Now starting a new series where I will react to celeb skincare/current events in the skincare world. I do not like calling people out but here I feel that it is important to elaborate on why dermatologists got upset last week when this video was released.
In the video, I will have comments on Dry Brushing, Exfoliators, Organic ingredients, Gold sculpting bars, and of course sunscreen (a crash course on SPF)!
    Gold sculpting bar amzn.to/3uO3wjF
    Weleda Skin Food amzn.to/3a4CVHn

Gwyneth was a teen in the 1980s - they used to oil that was SPF2

      Gwyneth espc did that
      a lot 🙏🇬🇧
(& there were no sunscreens with SPF 50/6P that you could wear on yr face all the time - & even in the early 2010s you were struggling for those.) She drives me crazy with her poor advice.
Sunscreen: I grew up in California before we had sun block lotions, we had 'sun tan' lotions. Anything that gave us darker skin. Finally at about age 30 we had sunscreens and I was living in Portland, with less bright sun and wetter climate. I used it every day, winter and summer. But even with being careful and no longer sun bathing I got melanoma on the back of my upper arm. I credit my eagle-eyed dermatologist for finding it...with a magnifying glass. She saved my life. The mole never looked like the examples on the internet. I now see her every 4 months for skin checks. BTW, she also diagnosed a hair follicle disease and got me to a specialist and one year later I'm in remission from that. I see that specialist every 5 months. I am so thankful for having two great dermatologists. And I now tell my women friends that their thinning hair might be more than just a normal aging process. Thanks for your great videos and recommendations.

I love and start following you Dr. Sugai because you are telling the truth. Also, you recommend products that is very affordable and same results with those expensive ones. I am 59 years old woman with a heritage of Filipino, Chinese, Spanish, American and back in the days I only used name brands skin care which some of them give me a heavy reactions that I need a doctor specialist about facial care. My parents are telling me that it’s a waste of money buying these expensive stuffs where I can get affordable and cheap in the drugstores, just look it doesn’t have too much chemicals. Both of my parents are on their 80’s but people thinks they are my older brother and sister as they are both youthful looking, they never used any of these so called skin care products, they used a lot of vegetables, fruits, honey and make them into oils, lotions that they used daily. Whatever they have in their garden that grows, they make them to teas, oils and lotions from tropical trees also. I’m just lazy doing it so I start buying the ones you recommended and it really works!!! I look young than my age but more younger now that even my siblings are asking what I have been using, lol 😂. I told them and everyone that to watch and subscribe in your channel, they will learn so much from you and you are not biased nor been paid by these companies. So far, some members of our families and relatives start buying and using them. They already results in just a week, their skin is much better and so soft to the touch….skin pigmentations, black and white spots start to diminish and now they are hooked. They are watching you now, what products you will recommend for us Asian mature skin. I was shocked at how little she used too. My first thought was "why bother"...Thank you for the great info about what is considered "clean ing". Theres so much hype about clean verses none clean, its easy for people to tag "clean" on anything, and everyone will jump on board. I heard a Dr. say we should get at least an hour a day of sun WITHOUT sunscreen for absorption of Vitamin D...what are your thoughts on this?

As a retired chiropractor your demeanor is wonderful your patients must love you. I had a patient come into office she had a strong odd smell she said it was something she ate. When i palpated her back it was lumpy. I looked and there were about 6 holes where the skin was melted away. Referred to a dermatologist, she passed away about 2 months later, malignant melanoma.

Hey I'm not an expert but there was a recent study that shows that even physical sunscreens work similar to chemical sunscreens in the sense that they also absorb the sunrays... only 5% of it actually gets deflected....while chemical suncreens fully absorb the rays . I could be wrong so dont take this to be facts but I would say if it doesn't irritate your skin then don't worry about it!

Really powerful comments about sunscreen. As an Australian with very fair skin, I'm super aware of the sun and its potential damage, though when I was young it wasn't a societal concern as it is today. There needs to be more actual plain talk about the sun and its potential to kill you. Skin cancer can kill you. That's a fact and I wish more people would think of that. Love your comments so much!

The sun bounces of snow so it's a double whammy. Especially here in California where people ski in short sleeves, shorts, and even sports bras. I'm going for protection now, no more cuteness 😅

I've seen derms apply on their nose including Dr. Sugai. A couple of derms I've seen apply retinol, say you can use something like vaseline or cerave healing ointment in areas you don't want the retinol to creep into or possibly irritate. Dr Dray applies it to her eyelids. Dr Alexis Stephens applies it around the corner of her eyes, the corners of her nose, the corners of her lips and on her lips (she uses it on her nose). Dr Stephens is also pretty adamant about using no more than a pea-size amount of the retinoid (she demoed this by placing a pea on her finger and disbursing the retinol). She then places little dots of it all around her face.

Averagely during the day the weather is in between 34°- 36°.
If using the highest SPF I can finds here selling, is a 120 & 130 SPF ++++, is it bad for skin as it's too high ?

And I have been wearing it since I was 15 and first started modeling internationally. I’m caucasian and very fair skinned and if I got Tanlines that meant less income so I learned very young age to wear my sunscreen every day. So before I knew any better I was wearing the sunscreen to make more money, it’s only several years after that I changed to wearing sunscreen for actuall protection from the sun and skin cancer. I’m 39 now and my skin presents as a 20 year olds. Not one dark spot very minimal fine lines and ZERO sun damage. When professionals look at my skin under magnification they cannot believe it and sit back and then come look again!! They also comment frequently my skin is among some of the best skin they have ever looked at in their careers. These are top professionals in dermatology making these comments!! At 36 years of age I went to a few dermatologists to start using Trenton, that’s when I learned how great my skin condition was actually in from 3 dermatologists in 3 different offices. I’m sharing this because sunscreen is real and sun damage is very real and skin cancer kills people. Not to mention skin care treatments and skin products are super expensive to try and fix problems. Sunscreen is cheap and easy I barely used many pricey products over the years just samples and some key creams and stuff. But Wearing sunscreen is so easy it just takes time to find one that works for your skin and you stick with it. I’ve been wearing the same brand for several years and share it with everyone. Elta MD is just amazing also under makeup it works flawlessly. Wear sunscreen even if your staying indoors because the sun will reflect off so many things and damage your face. I save so much money now compared to friends who are desperately trying to fix their skin damage from so much sun and lack of sun protection. Please just listen to the professionals and wear sunscreen daily 365 days a year. You need it. Doesn’t matter your Ethnicity.
