Thank you!!! I always say this. As much as stelena was one of the main plots of the show season 1-3, it wasn't the only thing about the show. Both of them weren't always only talking or worrying about each other. But with delena, they only ever cared about each other. The whole show revolved around them and that was it.
the only reason people like damon is because of the actor playing him , ian is so hansome he is freakin gorgeous . people fell in love with how ian portrayed the character. thats why in books elena and stefan end up together.

Damon has some really toxic tendencies that are overlooked because he’s hot. Just like chuck from gossip girl. And so many other couples. Bad boys are romanticized because they are hot and “bad boys”, but in the end they are really just bad people, and in real life they would hurt you bad and there would be no coming back from that. Not even “love” or whatever delusion they think to be love would change them, because in real life if someone really is a murderer or rapist, or a criminal capable of horrible things, they don’t change just like that, because of a simple girl.

(he didn’t want her to be human and go back to Stefan, but damon gave it to her anyway). She took the cure, and even tho her life got linked to Bonnie’s and didn’t have much human elena life, in the last 2 episodes after she took the cure and she still had a strong love for Damon. so even tho, yes, human Elena had Stefan, and vampire elena had damon, even after she became human again, she still loved damon. so, stefan wasn’t always Elena’s human Choice.

the reason why I chose stelena: stefan was always very understanding towards elena and her decisions, and he did not break her relationship with her brother even though they love the same girl. always protected his older brother, his real family. he even gave up everything in his own life just to save his brother's life and left. damon got closer to elena while he was being tormented, and it didn't look like damon was in pain without his brother. when Stefan returned, damon had indeed stolen the girl he loved. everyone blamed stefan as if he was acting like this on purpose and no one saw what he was going through. despite this, stefan showed understanding to elena and damon, no matter how heartbroken. elena is also to blame for their separation. in the series, it is shown as if she is very attached to stefan, but in fact, she gave up on stefan so easily. despite all that stefan did for her... i think everyone loves damon because of ian. i love damon too but i never loved delena and guess i won't. stefan and elena always be my favorite.

The scriptwritters chose damon as elena's love for a reason Damon was always second compared to stefan. His parents chose stefan, katherine chose stefan and even elena chose stefan at first until she realised how broken damon was. She fixed him and changed him. Damon needed her in his life and as rose said even elena needed damon in her life. He challenged her and made her question everything whereas stefen's love was pure and innocent. Damon made elena nervous by just looking at her whereas with stefan she didnt have that kind of chemistry. So in my defense damon is exactly the right guy for her

The bad guy is always more attractive. :P I personnally thought that Stelena was a little boring, no passion, they looked like an old couple from the first day. Delena is so much powerful, intense, passionate and you could tell from the very beginning that Elena's feelings for him were growing and growing. I think that even if she had stayed human all along, she would have eventually gone for him... Actually it should have been Stelena but Nina Dobrev left the show and the producers did not want to rush things to go back to Stelena. In my eyes it still would have made more sense.
I remember watching an interview a long time ago from Julie Plec. She said that the original plan/storyline that she imagined was Stelena endgame. But when Nina left they had to tie up her story. Julie said if Stelena was to happen, she wanted it to be a gradual realization, so they chose to make Delena endgame. Personally I don’t hate the beginning of the Delena story, but around season 5 onward (I think season 5, sorry I haven’t watched the show in ages) it kind of became too much. I would have loved to seen Stelena endgame and Nina to have stayed for the last two seasons.
yes damon was impulsive but being with elena helped him learn to control it. then being together helped both of them tremendously. it helped damon to control himself and it helped elena learn how to embrace both sides of herself good and bad so she could balance it out. they're love was more powerful than anything and they were endgame because they balanced eachtother out and loved eachother so much. it was envitable, they were perfect for eachother. they even beat the doppelganger curse thing where the doppelgangers were destined to be together 💕

You just perfectly described everything about why i like stelena more, even their vision life was better than delena's relationship. Elena and Stefan were so pure together. They were incredibly cute to watch together on TVD , Stefan's love for Elena was everlasting, real and innocent in this "first real love" type of way. Damon and Elena was toxic, Damon gets away with EVERYTHING because he is attractive. If Stefan did things Damon did , most people would hate Stefan. So, I just got into the Vampire Diaries a couple of months ago, and I knew of it, but never watched it. Anyway, I immediately chose Stefan over Damon, even though they're both hot, but Stefan doesn't have to try lol. I was rooting for Stelena and when they broke up I was so sad. They were perfect and reminded me of Clark and Lana. Another ship cast aside for the “More popular ship.” I feel like people want a love like Damon when they're young and crazy, but a love with Stefan is definitely marriage material. If Stefan was real and asked me to marry him, I’d say yes and this is from a guy’s point of view.

