I'm from the virgin islands like this gentleman and the African consciousness was stronger there than anywhere i have been. And while i was in Tanzania, i realized that they could care less if we as black people wanted to repatriate to the motherland. They were more concerned with survival and money then anything else.
Why should we care about African consciousness when we are already African and living here? And why should we care about repatriation to where? We are already in our own country.
African’s on the continent are still in the middle of an identity crises, due to our indigenous cultures being tainted by Westernization. They have not fully woken up from the deep religious programming that was done to them. And by the way I am Ghanaian.
Yet in still, we are all from one of the 12 Tribes Of Judah. God doesn’t look at your nationality. We are the same, although we have different languages, looks, foods, tradition, and such.
I don't believe in that sort of separation bit it seems most people are under a system of hatred and not love. Not all but the ones who can't work with someone soley based on where they come from.
The basic issue or problem that some people who relocate to Africa is that when they complain about issues in some African countries, most Africans will react (because all black people are reactionary people...and it's our true human nature unlike others who call themselves humans but not look like us) because the whole world has been putting Africa down for so long while they exploit us, that it gets annoying when people come down to the motherland and tell you to your face that you basically ain't 'shi+'. It's not hatred or negativity but it's just purely a defensive mechanism which some Africans have. Yes, why the heck will the Ethiopian in South Africa not talk crap about the US debt when all you hear all day and every second on mainstream media is how broke African countries are and how "poor and hungry" Africans when that is absolutely untrue. Yes, the guy has the right to talk down on the US and I will just listen to him and move on.

It does not seem like there’s a lack of critical thinking, it seems like there’s a lack of exposure. You can't compare what people's DNA says they are verses some imaginary gay person saying they are a woman or a man... Not a good example to use Mark...
Mark, what the people in SA were telling you is pure xenophobia. The history stems from the apartheid era. The white south African made sure they did not give a whole generation of black people in South Africa good enough education to take up jobs post apartheid. Also a lot of the blacks were fighting for equal rights and did not go to school. So come free Mandela, country is free, a whole lost generation of black people were not employable with out skills to take up the jobs and also looked down low paying jobs. While cities like joburg were clean apartheid time and just after, when the blacks came from the townships without skills and using the tactics they learned of mass disobedience from pre apartheid era on the new system without working, decay started setting in. So it is just a blame game they are blaming on Africans about this. Problem with you guys you look at very superficial things on the surface even in other places like Tanzania on why certain things are the way they are without knowing the root cause. That is one of Mark's biggest thing pre judging about things that is way off the truth that I just laugh sometimes watching the complaints he make. Good that Tanzanian lady was on the sho to clear things, or we would have had the usual misleading about things that normally happens
Another problem Mark went to the least preveledge, least exposed areas Dar es salaam communities to live. And has based all his entire outlook about Tanzania on these Tanzanian as norms ever since, when that is far from the truth. Thanks for the young Tanzanian lady for setting things straight. I got treated like how a soldier reacts to hostile environment once I called a friend from immigration to explain they knew me and I was ok the soldier whole attitude changed and he made sure it was serious the mistake I made and let me go and took my photo and details. So imagine going to the White House and just walking pass a secure area with soldiers. I think u overact every-time your not treated like some kind of diplomat.
