Definitely a bittersweet feeling today, many bad picks and bad snubs, but I went 5/5 in 4 categories, 4/5 in Supp Actress, and 3/5 in Supp Actor, so my ego got boosted a bit 😅, but seriously, snubbing Greta Lee & Charles Melton is so terrible.
DiCaprio snub is also disgusting and makes no sense at all. I hope they nominate him at the Oscars, after all his movie will have many nominatinos including best picture to support his nomination over Colman Domingo. Domingo was good but nobody is talking about Rustin and also Rustin is not going to have any nominations, specially not Best Picture, so if they pick Domingo at the Oscars instead of Leo would be kind of crazy in my opinion. The only possible nomination I see for Rustin is Original Score and thats it. Also there were so many people from the press and many critics considered this to be Leo's best performance ever. It would really be kind of crazy to snub him.
@OscarBuzzMovies It wasn't that long ago when women directors were super rare (e.g., Penny Marshall, Jane Campion, Kathryn Bigelow, Martha Coolidge) especially those that had Oscar chances, but things have changed a lot recently. This year alone we have: Greta Gerwig, Justine Triet, Celine Song, Emerald Fennell, Sofia Coppola, Molly Manning Walker (How to Have Sex in BAFTA long list), Charlotte Regan (Scrapper, BAFTA long list). There was Charlotte Wells for Aftersun last year. Many of these are fairly new directors, too. An interesting and positive trend.
I think Barbie is going to suffer the same fate it suffered at Golden Globes. Gonna get nominated for a lot and not end up winning much. And Greta Lee will replace her. I have a gut feeling.
Are we sure it’s going to be Scott because he would be the only nomi for strangers? I know we had Mescal last but it was a much weaker year and at least Domingo will have his movie in song which I know isn’t the biggest crossover but at least it’s one other nom
Here are my initial thoughts on the nominations. Charles Melton missing in Best Supporting Actor was not a surprise to me because I had feeling that it was a good chance of that happening. Sterling K Brown being in the Best Supporting Actor category at SAG was a delightful surprise. As far as Leo not being nominated for Best Actor, I have mixed feelings about this. The reason why I had mixed feelings about this was due to the fact that I did not rule out the possibility of them deciding to go with either Colman Domingo or Barry Keoghan over Leo. Was it a bad call, yes. Was I surprised about this decision, not really. The biggest shocker besides Sterling K Brown getting in for Best Supporting Actor was Poor Things not being nominated for SAG Ensemble.
No need to worry about lead actress I guess. Somehow I think Sandra Huller and Greta Lee will replace Annette Bening and Margot Robbie easily. Sandra or Greta are not that famous honestly. They just got recognition this year. So it's not a surprise they didn't get in. Sag always goes for high profile and darling stuff. But yeah, Fantasia is dead. She's out.
Hullers definitely replacing Benning, but I don’t see Robbie missing. It’s time for people to stop being so in denial about her potentially getting into Lead Actress.
Barbie in stunts over Extraction 2 & Napoleon is kind of surprising, I Think there might be a kind of a battle between ruffalo and dafoe for the 4th spot for oscars if the votes gets spilt between them & melton vs sterling vs sessa for the 5th spot, Cruz over ferrera, Pike, Moore shocked me the most, i hope it does not repeat at the oscars, the 4th & 5th slot for best actress is going to be a wild one, i can't wait for this category. best actor noms for sag are perfect!! but leonardo and Efron are outside chances and lets see if bafta go crazy for keoghan. overall this was fun & surprising noms from SAG.
Very disappointed by the snubs of Charles melton, mark ruffalo, Natalie Portman and Greta Lee, for saltburn I can argue it won’t get any nominations not even the best original screenplay nomination I can truly see a surprise nomination especially when the general consensus is that the screenplay is the movie’s weak links
I feel like as of late SAGS are always the worst. They do some great picks here and there but they also love Jared Leto in House Of Gucci type of performances.
I think because of the Ken fight scene. There are even weirder stunt nominations in the past like Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and The Trial of the Chicago 7.
that greta lee didn't win, much less get nominated for best actress renders this award illegitimate. let's face it, award shows are already illegitimate in their incestuous industry nature but for an occasional blip where the right recipient is chosen.

No golden globes it didn’t get much cause of the new voting body 🙄🙄🙄🙄
No it was just globe
It's probably gonna be the star is born of this year.
Oscars love Cruz so I think she may get in now
Whose slot do you think will she occupy, assuming that Randolph, Brooks, and Blunt are the locked-in Top 3?
What did you think of the SAG Nominations?
The May December hate is crazy
Disappointed; Not very good nominations!
They were awful but predictable, Penelope and Annette? really? Also no Melton, Lee, Hüller, or Ruffalo?
I’m conflicted because I’m not crazy about these nominations, but I like how they’ve really shaken things up. It makes the Oscar’s harder to predict.
Barbie got the most noms because they also got Stunts nomination
Are we sure it’s going to be Scott because he would be the only nomi for strangers? I know we had Mescal last but it was a much weaker year and at least Domingo will have his movie in song which I know isn’t the biggest crossover but at least it’s one other nom

How do you still have Ferrera in after this? SAG would have been the ones to go for her if anyone was.

why are u still predicting Ferrera when she couldn't even get SAG? That was the easiest one for her...

Saltburn for screenplay is crazy delusional 😭
Do it, Sam. 🙏🙏🙏 #BAFTAMagic

The Nyad ladies getting in over far more deserving contenders is total bs....imo
Why is Barbie in the stunt category?
I think because of the Ken fight scene. There are even weirder stunt nominations in the past like Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and The Trial of the Chicago 7.
Choices...
Barbie better take sag ensemble it could even take supporting actor but no America ferrera Greta lee or even Charles melton