When I see Delena's romance scenes I feel like I'm reading between the line as to what I see playing out on the screen. But when I see Stelena I feel their romantic chemistry through the screen. There just so magical. Watching this show late has its perks and downfalls so I knew she was going to chose Damon already and I was honestly dreading it. By the time the Mikelesons through the ball I thought beforehand that Selena was gone but even when no humanity Stefan got to dance with Elena I felt the romantic chemistry FLOODING BACK. Im at season five right now and the fact that no memory stefan forgot EvErYtHiNg but still feel in love with Elena in less than 24 hours just proves Stefan unconditional love for Elena. Like listen, I get the whole Damon look and honestly he's one of my most favorite characters on the show but I just don't get Delena. I felt bad for Damon when he was always second to his brother all the time and I felt bad that he fell for Elena too but this is just the writers fault. It can't be because they wanted Damon to have an epic love because from what I've seen in the comment sections on some of these videos is that he ended up with Bonnie in the books. Which honestly I ship. Yes, I know that Nina Dobrev leaves the show but I would think that it's not like season ends, next season starts filming than "oh by the way I'm leaving the show". This vid has a point but I think the writers wanted to put Stefans death as his character's closure and it make sense that Dullena would end up together. I remember what rose said before that Stefan is good for elena, but Damon could either be the worst or the best thing for her. I think the writers wanted to use damon's character as sonething that would challenge elena's morals as a character. Damon's actions weren't ideal but as a pair with Elena, they made each other better in some ways.
I will always prefer Stelena over Delena! Both relationships were full of passion, but Stelena was much healthier and wholesome, they had more in common. Plus while they both messed up, I think Damon crossed way more lines than Stefan bordering on abusive behavior, while Stefan always let Elena make her own choices and he trusted her. Most of Stelena’s issues were external, while most of Delena’s issues were internal. Delena brought the worst out of each other, Stelena brought the best out of each other.

I remember I was in college when TVD first aired, and I was such a Delena girl. Now that I'm older and have rewatched the show, I am definitely a Stelena girl, well mostly Stefan. Elena annoyed me half the time. I don't understand how Elena chose Damon after everything he'd done.
The only thing ruining both ships is Elena. That’s the truth. Damon’s character is actually very well developed through the series, but it is Elena that’s screwing everything up. Not because of Nina but the writers. Delena had much bigger potential until the writers decided to rush their relationship (pressure from the audience blah-blah). Damon was indeed impulsive, made a lot of mistakes, but stood by Elena’s side no matter what, as Caroline said in S6: “in good and bad times”. And he actually tried to make her hate him and defended Stefan every time Elena had a “i don’t know”-phase. Stefan, however, had a tendency of just not being there and tried too many times to turn Elena against Damon. All in all, Elena was a mess after the 3rd season, except from the 6th season where we saw some really good improvements. So, basically, Damon was better off without her, not the other way around. Despite all of that, I still love Delena, I think they are endgame and respect Stelena, as it should be. ps. About that last scene in the video from S6, after Elena erased her memories. In the next episode Damon says to Elena that he has to let her go, not for the first time actually, don’t forget the breakup in S5, the compulsion in S2. So, he really tried, but she just kept coming back. Not that he didn’t want it but he really tried to stay away. Annd about how Damon fought with the compulsion. He told Jeremy many times to shoot him in the heart in order to resist the compulsion.

It's time to be honest, the show was full of misogyny, Damon was a misogynistic character and often the show would excuse Damon's abuses (most commonly towards Elena but also towards other female characters like Caroline, Bonnie or Andy) and portray him as a misunderstood person who no one valued his efforts. They made Elena and Stefan excuse their problems as if it was their responsibility to take care of Damon's problems and not his own. And the show always resorted to blaming Katherine for Damon's wrongdoing every chance it got to make him look good.

