This was a very informative video, thanks so much! I got a secondhand P51s with no RAM and no SSD or HDD. Your video was extremely helpful in identifying parts I need. I looked up the SSD and it appears to be SATA III 2242, for those also trying to get a new SSD. Yes, I'm cheap, but also want to keep this laptop due to the keyboard.

thinkpads come with a tamper switch and the option to set it in the bios via a master password usually its designed for internal I.T use in a company to stop employees messing around with there assigned hardware. It can be a real pain in the ass if your doing upgrade work or can really screw you if your buying a 2nd hand thinkpad
Oh yeah, it can bios lock you out.

Any model nvme should be fine. For the price, this is great. amzn.to/3K6bzRT There are 2 batteries. Not sure there are larger capacity options.
