I’m old enough to remember all the way back to 2021 when the vaccine mandates were issued. WSF system lost many, over 100, trained & experienced workers.
Build more ferries, take inspiration from japan, put love into this mode of transportation and get people interested in wanting to be trained for such jobs. Over working employees on equipment that is dated and not paying them enough to have a life outside of working the boats is utter non-sense. It is crazy, but they’re probably getting time-and-a-half after 8 hours, time and a half all day Saturday and double time all day Sunday. Making that kind of money is very liberating and a week’s vacation 26 time a year is nice. Bust your ass but you’re making bank.😊
Time and a half and double time isn't enough money? How does paying people more give them more time in the day or make them more productive? It doesn't. You know, we're not all that stupid.
They make less then 30 bucks and hour lol. Why would you want a job that pays that little with all the stress?' McDonald's pays 10 bucks an hour less with no stress 😂

The ferry system will fold completely within a decade. There isn’t any reason to work for WSF when you can take that training over to the MMP union hall and take 10x more. Either the WSF go union or they will fail.
Nothing would be better for the olympic peninsula than the removal of the ferries. We don't need or want tourism--that's a government grift.
