Fashion designer and social media influencer Archana Makwana faced severe backlash after performing ‘sirsasana’ at the Golden Temple on International Yoga Day, June 21. Her viral social media posts led to criticism, abuses, and death threats, prompting her to apologize, stating she never intended to hurt religious sentiments. Despite her apology and removal of the photos, the Punjab Police registered a case against her under Section 295-A of the IPC following a complaint by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC). Makwana explained that her intention was to promote unity and fitness. The influencer in a recent video has come out and said she is ready to fight back against those harassing her and has demanded that the FIR against her be withdrawn.
