Season's greetings to you, your wife and the little one. I hope that 2023 will be a happy and healthy one for you all and that you will still find some time for your projects. Carriage locking lever for the Super 7 is high on my 'to do' list, together with a solid tool post to replace the top slide when not needed for taper turning. Looking forward to a visit from Santa.
Thank you George, that's very sweet. I have been thinking about a solid toolpost too - cutting the 60' degree angle was the first time I used the compound way back since cutting the bogie bolster pin thread! Let me know how they go - the locking lever was a lifesaver, but I realise I missed out some info in the video so will make a part 2 of the same explaining a few things.
Excellent viewing as always. All the best to you. 👏👏👍😀
Thanks for sharing and Merry Christmas to you and your family 👪
Happy holidays and merry Christmas to you too Craig, thank you for commenting :)
thank you and Merry Christmas
This was very interesting. We have never thought of locking the axis on the Centec, we will have to give it a go
Hello again! Yes, I think it is mainly because my Centec has alot of wear in the middle, the table and knee are able to rock around and move a tiny bit - locking them down makes the world of difference.
Great work dude, can't wait to see the progress next year! Have a good Christmas and New Year.
Merry Christmas!
Hello William,
Interesting video... Wishing you and the family a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year...
Take care.
Paul,,
Thanks Paul, I only now realise I left off the bit explaining WHY I was making those pins to check the axles! In my defense it was very cold indeed in the workshop!
Nice one William have a good xmas
Thanks, you too matey! Looking forward to seeing more of the dyak!
Nice work and I would go with your logic/thinking 👍
A tip if I may, lube is your friend when parting off. Lots of it :-)
Thank you, I'm slowly getting more confident with it. I do have a rear-parting toolpost that I use from time to time but it's got a god-awful boat tool holder and I can never seem to get the centre height correct..
Like your channel mate. Can you do a vid on/or explain as a reply, the carriage locking lever? My ML7 is missing one. Did you make or buy it? If I were to make it, what are the specs? That would be my first lathe project after I clean it up/paint it. Perhaps I could just get one on eBay, IDK. I just love ML7 content.
Hi mate, I absolutely will do - I'll try to get it out before the new year as it'll just be an overview.
@@williamsworkshopuk oh thanks mate that’ll be brilliant
Go for it. Drill and ream the right size. I don't see a reason why not to.
Thank you Michel - you are always good for making things uncomplicated! Let's do this...