We can say the love between Elena and Stefan is because of said bond but it actually isn't, and the love they shared through the series is enough proof. And Elena felt the same... she just didn't know about anything supernatural at first but then it's not like this is an obstacle to love someone. When Damon is trapped in the prison world and Elena tells Ric to forget him, Stefan later says that Damon made her better and Elena made him better, even when Elena says “how could I possibly love Damon?”, he believed in Delena. Again, when Damon and Elena break up in season 6, Stefan talks individually to each of them and tells them that they are perfect for each other and they need each other. Stefan is actually happy for Damon finally getting Elena, because he knew they needed each other
Actually I was also disappointed about the ending of Stelena. But after that I was like Elena was not the right one. Stefan deserves someone better. Caroline was the best for him. Their frnship and love all evolved slowly but it was epic❤️

Stefan was always the better boyfriend, and Stelena was definitely better. But i'm not mad Elena ended with Damon bc Stefan deserved better... and he got better! Damon as a character is great, he embraced being a villain and he was so good at it. But he was never good enough to be in a relationship and his controlling, selfish behavior proved it. Even the fact that he put Elena over everyone, including the people she cared for and would die for, make him bad for a relationship. I rather have Elena stay with Damon than with Stefan, those two are a mess and they deserve each other, but there's no denying that Stelena was a healthier relationship and it was pure, passionate love.
It’s just my personal opinion but I didn’t see chemistry between Stefan and Elena, I wanted Stefan to be with Lexi instead. They had better connection and understanding of each other. Plus Lexi was such a cool character and it’s a shame they killed her so quickly. Delena sure was toxic at times, just like Klaroline, but I loved the sparks between them. Bottom line, there is no “better” or “worse”, it’s a matter of personal preference. And guys remember, it’s a fictional show about vampires/monsters. The fact that someone likes couples like Delena or Klaroline doesn’t mean they want toxic situations in their relationships. This show is just for fun, no need to argue with each other over stuff like that.

the reason why I chose stelena: stefan was always very understanding towards elena and her decisions, and he did not break her relationship with her brother even though they love the same girl. always protected his older brother, his real family. he even gave up everything in his own life just to save his brother's life and left. damon got closer to elena while he was being tormented, and it didn't look like damon was in pain without his brother. when Stefan returned, damon had indeed stolen the girl he loved. everyone blamed stefan as if he was acting like this on purpose and no one saw what he was going through. despite this, stefan showed understanding to elena and damon, no matter how heartbroken. elena is also to blame for their separation. in the series, it is shown as if she is very attached to stefan, but in fact, she gave up on stefan so easily. despite all that stefan did for her... i think everyone loves damon because of ian. i love damon too but i never loved delena and guess i won't. stefan and elena always be my favorite.

Damon was always second compared to stefan. His parents chose stefan, katherine chose stefan and even elena chose stefan at first until she realised how broken damon was. She fixed him and changed him. Damon needed her in his life and as rose said even elena needed damon in her life. He challenged her and made her question everything whereas stefen's love was pure and innocent. I remember watching an interview a long time ago from Julie Plec. She said that the original plan/storyline that she imagined was Stelena endgame. But when Nina left they had to tie up her story. Julie said if Stelena was to happen, she wanted it to be a gradual realization, so they chose to make Delena endgame. Personally I don’t hate the beginning of the Delena story, but around season 5 onward (I think season 5, sorry I haven’t watched the show in ages) it kind of became too much. I would have loved to seen Stelena endgame and Nina to have stayed for the last two seasons.

yes damon was impulsive but being with elena helped him learn to control it. then being together helped both of them tremendously. it helped damon to control himself and it helped elena learn how to embrace both sides of herself good and bad so she could balance it out. they're love was more powerful than anything and they were endgame because they balanced eachtother out and loved eachother so much. it was envitable, they were perfect for eachother. they even beat the doppelganger curse thing where the doppelgangers were destined to be together 💕

Elena and Stefan were so pure together. They were incredibly cute to watch together on TVD , Stefan's love for Elena was everlasting, real and innocent in this "first real love" type of way. So, I just got into the Vampire Diaries a couple of months ago, and I knew of it, but never watched it. Anyway, I immediately chose Stefan over Damon, even though they're both hot, but Stefan doesn't have to try lol. I was rooting for Stelena and when they broke up I was so sad. They were perfect and reminded me of Clark and Lana. Another ship cast aside for the “More popular ship.” I feel like people want a love like Damon when they're young and crazy, but a love with Stefan is definitely marriage material. If Stefan was real and asked me to marry him, I’d say yes and this is from a guy’s point of view.

When I see Delena's romance scenes I feel like I'm reading between the line as to what I see playing out on the screen.
But when I see Stelena I feel their romantic chemistry through the screen. There just so magical.
Watching this show late has its perks and downfalls so I knew she was going to chose Damon already and I was honestly dreading it.
By the time the Mikelesons through the ball I thought beforehand that Selena was gone but even when no humanity Stefan got to dance with Elena I felt the romantic chemistry FLOODING BACK.
Im at season five right now and the fact that no memory stefan forgot EvErYtHiNg but still feel in love with Elena in less than 24 hours just proves Stefan unconditional love for Elena.
Like listen, I get the whole Damon look and honestly he's one of my most favorite characters on the show but I just don't get Delena.
I felt bad for Damon when he was always second to his brother all the time and I felt bad that he fell for Elena too but this is just the writers fault.

