Oh!! I need to check my homes phone jacks!!! I love your videos Samir!!! 👏🏻
There are lots of small 9, 12, 15u racks you can get. And even though many things aren't rack mountable, you can always just get a rack mountable shelf. Then any items that aren't rack mountable can just sit on the shelf on top of or next to each other. Or, if you only have a couple things, the items that are rack mountable can act as a shelf for the other things. ;)
Yup. I’m planning on a some sort of combination of a small rack as well as some DIY shelving.
I have several nas that have 10g as well as my Mac Studio having 10g as well. Its so fast transferring large files and makes it so nice so I understand using the 10g stuff.
Thanks for the demo and info, have a great day
Thanks for checking out the video!
You've got a pretty good structure in your videos, i can definitely see your channel growing.
Thank you so much for the encouragement!
Thanks for providing the tour of your home network. I personally got rid of my ISP modem. I'm connecting my fiber internet connection straight into the UDM Pro.
I have to look into it. I am not sure if my ISP allows that. I know in Canada TELUS allows it but not sure about my ISP
Looks great thanks for sharing
Thank you for your videos. You explain things very clearly...thanks
Thank you for checking out the video!
Hey Samir good to see you again and thanks for sharing your home network setup. All looks great but think how much neater will look in a nice closed rack, maybe an idea for a future project?
Definitely planning something in the near future to tidy things up! Thanks again for checking out the channel!
A video on your Wifi settings, eg Vlans, Firewall rules, and a video on your NVR/ home security tips would be great!
I’ll work on a future video talking about these things. Thanks for checking out the video.
Love your videos 😎✌️
Thanks for checking out the videos!
The sfp has the encryption in it
I really enjoyed this video. You're inspiring me to get a UDR and begin to tinker to get more from my network. My only issue is I want to look more into unfi protect. Will you ever think about using the unifi camera and doorbell options?
Good question. I’m actually looking into potentially getting a few UniFi protect cameras but I will likely upgrade to an UDM SE before that to ensure I have a larger hard drive accommodate recordings. Currently I’m using a LOREX system that is very easy to use and was a great deal at Costco so it’s not really an easy decision to switch at the moment. But I’m definitely considering it.
Security camera setup video would be great great channel just subscribed
Definitely will make a video about my security camera setup.
Good video , you are a likable guy.
Make that Lorex video, I been eyeballing those cameras at Costco
Thanks. Will definitely work on a LOREX video!
Great info!! a little question.. If I need to create a new network.. Thinking about this.. Dream Machine Special Edition for the controller + Access Point U6 Pro ( or maybe ap u6 mesh) to provide wifi for my office + Access Point AC In-Wall / Single Unit to the rooms (where I already have wired cables).. + Access Point AC Mesh / Single Unit to mesh (wireless to the garden). Any recomendation?.. or maybe just go with the dream router and the in wall with the repeater?
Unplugg the gpon module from your ISP router and plug it in to the udm pro wan 2, it will work and grab a public ip, i have the fiber cable plugged in strait to the udm pro or Udm se i have the fiber cable plugged in via gpon fibre module to the udm pro since day 1 when i got it 2 years ago that way you dont have to deal with isp equipment at all
What ISP do you have? As far as I know AT&T in the US doesn’t allow that.
@@TechTalkwithSamir I have Telus here in Canada and they said It is not allowed as well but it worked when i tried it, i saw you have the similar setup setup like me from the isp, at the back of the isp modem there is a removable gpon fibre module, remove it and plugg it in to your udm se wan 2 port sfp+ port and change the wan setting to the opposite primary wan2 and failover wan1 and it should grab a public ip address try it and let me know
Yes TELUS allows it. My friends in Canada have done it with TELUS. ATT in the US however is not that simple :(
Yes any cctv video is great
Sounds good. I’ll work on a video about the surveillance system I use.
@@TechTalkwithSamir hdmi thank god I’ve found a solution!
I’m just setting up my riolink cctv
I’m curious about your camera setup as well. I recently got the UDM pro, 24PoE switch and access point, but only got one unifi camera to figure out the camera stuff. Your opinion would be cool.
Great! Thanks I’ll definitely work on putting a video together about my security camera system.
Have you tried pfsense at all? I'm trying to decide between ubiquity and pfsense with my existing wifi 6 router.
Also would love a video about your security cameras
Based on the feedback, I’ll definitely work on a video about my security camera system!
I personally have not tried pfsense but have heard great things about it. My interest in home networking started with UniFi and I’ve always just stuck with it!
Only one correction wifi 6e can hit 1.5gbps wifi 5 can't come close to that
Was thinking man what a cabling nightmare... I would live to clean that all up for him. But didn't want to be that guy. Get yourself a small rack and you can add rack shelves to put your no rack mount equipment on. Also do yourself a favor and get a keystone patch panel much easier to move things around if you make any changes!
Yup. Definitely planning out a clean up! Thanks for your suggestion.
For sure keep up the great videos
Hi Samir, I am curious about your cameras and NVR setup!
Thanks for letting me know. Now that I know there’s atleast one person interested, I’ll definitely work on an upcoming video about it!
I am interested as well. Great video!!
@@TechTalkwithSamir Me as well!!!
Nice video Samir my question will be as you’re network geek would recommend to have small UniFi tool less rack of 6u that will help also provide me a link for tp link and network temp monitor
I personally would get a non UniFi rack for the most compatibility. UniFi gear will mount on a standard rack but non UniFi gear won’t mount on a UniFi tool less rack without tinkering around so for racks I would get a standard rack that has universal compatibility. I am personally planning on getting a standard rack down the road when I do my clean up.
@@TechTalkwithSamir yep check startech rack
Nice work, but you need a 48 port And a dream machine, special edition
Haha. I did end up getting a UDM-SE. but a 48 port will definitely be an overkill (even though the rest is already an overkill lol)
Get a rack make the cable nicer also
Definitely part of the cleanup plan im working on. Thanks for checking out the video.
check out Ubiquiti dream wall, it might just solve the tidy closet problem ;)
I’ve seen it. Definitely tempting. But also very expensive lol
How's the US 24 poe holding up in current times I have an option to get one at a nice price since I needed a switch *on a budget. Any issues?
Mine is actually the non POE version. It still works great! No issues with it at all!
@@TechTalkwithSamir thanks for the info man!! Love your channel!!
Thanks for the support! Really appreciate it.
Dude I'm pretty sure u don't need to use ur ISP router that thing has an sfp just plug that into ur UDM
Not with my ISP. In Canada TELUS allows that. AT&T in the US unfortunately doesn’t work that way :(
And ubiquity cameras
Me in Brazil having fiber internet since 2013 😎😎😎
(Im my city)
America still has a long way to go ☺️
Which part of India were you originally from?
I was born in Bangladesh. Never been to India. I would love to visit some day.
