    Here are my initial thoughts on the nominations. Charles Melton missing in Best Supporting Actor was not a surprise to me because I had feeling that it was a good chance of that happening. Sterling K Brown being in the Best Supporting Actor category at SAG was a delightful surprise. As far as Leo not being nominated for Best Actor, I have mixed feelings about this. The reason why I had mixed feelings about this was due to the fact that I did not rule out the possibility of them deciding to go with either Colman Domingo or Barry Keoghan over Leo. Was it a bad call, yes. Was I surprised about this decision, not really. The biggest shocker besides Sterling K Brown getting in for Best Supporting Actor was Poor Things not being nominated for SAG Ensemble. I wasn’t too shocked to see Holdovers to miss SAG Ensemble

    Melton, Lee and Huller missing were expected as theyre not big names and the only thing keeping Melton alive is word of mouth and the fact that his costars are big name actresses and even Michelle Williams missed last year and she's a previous nominee from a Spielberg movie.

    These SAG nominations just cemented, to me, the Critics' Choice Awards as one of the most expected award shows to watch. Sometimes, even more than the Oscars.

    Nyad was a super basic film with great performances, but I think there are just better options than Annette Bening and Jodie Foster. Bening was great, but Sandra Huller, Greta Lee, Teyana Taylor, Cailee Spaeny, Margaret Qualley in Sanctuary, and Fantasia Barino were all superior performances in my opinion. Jodie Foster was a bit better than Annette Bening, but RACHEL MCADAMS should have at least something for Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret. I also would've loved to see Viola Davis get nominated for Air. I thought the Poor Things supporting actor duo was phenomenal, but, they would be my personal 6 and 7 picks. I would keep the "RRR" and have Glenn Howerton in BlackBerry and Charles Melton in May December. I honestly want Zac Efron to get nominated for The Iron Claw, but i doubt that'll happen.

    NYAD is a 2023 American sports drama film about swimmer Diana Nyad's 2013 attempt to swim the Straights of Florida. It is directed by Elizabeth Chai Vasarheylii an Jimmy Chin (in their feature film directorial debut) and written by Julia Cox, based on Nyad's autobiography Find a Way. It stars Annette Bening as Nyad, with Jodie Foster and Rhys Ifans in supporting roles.

  • @LAMusing
    @LAMusing 4 месяца назад +2

    For me May December was so-so. Really liked Melton's nuanced performance, but both female roles are so distasteful it's hard to appreciate the acting chops. Also it is NOT a comedy, never chuckled even once, so ads pitching it that way is a mistake. Overall it felt like a made for TV movie.
