimes tempestuous relationship.

    I have no idea how people keep blaming Kratos and Atreus for Brok's death, let alone his soul being gone. The soul part was 100% Sindri's fault, and Brok's death was _nobody's_ fault, Atreus and Kratos literally did _nothing_ wrong
    Atreus chased Tyr because he was the broker of peace, the uniter of realms, the only one who could possibly avert Ragnarok and/or stop Odin in their eyes. I say that is completely, totally justified. Sindri was even helping Atreus, no? Odin's impersonation fooled _everyone,_ it's not like Sindri was saying "Don't bring Tyr into our house" and then Atreus did it anyway. It's nobody's fault. Definitely not Atreus's.
