I haven’t seen so many regular online classes from any other school of yoga.🙏 Sir what asana can be done in place of Head and shoulder stand? As due to eyes surgeries many people can’t so these asanas? Please provide your guidance 🙏Om
Om Om Thank you very much. It is these encouraging messages which keep us going. Child's pose can be practiced instead of Headstand and instead of shoulderstand, you can simply keep the legs up and hold the thighs so that the reverse flow of blood can still take place, without interfering with the eye condition.
yes in the true tradition. I've been disturbed and unsettled for various reasons. Doing this class to day was very reorienting. It is like being there with my former teachers when i lived on the ashram and yoga centered my life,. The constant change of new teachers who learn the "true tradition" reincarnates the bearer of endlessly flowing truth and gift, the honorable Sivananda himself. While I dont disapprove of teachers like myself who added Iyengar knowledge etc; and now there are all kinds of variants, the preservation of the first roots or "true" tradition is so very valuable. The new is best if it does not sweep away the old, the former; evolution is stronger when it retains respect for its roots.
Excellent instructions and very well performed.Sir I am also practicing 12 basics postures of Sivananda yoga, how much time it will take to master Tortoise pose and Paschimottanasana.

Even though this is a 90 min session, the postures don't start until after 20 mins and last 15 mins or so is rest. So in actuality the practice is only 1 hr.
Thank you for practicing. The Sivananda practice is a combination of pranayama, surya namaskar, asana and relaxation. We do not practice continuous asanas for 90 minutes. It is combined with proper breathing and proper relaxation to get maximum benefits of the practice. Om Shanti

As far as I'm concerned there's always room for improvement in everything you do in life. I hope you don't mind me stating some constructing criticism with regards to your teaching style. How come don't you help and correct the yogini's asanas ? Yes, I can understand and notice that she's been practicing Sivananda yoga for awhile as she made a good effort throughout the entire class but a little help with the alignment plus positive motivation in your tone of voice would definitely be more encouraging no to mention some demonstration from your part, otherwise it's rather boring.. PS: I've been teaching and practicing Sivananda yoga for the past 20 years..🧘♂
Yoga instructions are OK. But suggestions to the instructor are that he should either keep sitting while giving yoga instructions or be away from picture while shooting the video. When mind is meditative stage, the instructions should be as less as possible.

In headstand I can't come down slowly
It will happen with practice and focus. Keep trying :)
