11 2 24 I know some people, but no real close friends I don't fit because I try to be decent, speak to people correctly and treat people correctly. But it seems that's not the way of the world.

I have been ridiculed for being a lone, ending toxic relationships with associates and family. By doing this I have completed two master degrees and bought two houses. Being the woman Denzel is describing is not easy. This has to be deliberate, intentional, and purposeful. There has been plenty of times when I had to catch myself from doing things that I know aren’t things in-line with being true to myself. I am still and always a work in progress.

I'm a woman, I'm 68 years old, been alone for 12 years I love it it allows me to get to know myself, and to focus more on God, being alone comes with peace.
I'm not alone I have my family. However I don't have close friends I haven't dated in 8 yrs. I've learned a lot during this time. I've learned how dependent I was on the other person. I never want to be like that again. No man will make me cry or feel less than again. I've found that a true friend is very rare. I'm filled with my son and the 3 kids we are raising together. They are the only ones that matter.
So many people think something is wrong with the person who has no friends. Yet, they fail to realize that the true friend is the one that has stood alone. A lot of people may be smart but they lack wisdom!

As a young woman, I realized I don't need friends they need me. I feel safer when I'm alone. I can trust and believe in myself therefore I'm never let down. It's a freedom many don't understand. I like who I am, I'm loyal because at the end of the day, the mirror stares back at me.

Totally agree! I gave up social media over 8 years and now I can count real friends on one hand. I walk closer with God, and no longer have a sense of loneliness, but peace, inner strength, and happiness.
I’m 58 and for most of my life, I have been alone. This allowed me to open up my dog rescue and it’s been 7 years of me forging forward with my own journey and purpose. Saved hundreds of dogs and it has brought me peace and joy knowing I am doing what I love and was meant to do.
I am 57. I’ve never been married. Don’t have kids. I too love animals and want to rescue them. I’ve always rescued cats. I chose to be alone because when I realized that the relationships that I cherished worked as long as I was the one giving. Be it financially or emotionally. It was a painful realization, but any true relationship should be equal in give and take. If you're the only one giving, that's not a real friendship. Realizing that hurt like hell but it was an eye-opening experience. I'd rather have peace of mind and heart than be taken advantage of or having people think they found the perfect fool. Any relationship has MUTUAL respect, or it isn't a true relationship at all. In being alone, I've regained my dignity and self-respect, and for me, that's priceless.
I had 30 years of extremely severe depression and anxiety, during which I was fired or let from 35 jobs (since my brain wouldn't work and I was afraid of people). My only option was codependency: I would listen to people unendingly, never sharing my thoughts or feelings. In 2004 I was told I had 2 years to Dialysis (which was due to all the meds for depression and anxiety they'd kept increasing, but which didn't work). I had to research into Europe to learn that I needed to switch to an ALL-ORGANIC WHOLE FOOD DIET, and I went off most of the meds. I also started meditating 40+ minutes a day. After 3 months I was no longer depressed, and in a year and a half I'd easily lost 60 lbs. Over the following years I did many things to learn to love and take care of myself better (12-Step groups and Inner Bonding and I continued therapy until I realized I didn't need it anymore). NOW, at almost 80, is the happiest time of my life. After the Dialysis prognosis, I'd become an activist, and I research everything very deeply - depending on myself to understand what is true and what is false.
Your story sounds very similar to mine. I got off all the medications I was on through yoga, meditation, and a healthier diet. I am 53 now and am going to school to be able to help others. Our gut is our main brain- telling the other one what to do, so when our gut is healthy, not only will our body become healthy, but our mind will as well!
You ladies inspire me I’m 35 and trying to find my authentic self, learning to unlearn and reprogramming my beliefs along with finding my voice and healing my body. Sometimes it feels endless and I get discouraged but just seeing this helps me understand that the process is a journey and it all counts. Thank you both!

I have been alone most of my life and still stand alone without family, friends or a man! God blessed me to own my home, my car, bank account and I am very blessed to be beautiful and blessed. I have five beautiful grandchildren and two grown children, my daughter is blessed like me and she also stand's alone, no children, don't need a man, my grandchildren are my son's children, I give God all the glory and praise's! I do have a dog, 14 years old and I laugh when he ignores me, Hallelujah, only God can give me this blessed and alone life!
Absolutely powerful! My husband passed away about 18 years ago. It was the most difficult time of my life, because my whole world evolved around him. We had just welcomed a new baby who was only three months old, when this happened. I went through lots of different emotions, honestly believing that I would probably die within a few days from the pain of the grief. I didn't just grieve for me, but also for my little kids, who were too young to understand, why they would never see their father again. Healing didn't come over night, it also came with trial and error. My kids are all adults now and when I reflect on my life, I realize that the best thing that I ever did for myself, was to separate from the crowd, and get to know me. At first the separation was uncomfortable, and then, my confidence in being on my own grew. I was alone but not lonely. I intentionally didn't date, because I wanted the freedom to experience me. We all get caught up with each other, doing so much with everyone one else, but we somehow don't ever take time out to get to know ourselves. I'm 61 now, and when I look in the mirror, I say "DAMN! I wish I knew ME back then, like I know me now❤ sometimes, we thrive on our own and age gracefully, because the process teaches us to sit still. If we don't take time to sit still, we can end up missing important, beautiful, little things in life. It's those little things that your not gonna be able to see when you in a crowd. Have you ever wondered why older people can sit in a chair on the porch and slowly and contently sip on a cup of their favorite tea without wanting to be anywhere else, but right where they are? Its a very interesting topic, but I think I'll stop right here, cos I might just write a book. 🙏😌

