I am definitely adding this to my collection as I prefer custom controllers that use different PCBs. Also at that price I don't need to buy individual UP5 daughter boards for each UFB I have (already own 2). I am also glad it works with the pico board as my travel size mixbox uses a pico board and I normally bring the ps4 wingman to use it on the PS4 and now I can bring the fgc one. Also I love that they call it the wingman fgc and embrace that branding for the community.
Thanks for sharing your results, starting at 2:07! This is the exact fightstick model (Madcatz SF4 TE) I own for PS3.
I hated using it on PS4, because you had to also have your PS4 controller on at the same time with the fightstick plugged in.
Plus, my PS4 controller would turn off automatically after 10 mins as a power saving function.
Awesome.. still have 2 fightsticks hanging around as "decor" from PS3 days.. was thinking of upgrading the motherboard at first, but this seems to be the better option and possible success rate in having those working, I'll be looking into scooping this up in the near future.
Much easier too than opening it up and all that.

I already have two of my stickless controllers that work flawlessly on my PS5, the new 2023 model of the Snack Box Micro, and the Hori Real Arcade Pro N, but I’m still going to cop this because Brook makes quality products and I would like to have this just to test out my controllers on my PS5.
just had my Wingman arrive and it worked perfectly on my old fightstick with the original PS3 Brook PCB.
Now let's see if Sony is going to continue their cat'n'mouse game of issuing Playstation updates that block Brook products and require firmware updates by Brook like they did on PS4.
It’s just business. Sony obviously has an intrest in people buying Playstation controllers and Playstation licensed products.
So businesses like Brook has to play catch up and there’s no changing that situation.

It's gonna be interesting since they now own EVO and they explicitly allow Brook Adapters to be used in the tournament rules (as in they refer to them by name).

The PS4 hori commander is so much better than the PS5 version its ridiculous. The pad is better and the top side buttons (R1 R2 L1 L2) aren't so huge that they take up the entire topside of the controller. Im always getting wrong inputs because I accidentally hit them. I'm gonna have to get this so I can go back to using the ps4 version. Thanks for the review!!
Bro I'm mad happy that brook listen to us son this video confirmed I kept sending emails to them like they need to do a converter for people that don't have the money to buy new arcades next to play on PS5 It's not fair that everybody has to just jump right over and buy a new stick I mean there's options but they're not cheap so when I seen this that's definitely confirms that they were listening to me and to others thanks a lot for this vid JF

I just seen a Twitter Post from Brook with the HitBox Crossup working on multiple PS5 games.
not too sure why mine wasn’t working, maybe it has to do with the different modes you can set the crossup to. It’s still very early and I’m sure they are fine tuning the firmware

Brooke converters are crazy man, i got one with a PS3 TE fightstick and i've been having more fun dicking around with the converter than actually using the stick LOL,
Logitech Chillstream? Works. Wierd bootleg PS2 to PS3 converter with a stinky bootleg PS2 cont? no problem. Wii Classic controller > Wii mote > 8Bitdo adapter > Wingman? somehow still works like a charm.

Of course right after I just dropped $135 on the snack box ps5 pcb because I wasn't sure if brooks would have these ready in time for Evo Vegas it comes out. I swear man every new console generation forces us to spend $300-$500 on new controllers because of one console maker wanting you to use their stuff. I'm still looking forward to the day all tournaments are run on PC to avoid this archaic system of console making with using only their special peripherals.

@@drftr6073 True but those snack box PS5 PCBs are already sold out, so it was buy it now or maybe be one of those people asking to use someone's PS5 pad because Brook hadn't announced a date yet and it's unknown when another batch of PCBs are coming in. Junkfood even made an announcement if you want to be able to play SF6 at Evo you'll want to get this batch as they weren't sure there would be another batch in time for Evo. When stuff is shipped over seas it can be 2-4 months before another shipment comes in so I bought it, although I might have waited if Brook had said something earlier. That said it will probably be 2 months before these wingmans are even available and that's if there are no snags in production/shipping (they are hoping for May/June). Luckily supply chains aren't as jacked up but I can't tell you how many times 2 month deliveries became 4-6 months on over sea supplies in the last 3 years.

Still a good purchase, converters are more of a utlitily - especially if you have a bunch of old controllers than you dont want to spent money on upgrading. If the micro is your main controller, you made a wise choice to update it. All my main sticks have Brook's UFB + UP5 PS5 Mod so i dont have to worry about compatibility when I head out to events.
Nice! Not sure if the raspberry pico results cover this question, but should this be compatible with PCBs running GP2040? Like the Flatbox rev 4 for example? Excited to grab my own when this comes in!
Yeah the pico runs off that firmware if I’m not mistaken.

2:41 I wasn't able to get the Brook Retro Board to work with the Wingman FGC.
I'm going to retry the Retro Board with the Wingman FGC on the PlayStation 5. I just tested it on the PlayStation 4 with the retro board and got it to work, so it makes no sense for it to not also work on the PlayStation 5.

my old brookes ps3 to ps4 needed constant patches, otherwise your controller would be "timed out" disconnected after 10 mins. If this brookes is going to need updates i might pass.

Wingman is compatible with the panel 2 player behind you ? I have a Xinmotek controller bus stick, should be great if it works with them

try hitting share, brook usually maps TP to share for their converters

I have a slight issue. I'm using an Xbox one controller to play mk1 and it was fine. But suddenly today the left start button now opens up screenshot instead of mimicking the touchpad like on the ps5. In the game it's used to reset training mode. Any advice on a fix for this as it was fine before today and can't seem to find a fix. Thank you.
Try reflashing the firmware. There’s also a way to remap the buttons. Check the Brook website for details.
@@jonyfraze I got into contact with them and it seems I hit the Xbox button + Y which turns off the touchpad emulation on the view button.
Xbox button + A fixed it. So now it's been working fine with both my Xbox one and series x controller 🤙

Hello good evening, I have a hori alpha xbox controller, I'm using this adapter, but the touch button is missing, because the xbox arcade doesn't have it.

Some reason my Blue Xbox Series X/S is not working at all with the adapter. Just blue blinking on the converter. Any clue why?
The Wingman FGC is wired only. So make sure it’s connected to via the cable. Try updating the firmware?
Firmware updated but still having issues with it connecting. Possibly Microsoft/brooks removed the support? @@jonyfraze

the dual shock 4 does work wireless
Not when connected to the wingman fgc. There no bluetooth connectivity in the Wingman FGC and cant be paired to it.

Use the command for “home”. From my memory I believe the start button becomes the shift key.
Will I be able to use the Wingman FGC on a PS4 too? I got a gp2040 based hitbox and I can't use that on a PS4, so it will be cool if this is a single solution for PS5/PS4

So what exactly is the difference between this and the XE 2? I've tested it on both the PS5 and PS4 with numerous different controllers and had pretty much no issues. What advantage does this have? Is it just more fightstick/hitbox compatibility or something?
You can’t play PS5 games with the XE2, only PS4 titles running on the PS5.

For the brook wingman series. There are different firmware modes you can use which change the colors to indicate the differences. Really doesn’t matter though.

No but since there’s no “home” button you have to press the combo command
