this is the best adapter ever!, i have the original XB gen 1, and Jony taught me it could even be used wirelessly with the brook wireless board in xinput mode! which makes it infinitely better than any other wireless solution on the market for fight sticks.
What a long way the FGC has come. Still remember back when the AE Main stream for WNF was run on PC, swapping controllers was always a mess. This is a def must buy. So happy to see the FGC finally making the move to PC.
thanks a bunch Jony! There's so much to learn about how to optimize PCs and make them the standard for tournaments but I'm pretty sure we're closer than never for it being the new normal.
Besides all the extra improvements to gen 2, I actually was able to connect to my XSX controller via BT on the first gen release even though I believe that wireless wasn't an option. I just placed an order for gen 2 to use on my personal original release xbox, fully recapped and clean up, can't wait.
Does it work with the Brook fighting board ps4+ audio on Xbox series? I have checked the compatibility list on Brook website and Brook FB for PS4 weren't listed.
I am having a hell of a time getting any of my sticks to work with this on the og xbox, have tried my horis, qanbas and my 8bitdo and all the same.. Its like the inputs only work in the menus and not in matches. Anyone else have this issue?
I got the xb2 for my xbox 360. I didn't know that I could use it on my pc, too. It is not stated in the manual or on the packaging. I'm using a 8bitdo conroller with switch only features like motion control, maybe I can get the motion control get to work on pc with this thing.
So im still kind of confused. Does it allow you to use PS sticks on xbox? That's my use case here. I currently have a ps MC TE2 but its older and I Need a new stick and will be playing on xbox mostly but dont want to be limited to xbox sticks only
Hello great video, I would like to know if I can play with an arcade controller with a ps4 legacy card with this adapter on the xbox series s? I've seen some videos of the PS4 NATIVE CARD running smoothly so my question is only in relation to the legacy.
How does the Wingman handle audio e.g. plugging headsets into front 3.5mm audio port on modern controllers? I would think this a tall order with the amount of protocols out there which wouldnt be the Wingmans fault....
I admire the refresh of the Brook Wingman line of accessories...I think it's needed. However after buying the Wingman PS, I would have hoped that Brook would venture into the more smaller/sturdier Wingman adapters. I have the XB and XE, and I'm always worried that one day the adapter will break my USB port, after trying to connect the USB cord to the adapter while it's plugged into a console. Take my advice: the community would like a shorter (but wider/sturdier) design in the future for your accessories, like the Wingman PS!
@@jonyfraze Like…a daisy-chained USB cord for the tournament? I guess it was needed, understood. What does that have to do with my comment about a sturdier/less long and slim and a lot shorter and a bit wider design for their Wingman line, though? 🤔
@@GooseDaPlaymaker we were also concerned about the sturdiness of the wingman with constant plug/replugs during the event so this was the solution that reduced wear and tear on both the laptop and wingman port. The cables were relatively cheap too, $4 a pop. Theoretically if you add one to each side you can isolate the wingman, but i hear you about a sturdier design.
@@Latin00032 And I use a long (10 foot) cord with my XB and XE. But if you do the ‘human’ thing of trying to disconnect/connect your cord while the Wingman is connected to your PC/Console, you greatly risk USB damage to your PC/console. If they could make future revisions where they are the size of a small Bluetooth dongle…that would be absolutely perfect. On a side note: why is the Wingman XE pink? Doesn’t PlayStation represent blue, Xbox green, and Nintendo red? The other Wingmen are the correct color…why pink? 🥴
Haven't had much joy with the first Wingman XB; random disconnects, and doesn't seem to pair a Qanba Q4raf or Mad Catz TES+ properly to an Xbox Series X.
Has anyone successfully overclocked the Wingman XB2 to 1000hz and able to get their pads/fight sticks working with it? Was Arturo or Jony successful? I followed Arturo's video and a few others to install Filter = Yes, Rate = 1000, and bInterval = 1. But upon restart/unplug/replug, the XB2 doesn't connect as "XINPUT compatible HID device" (child name is blank) anymore, and controllers plugged into the brook don't work (the brook light is solid blue, however). On Windows 10 19045.2251 (yes, I tried the additional hidusbfN.zip drivers in Test Mode). Reverting the overclock is easy and the XB2 still works on default settings btw.
Or you could run your PC tournament on Linux which has better controller support than Windows and software like MoltenGamepad that can enable hot swapping and make all controllers work according to physical button positions rather than what's printed on them. E.g. when I plug in an XBox or a PS4 or a Switch controller the upmost of the 4 right hand buttons is always sending the Y button code of an XBox controller. Linux also doesn't have annoying anti features like insisting on an update in the middle of grand finals.
How much control do you have over your gpu on Linux? We have so many optimizations on the windows side for reducing input delay that we used for DTN. Certain game we edit .ini files to allow the games to run at max refresh, etc. Also doesn’t the wrapper add input delay? Curious what can be done on Linux.
@@jonyfraze I am not an expert on these things but fighting games are usually capped at 60 FPS, aren't they? You can definitely get a stable 60FPS. Input delay is definitely not something to worry about. But if you're seriously interested in this topic you should get a SteamDeck and use that for timing measurements. If I was a TO I would try to run the tournament either on SteamDecks or on PCs with similar hardware and software to have a reference that's close to what Valve is working with.
Put more simply: If I was a TO wanting to run a tournament on PCs my starting point would be Valve's recommendations for developers targeting the Steam Deck, because that would give me a reference that is well supported, with the ability to file bug reports in Valve's issue tracker.
@@frankbauerful most games are capped at 60fps, but we have developed ways keeping your screen refresh to stay at high rates (144hz+) which improves reaction time and input delay. I've used steam decks to test and while amazing for portable and casual play, unfortunately they aren't suitable yet for max performance tournament play at the moment due to the emulation wrapper and lower specs adding to the input delay. It also has some issue understanding 3rd party PCB controller mappings such as Brook's products. Also not all tournament games run smoothly. Hopefully this will change in the future as the steam deck shows alot of promise.
@@jonyfraze I think your problems with the input system are all because of Steam Input. Personally I hate Steam Input, I disable it and I do all of my mapping with MoltenGamepad. I think if you install Windows on a Steam Deck you will not get higher framerates.
As much as I want this to be the solution, we can’t reach the flexibility and optimization levels of discreet gpu on the windows side. Hopefully one day though, Deck looks promising.

I have a PS4 TE2+ SFV fightstick that i want to use on my XBSX, will this help and not add much input delay?
Yes, about 1ms
Loved the Arturo clip!
he's the real GOAT
Love the content from youtube to insta custom fight stick! Just wondering does the xb2 has latency when using on a xbox series x/s?
Undetectable, so much show that it was used in last year‘s Capcom cup finals

Yes

Snackbox Micro Evo Edition. I designed the art for it last year.

Depending on the console it maps to different functions.

It will work for ps3 controllers only. The point of the XB is that it supports both Xbox and PS controllers on pc

Xinput in general cannot be changed passed 250hz on pc. You can however overclock the ps5 / ps4 input

It’s capped at 250 since the wingman connects as xinput