This vid has a point but I think the writers wanted to put Stefans death as his character's closure and it make sense that Dullena would end up together. I remember what rose said before that Stefan is good for elena, but Damon could either be the worst or the best thing for her. I think the writers wanted to use damon's character as sonething that would challenge elena's morals as a character. Damon's actions weren't ideal but as a pair with Elena, they made each other better in some ways.

I will always prefer Stelena over Delena! Both relationships were full of passion, but Stelena was much healthier and wholesome, they had more in common. Plus while they both messed up, I think Damon crossed way more lines than Stefan bordering on abusive behavior, while Stefan always let Elena make her own choices and he trusted her. Most of Stelena’s issues were external, while most of Delena’s issues were internal. Delena brought the worst out of each other, Stelena brought the best out of each other.

The only thing ruining both ships is Elena. That’s the truth. Damon’s character is actually very well developed through the series, but it is Elena that’s screwing everything up. Not because of Nina but the writers. Delena had much bigger potential until the writers decided to rush their relationship (pressure from the audience blah-blah). Damon was indeed impulsive, made a lot of mistakes, but stood by Elena’s side no matter what, as Caroline said in S6: “in good and bad times”. And he actually tried to make her hate him and defended Stefan every time Elena had a “i don’t know”-phase. Stefan, however, had a tendency of just not being there and tried too many times to turn Elena against Damon. All in all, Elena was a mess after the 3rd season, except from the 6th season where we saw some really good improvements. So, basically, Damon was better off without her, not the other way around.
Despite all of that, I still love Delena, I think they are endgame and respect Stelena, as it should be.
ps. About that last scene in the video from S6, after Elena erased her memories. In the next episode Damon says to Elena that he has to let her go, not for the first time actually, don’t forget the breakup in S5, the compulsion in S2. So, he really tried, but she just kept coming back. Not that he didn’t want it but he really tried to stay away.
Annd about how Damon fought with the compulsion. He told Jeremy many times to shoot him in the heart in order to resist the compulsion.

It's time to be honest, the show was full of misogyny, Damon was a misogynistic character and often the show would excuse Damon's abuses (most commonly towards Elena but also towards other female characters like Caroline, Bonnie or Andy) and portray him as a misunderstood person who no one valued his efforts. They made Elena and Stefan excuse their problems as if it was their responsibility to take care of Damon's problems and not his own. And the show always resorted to blaming Katherine for Damon's wrongdoing every chance it got to make him look good.

Yes, Elena sort of love also Damon but it is mostly attraction to the dark part of being a vampire; Elena became attracted by him because he was the exact opposite of Stefan , who was the good vampire, while at that time Damon was still a villain and she was attracted to that darkness he bringed with him... just the way Caroline was attracted by Klaus... only that Klaus truly love Caroline (a love that wan't one sided from Caroline part anyway) for what she is, the good and the bad, the loving girl and the perky one.
Damon fell in love with Elena because she is the carbon copy of Katherine, literally he saw Elena as a rebound or rather (if you want to play the devil's advocate) a second chance with Katherine, because with her didn't go well but still... if Elena wasn't Katherine's doppelgange, the night they met (the night she nearly died and was saved by Stefan) surely she would just have been another victim of his. Again, when Damon and Elena break up in season 6, Stefan talks individually to each of them and tells them that they are perfect for each other and they need each other. Damon as a character is great, he embraced being a villain and he was so good at it. But he was never good enough to be in a relationship and his controlling, selfish behavior proved it. Even the fact that he put Elena over everyone, including the people she cared for and would die for, make him bad for a relationship. I rather have Elena stay with Damon than with Stefan, those two are a mess and they deserve each other, but there's no denying that Stelena was a healthier relationship and it was pure, passionate love.

It’s just my personal opinion but I didn’t see chemistry between Stefan and Elena, I wanted Stefan to be with Lexi instead. They had better connection and understanding of each other. Plus Lexi was such a cool character and it’s a shame they killed her so quickly. Delena sure was toxic at times, just like Klaroline, but I loved the sparks between them. Bottom line, there is no “better” or “worse”, it’s a matter of personal preference. And guys remember, it’s a fictional show about vampires/monsters. The fact that someone likes couples like Delena or Klaroline doesn’t mean they want toxic situations in their relationships. This show is just for fun, no need to argue with each other over stuff like that.
