Father pleads for end to gun violence after 15-year-old son shot in the face in Auburn

- A rash of gun violence in King County has an Auburn family asking what it will take to end the cycle that has now touched their family. Their 15-year-old son was shot three times Saturday morning in their Auburn neighborhood.
The 15-year-old has been in the ICU at HMC ever since. On Monday, he was listed in serious condition.
The teen was shot in the face, a bullet pierced the bridge of his nose, just missing his eye, ruptured his sinus cavity, and nicked his carotid artery, according to his family. His father, Derek, who asked not to share his last name publicly, said his son was also shot in the back and the buttock and that bullet pierced through his thigh.

When people hear the words “gun violence” that immediately associate the gun to be the cause as if the guns themselves are killing people. In this case, how about the lack of parenting and in the larger picture, our state and federal policies they don’t hold anyone accountable for CRIMINAL VIOLENCE.
What is a 15 yr old doing out at 2am...
Would you rather violence or a simple basketball late on a Saturday night?
Take American citizen's ability to defend themselves away because YOU let your 15 year old run around at 2:00am? The GALL _!_ Why not _YOU_ try to be a father to your kid instead of telling others how to live safely?
We need better judges That holds up the Court of law.. 2 murders only got 8 years will be out in 4.
And parents need to pay attention to their children. Why is a kid out at 2 AM? Playing basketball or out stealing cars. Parents need to be responsible for their children.

That is not the point as a kid we stayed out late on weekends, but we could walk down the street and not worry about getting assaulted, shot or mugged.

So, the parents were okay with their 15y.o. teen child running at 2:30am??? With no clue where he, and his teen friends, were at the time??? Give me a break. Take responsibility for your kids. You already know how dangerous this world is... wake the hell up. I'm so glad he's alive, and will recover. But c'mon. 🤔

Im so sorry this happened. but kids leaving home at 230am to go play bball is not normal either. i was arrested for leaving home at 2am and the police called my mom to pick me up. my friends and i had a 10pm curfew at age 15. at age 17 most of us had midnight curfews on weekends. no one i went to school with could just leave home with parents approval at 230am. and no one i went to school with was shot. the only murdered classmate i have is a victim in her 20s who was rape and murdered.
however we have a huge problems with crime and guns in the wrong hands in this state.
The father and for that matter all White, Asian parents need to sit down with their children and have the "Talk" about being around a certain demographic, Scott Adams warning is evident everyday.
