Pretty much any simple sound can be made more interesting with the creative use of fx. Time to break out the Edirol Orchestral and Air Tech Xpand2. And then with that some saturation (Pre-amp, console-emu saturation, mixbus saturation, etc. [maybe multiple stages]). The other day I was listening to some Kingsway demos, and I noticed that throughout the whole demo, I could actually hear the harmonic overtones of the saturation that was on everything. And it really hit me, how the sounds were pretty simple sounds, but with the delays, verbs and saturation, everything feels so much more grander.
It kinda reminds me of mixing before mixing. You can't just slap any FX on any instrument, it's a real skill. It's time to pull out that Hypersonic VST lol
MG...on halftime. You can click on the lil headphones above the freq and hear just the effected parts...Not sure if you knew that... I over looked it for a long time
BTW with Vahalla Vintage Verb you gotta check out the modes, like Dirty Hall, Dirty Plate, Random Smooth, and Non Lin are my go tos. Also the size parameter along with decay wildly effects the sound. U can get some amazing color not even reverb out of that plugin. Like use the Non Lin mode with the decay at 3 seconds and the size and attack put to 90 and u can get a reverse verb that plays after the note if u put the predelay to around 400
This hurts so good. I made a blah and put a bunch of effects but it didn't take off. Was using the WRONG effects and yea I missed that halftime tip foreva. Thanks MG
Sweet up. I bought halftime and haven't used it once. Seeing it in action here tho is lit. The freq selector, mix knob and smooth function make it more functional for sure. Just halftiming my jams wasn't doing it for me. I'll revisit. Thanks.
Hey MG is there a way to save those chain of effects with in studio one as a group? or would you have to save a preset for each plugin and load each one individually?