After being in two marriages that spanned 25 years of my life, at 47 I am thrilled to walk alone and rely on myself. I have no desire to be in a relationship or develop shallow friendships. I love my solitude and my peace too much. I also prefer not to have to explain myself, why I do what I do, why its out of the “norm” etc etc. Ive never been a follower, I forge my own path, always have, and the vast majority of people simply cant wrap their heads around it. Being alone is empowering, enchanting and fulfilling to me on so many levels ❤️

Praise God, thank you! I thought I was losing my mind. I have never fit in anywhere not even with my sisters. I’ve been labeled the loner by my oldest sister. Always attracted by my husband’s brother wife. Never had a best friend or a true friend at all. I have made mistakes and have owned up to most of them. The problem is they don’t own up to their mistakes. I love myself and I’ve tried to get alone but something was always missing, trust and honesty. You try to trust them but they wait in waiting to turn on you!! No more I’ve got the enter strength now. This just confirmed my morning devotion!! Am truly alright with me. Thank you!!!

As a young woman, I realized I don't need friends they need me. I feel safer when I'm alone. I can trust and believe in myself therefore I'm never let down. It's a freedom many don't understand. I like who I am, I'm loyal because at the end of the day, the mirror stares back at me.

I’m 58 and for most of my life, I have been alone. This allowed me to open up my dog rescue and it’s been 7 years of me forging forward with my own journey and purpose. Saved hundreds of dogs and it has brought me peace and joy knowing I am doing what I love and was meant to do.

I chose to be alone because when I realized that the relationships that I cherished worked as long as I was the one giving. Be it financially or emotionally. It was a painful realization, but any true relationship should be equal in give and take. If you're the only one giving, that's not a real friendship. Realizing that hurt like hell but it was an eye-opening experience. I'd rather have peace of mind and heart than be taken advantage of or having people think they found the perfect fool. Any relationship has MUTUAL respect, or it isn't a true relationship at all. In being alone, I've regained my dignity and self-respect, and for me, that's priceless.

I had 30 years of extremely severe depression and anxiety, during which I was fired or let from 35 jobs (since my brain wouldn't work and I was afraid of people). My only option was codependency: I would listen to people unendingly, never sharing my thoughts or feelings. In 2004 I was told I had 2 years to Dialysis (which was due to all the meds for depression and anxiety they'd kept increasing, but which didn't work). I had to research into Europe to learn that I needed to switch to an ALL-ORGANIC WHOLE FOOD DIET, and I went off most of the meds. I also started meditating 40+ minutes a day. After 3 months I was no longer depressed, and in a year and a half I'd easily lost 60 lbs. Over the following years I did many things to learn to love and take care of myself better (12-Step groups and Inner Bonding and I continued therapy until I realized I didn't need it anymore). NOW, at almost 80, is the happiest time of my life. After the Dialysis prognosis, I'd become an activist, and I research everything very deeply - depending on myself to understand what is true and what is false.
Your story sounds very similar to mine. I got off all the medications I was on through yoga, meditation, and a healthier diet. I am 53 now and am going to school to be able to help others. Our gut is our main brain- telling the other one what to do, so when our gut is healthy, not only will our body become healthy, but our mind will as well!

Absolutely powerful! My husband passed away about 18 years ago. It was the most difficult time of my life, because my whole world evolved around him. We had just welcomed a new baby who was only three months old, when this happened. I went through lots of different emotions, honestly believing that I would probably die within a few days from the pain of the grief. I didn't just grieve for me, but also for my little kids, who were too young to understand, why they would never see their father again. Healing didn't come over night, it also came with trial and error. My kids are all adults now and when I reflect on my life, I realize that the best thing that I ever did for myself, was to separate from the crowd, and get to know me. At first the separation was uncomfortable, and then, my confidence in being on my own grew. I was alone but not lonely. I intentionally didn't date, because I wanted the freedom to experience me. We all get caught up with each other, doing so much with everyone one else, but we somehow don't ever take time out to get to know ourselves. I'm 61 now, and when I look in the mirror, I say "DAMN! I wish I knew ME back then, like I know me now❤ sometimes, we thrive on our own and age gracefully, because the process teaches us to sit still. If we don't take time to sit still, we can end up missing important, beautiful, little things in life. It's those little things that your not gonna be able to see when you in a crowd. Have you ever wondered why older people can sit in a chair on the porch and slowly and contently sip on a cup of their favorite tea without wanting to be anywhere else, but right where they are?
Its a very interesting topic, but I think I'll stop right here, cos I might just write a book. 🙏😌

Praise God, thank you! I thought I was losing my mind. I have never fit in anywhere not even with my sisters. I’ve been labeled the loner by my oldest sister. Always attracted by my husband’s brother wife. Never had a best friend or a true friend at all. I have made mistakes and have owned up to most of them. The problem is they don’t own up to their mistakes. I love myself and I’ve tried to get alone but something was always missing, trust and honesty.
