I've used God knows how many stop "blocks " in the 30 + years of woodworking. Saw the one from jkm and I've never looked back. That has to be the best stop block I've ever used.

This is really clever. I've watched a lot of your videos and gotten many good tips, but this is by far your best tip/jig/gadget. Not seen anyone make one quite like this. Well done and thanks alot.
If I was made of money, I would consider a CNC machine. Since I'm not, and since my money tree died years ago, I'll have to forgo the CNC idea. As for the saw sled, I had my materials delivered today with the exception of the T-track, and I'll be starting on that probably tomorrow. I also bought the plans for the router table, which I'll also be building this week. I'm excited to get those done to use on my next project!
Pretty nice sled, I like how it's just enough not gadgety and straight forward, looks like it's simple enough for someone just starting also so I'll be able to recommend it to new woodworkers.
I added an outfeed table to my table saw with positive stops in the groves for the miter track slides. This prevents the cross cut sled from going far enough to expose the blade at the rear.
This table saw sled was my first summer project after getting a new table saw. Next the kids wanted a gaming table so I built the SuperPly Gaming Table by Gordon Frank. In the process i purchased many, many accessories that you reviewed and recommended. They are too numerous to list but they made my work so much easier and safer. One I will mention was the Bow XT Xtender. Cutting large pieces of plywood and lumber all by myself was so much easier with this product you recommended. In all it has been a great summer getting back into woodworking and I have totally enjoyed your videos. It appears you have found your niche leaving your previous career path. Keep the videos coming! That's definitely the Most Coolerest table saw sled I've ever seen. When I get around to building one, it'll be cause I've moved on building primarily interior furniture, or it'll because I had to give up the day job to do wood stuff full time.
This is a very cool sled nicely done, you know you could put a stop block on your outfeed table since you have tracks already in it and then you would never have to worry about cutting through your sled and possibly nicking your hand and setting off your brake on the sawstop
Matt I haven't seen one of your videos in a little while and you've really stepped up your game on presentation and smooth video work. I know a lot of work goes into the backend to pretty everything up but it looks great. And that sled looks great too. I also appreciate that you offered a free update to folks who might have purchased the old plans. Speaks of your character.
A few weeks ago, I decided that I wanted to build Jason's (Bourbonmoth) table saw sled. I watched this video a few times now, and I REALLY like the handles on this sled. They add a safety element that I have never seen in a table saw sled. What I am going to do, is a hybrid sled, a mix between your design, and Jason's, and I'm going to try adding in another design element of my own, HOPEFULLY a way to extend the Multi Track to make longer crosscuts with a stop block. I just ordered the plans for this, as well as your Shop Projects Plan Bundle. EDIT I didn't notice that this was included in the "Shop Projects Bundle" OOOOPS
I did the exact same thing! Forgot about the riving knife. It took a minute or so before I banged my forehead with the palm of my hand and shouted, "DOH!" The good news is you only make this mistake once in your entire life. By the way, your Microjig style tapering jig inspired me to build my own. Love your channel and your southern accent. All my relatives are from the south. You remind me of them. ❤ Keep up the great videos. Now I have to go buy some "tuba fours". Cheers brother.

So I asked for these plans from Santa and finally built this today. SOOOO much better than my old sled. Half the weight which I love and the dovetail clamps are awesome. I'll have this for a long long time!
I do not have a time to design a sled for my new table saw. Im going to build this one. I love the handle design and the matchfit system which will match my workbench. nice work Matt! Plans purchased!
The quality of this video is awesome, great job! I need to make a new sled, too - for the same reason: the "wart" at the back is just not enough to feel save when using the sled, so the idea with the handles is just what was missing to finally get started.
Another great build, a while ago I bought on Amazon a set of 3/4 by 3/8 bars that fit in slot of my table saw with the intention of making one now that I saw your build I want to that one, they also carry a set of bars with pre drilled holes and screws I may get also thanks for the video

Great design for a safe cross cut slide. Like the idea of the handles to keep your hands away from the blade. Got the plans and they made it easier to follow step by step. Now just waiting for ordered parts. Thanks for sharing.
These stop blocks would work better if the T Rail was off center. With the T Rail centered the stop block is angled. Also, this stop block doesn't work for 3/4 inch thick wood (the most frequently sized wood I use) with the higher back fence at 3 1/2 inches. 3/4 inch wood slides under the stop block.

