I love this! I'm going to make these for my Fiancee. Your bannoffee cupcakes where the first thing I ever baked him 2 weeks after our first date and now we are getting married next year so I love to use your recipes, feels a little tradition now 🤍 x
Making these now! Oreos are my fiance's favorite cookie, so I'm making these for his birthday ❤ I did end up using some black cocoa because I didnt have enough regular 😅
Oooh, watched this as we were having lunch and since Mr. Man had the last of the cinnamon rolls this morning, he promptly asked if I had everything I needed to make these. Guess what I'll be doing after lunch?😄😋
Thanks Jemma - the recipe I didnt know I needed....my sons (and husband...cant forget him 😁!) are going to love these...they'll be scoffed down in no time 🤗💯👍
@@CupcakeJemma 🤣...it's the plaintive note in his voice when he comes home from work and asks me if I've baked today (which is 4/5 times weekly). These Oreos will be a lovely surprise...🥳

Hi Jemma, thanks for sharing your recipes. I´m a huge fan and I really enjoy making your recipes. I always learn something new with them and I love being able to create new and delicious things thanks to you, my husband is the most grateful because he tries everything I do haha. Theses cookies look fabulous and chocolatey!!! Can’t wait to make and share. Omg! The studio! Studio! Studio! You, Sally and Dane started my baking journey that I truly love! With watching all the infectious laughter! Cheers🍫🧁🥰❤️Patti
Jemma ~ love this! We are huge fans over here in the US! We’ve made so many of your treats and they have all been winners. If I ever make it to the UK, you’re one of our fist stops. Love you, Sally and Dane!
Well done Jemma, another terrific video, one thing you might like to adopt is to use some 3mm thick wooden batons on both sides of dough when rolling it to get the thickness exact. Good job, stay safe.
definitely just use regular coco powder people! For half I used the black coco stuff and with the amount we need to use in total - its pretty bitter lol! still good
These look great! I LOVE vanilla…I’d probably add 2-3 full teaspoons to the filling. The only way to afford vanilla the way I like it in baking is to make it myself. Lots of videos out there.
Amazing recipe as always!! I’m coming to London at the weekend and hoping to pop by crumbs for only my second time, I can’t wait! Also I love the bowls you had the ingredients in, where are they from/what are they please? X
Love this recipe! But one of the best things about oreos IMO is that they are vegan (and thus friendly to those of us with dairy intolerance). I would love to see a vegan homemade version too!
That's interesting because when I was in college (in the 90s) I remember reading "lard" in the ingredients for OREOs. I assumed they still had it, but I see now that they replaced it years ago with only vegetable oils.
I've never been a fan of the normal oreo's. Always found the biscuit dry so avoided cookies and cream trend. Need to make these to see if I enjoy these.
They look absolutely delicious!! Though I reckon they aren't as vegan as the original, that with the butter and everything. Which probably makes these tastier, I suppose! xD
Can you use a vanilla bean pod and just scrape some of the seeds to add into the buttercream? Because a lot of the vanilla I find here in the USA isn’t the greatest quality. I really found that since using the pod over the extract my bakes taste better. But I’ve never made butter cream with a bean pod and I’m just not sure. I really want to make these because Oreos are my nephews favorite cookies next to edible cookie chocolate chip dough. He is going for his 2nd year at college in a few weeks and I’d like to send them away with a care package of his favourites.
@@poliroth2367 Thank you very much I will try with a quarter of a pod and give a taste to see what it does. I was just concerned about the texture of the buttercream I guess I’m going to have to add just a tad bit more milk than I normally do in order to make up for the loss of the extract. And I love seeing the Italian words written it gives me a chance to practice translating it back to English and reading it aloud gives me the practice I need to remember how my grandfather used to speak. He was a WW refugee & refused to allow anyone in the family to speak Italian but he could not speak English very well. We all learned to understand but not speak the language, now I am trying to make up for that by learning to speak and understand Italian. I’m not sure how I will learn how to write Italian though because there are not very many Italians in the area where I live anymore.
@@chelsbells408 grazie a te per questa testimonianza! È sempre bello ascoltare storie come questa, ed è un peccato che alcune lingue vadano perse in alcune famiglie a causa di decisioni così nette. I think they are the same as lotus biscuits. Different marketing but same product across different countries e.g. galaxy chocolate is called dove in China for instance
Real Oreos have a lot of extra stuff to keep them shelf-stable 😅 I wouldn't even call it buttercream. But, to make this version firmer you can put them in the fridge like she said and it will harden and stay firm as long as it is cold. 👍
All salt is actually sea salt. Tablesalt comes from ancient salt deposits from seabed that is found underground. The body doesnt see any difference between tablesalt and seas salt , it has the same amount of sodium. Most often sea salt has bigger grains and that why we think it is saltier. Sea salt also contains microplastics.
I've always used what you guys call "table" salt and I'm sure many others do too, it doesn't make a difference like you guys are trying to make it seem. It's the right amount of salt, now on the other hand I've used sea salt before and some of my recipes came out a bit too salty!!
Crisco Shortening in the US has soybean oil and palm oil in it. Palm oil is terrible for you and terrible for the environment. I believe you all over the pond regulate some of these products better than the US does. Still, I prefer organic butter to shortening.