Nice work Matt! I love this! My old criss cut asked had been sitting in the corner collecting dust for a while, it's large and cumbersome to move and store! It's also similar to your old sled in that I have a block of wood covering the area where the blade comes out... Which is what I always seem to grab for to slide it making it very dangerous! This is definitley the best cross cut sled design I've ever seen! Can't wait to make mine!
Awesome video! 2 ideas. Make the safety block so the 2 center pieces can be replaced. Extend your rear fence wider to maintain strength considering the dove tail groves
I prefer the HPDE miter glides. The glides stay smooth my problem with wooden ones is if your shop humidity is perfect the rails can swell. They also seem to get nicked easier.
Great design, Matt. You sold me at dowel handles. My current sled has been stripped down for a rebuild that never seemed to happen. With a new CNC coming in next month, I need to get a few things in place and this plan looks fast and appropriate for what I do. And a special thanks for linking to the 5-cut calculator (again).
Just finished building this crosscut sled and I really like it. Sturdy, not too heavy, and it is accurate. My only problem was getting the fence aligned properly. I used the 5 cut method and I’m not a dummy nor a genius but I just couldn’t get the alignment right. The best I could get was .032 and nothing better. I cut some squares and did the corner to corner measurement and they came out exactly the same. So I’m good with that. Plans were good with a couple of inaccurate items. The center block is pictured with four layers of ply. There is a comment to cut these 2 from the extra ply. But the cut list only shows 2. No big deal, it all worked out. Thanks for this design. Wish I had it many years ago, might hav.e saved half my right thumb. That was a big ouch!
I have seen so many people hurt by table saws I have refused to use one even though my garage is full of tools lol. It's just the most dangerous, by design

Nice sled! Looks like I need to make a new one. I already have the Microjig dovetail clamps and router bit. Only change I suggest is making your runners out of polyurethane...like from a cutting board. You'll never have to worry about them swelling or shrinking due to humidity.

Going to make this One thing I might do is on the centre block where you don't wat to put your hand I'm going to do a mitre on each piece to create a sharp point all the way round that way if I do put my hand there it will remind me not to and make it difficult and uncomfortable to hold or use
Love the dowel handles! Also, I looked almost identical to you last week trying to cut through a new zero clearance insert with my riving knife in lol. Keep up the clever designs and great content!

Great improvements Matt! Would you consider letting everyone know for this and future videos rough time (just building estimate), along with rough costs at time of video. Obviously time and some cost will carry but a general ball park. I notice this among many you tube and would be greatest helpful for us garage warriors who are both time and money limited. This will be incredibly helpful to determine when a viewer may want to or be able to build your projects. Ex: roughly $130 and 5 hours building. I’ll check out buying your plan but it would be nice to have the info upfront when watching vs digging more which may or may not happen. Thanks! - God Bless

I hope you really consider since you know the information already and are trying to provide good informative content. I listen/watch a lot on the go or while in the shop working on other things. I can certainly look up each, or spit ball price and time , though not always the case for time management. And many may not have a clue. I feel like if you lead with "THE BUILD, BENEFIT, COST, TIME" it would frame the rest of your content well, and clearly define what's going on. (what, why, how much, when).
Nice job Matt! I like your idea of the handles to make sure hands stay out of the way! I was thinking- if you sometimes take the secondary fence off, maybe you could attach it to the back of the sled under the handles with some extra dovetail grooves, to make sure it doesn’t get misplaced?
Use wax on the bottom of the sled to make it slide even easier. I wax my table saw surface as well. I made a sled that is similar...with a hand guard like yours.
Am upgrading my sled from the newbie version. I like 2 route my t-tracks directly n2 the wood with a 1/4" & a t-slot. They slide much better than matchfit or aluminum IMO. LOVE the handle. I'm using it on every jig going forward. And it's so simple 2 make. Also adding a katz-moses flip stop 2 go on the fence. Thx 4 the vid.
I mostly use 2x4 and pallet wood. So that's out for a sled. So a lowes run is in order. So a 1/2" plywood base and then any hardwood for the runners? I got a small area to work in so I still got a small jobsite saw to work with. Hopefully this will make life a little easy.
I like it, a lot. Think I'll borrow a few ideas from it for the one I'm making for my little baby table saw (well, it's not a miniature, but it sure ain't as freaking awesome as yours), and when I get an actual work area, then I can expand and get a setup nice enough to do stuff like this. 🤣

One of my fav channels, wish you’d go back to building things more though like before. To many lives and tool reviews which are also good content and good info but seems like it’s been limited to that anymore.
Great sled! I like the handle idea also. WHY?, didn't anyone else think of that? I also like that when you make a mistake you don't have a problem showing it so others don't make the same one. One improvement you might want to make. You could make a larger table for your trim router with some 1/4" plastic sheeting. It makes your small router so much safer. Just one question, Why did you use wood instead of "T" track for runners?
i like your improvements. However, I'm toying with the idea of having replaceable blade inserts in case I shift to a different width blade or even dado blades.

Clipping those front corners off would reduce the weight considerably without affecting performance. Those handles are a great idea!

I've never heard of the five cut method. That's a pretty cool tip.

I have seen so many people hurt by table saws I have refused to use one even though my garage is full of tools lol. It's just the most dangerous, by design

That's a great looking sled. Last one I tried to build is setting off by my scrap pile. Got tired of trying to get a square cut from it!

Nice sled! Looks like I need to make a new one. I already have the Microjig dovetail clamps and router bit. Only change I suggest is making your runners out of polyurethane...like from a cutting board. You'll never have to worry about them swelling or shrinking due to humidity.

One thing I might do is on the centre block where you don't wat to put your hand I'm going to do a mitre on each piece to create a sharp point all the way round that way if I do put my hand there it will remind me not to and make it difficult and uncomfortable to hold or use
Love the dowel handles! Also, I looked almost identical to you last week trying to cut through a new zero clearance insert with my riving knife in lol. Keep up the clever designs and great content!

Great improvements Matt! Would you consider letting everyone know for this and future videos rough time (just building estimate), along with rough costs at time of video. Obviously time and some cost will carry but a general ball park. I notice this among many you tube and would be greatest helpful for us garage warriors who are both time and money limited. This will be incredibly helpful to determine when a viewer may want to or be able to build your projects. Ex: roughly $130 and 5 hours building. I’ll check out buying your plan but it would be nice to have the info upfront when watching vs digging more which may or may not happen. Thanks! - God Bless

I hope you really consider since you know the information already and are trying to provide good informative content. I listen/watch a lot on the go or while in the shop working on other things. I can certainly look up each, or spit ball price and time , though not always the case for time management. And many may not have a clue. I feel like if you lead with "THE BUILD, BENEFIT, COST, TIME" it would frame the rest of your content well, and clearly define what's going on. (what, why, how much, when).

I was thinking- if you sometimes take the secondary fence off, maybe you could attach it to the back of the sled under the handles with some extra dovetail grooves, to make sure it doesn’t get misplaced?

Great timing! Been building a sled in my garage all weekend, was just about to finish putting it together.
Use wax on the bottom of the sled to make it slide even easier. I wax my table saw surface as well. I made a sled that is similar...with a hand guard like yours.
Am upgrading my sled from the newbie version. I like 2 route my t-tracks directly n2 the wood with a 1/4" & a t-slot. They slide much better than matchfit or aluminum IMO. LOVE the handle. I'm using it on every jig going forward. And it's so simple 2 make. Also adding a katz-moses flip stop 2 go on the fence. Thx 4 the vid.

I mostly use 2x4 and pallet wood. So that's out for a sled. So a lowes run is in order. So a 1/2" plywood base and then any hardwood for the runners? I got a small area to work in so I still got a small jobsite saw to work with. Hopefully this will make life a little easy.

Did the same thing with a riving knife a month ago. Took me a good twenty minutes to figure it out.
Great sled! I like the handle idea also. WHY?, didn't anyone else think of that? I also like that when you make a mistake you don't have a problem showing it so others don't make the same one. One improvement you might want to make. You could make a larger table for your trim router with some 1/4" plastic sheeting. It makes your small router so much safer. Just one question, Why did you use wood instead of "T" track for runners?

i like your improvements. However, I'm toying with the idea of having replaceable blade inserts in case I shift to a different width blade or even dado blades.
