I NEVER get tired of The Rascals aka The Young Rascals. All their songs are very groovy. (as we used to say lol) I was 13 when this song came out. ✌
I nevver once said "groovy."
My absolute favorite Rascals song
One very underrated 60s band. Their "Its A Beautiful Morning" is the greatest Saturday/Sunday song ever. Give it a listen. 👌
Asia & BJ, you'll love their "People Got to Be Free", "Good Lovin' " and "Groovin' "!!
Love your comments and how you appreciate this music! You are right, it is beautiful music!❤ Try Listening to "How Can I be Sure" It is another really great song by the Rascals
Very STRONG Motown Influence in this one. Felix Cavalarr had a SOULFUL voice!
This is sixties band, hippies, pop no dress up ! Great group played into the seventies." it's A Beautiful Morning" another beautiful song by this group The Young Rascals to just The Rascals again great group.
First time I ever heard the rascals 1967, at the beach on a portable radio. This is my growing up years that graduated from high school. What great memories, and the good music to go along with it!
If listening to a song by the Rascals/Young Rascals doesn't make you feel better, nothing will!
I didn't see other songs on your Playlist but if you haven't already, I think you'd LOVE all of the following magical tunes from this exceedingly talented group:
It's a Beautiful Morning
Groovin'
How Can I Be Sure
People Got to Be Free
Lonely Too Long
Good Lovin'
Want a great evening? Settle in and listen to them one after the other!
Great list, but I would recommend they listen to these in reverse order.....I think people like to hear the rockers first, then get to the more mellow ones!
Asia and BJ, the 60’s are a goldmine of hits 🔥 Keep on the journey👊🏻
❤❤
Great reaction you guys! I love it when younger generations appreciate music from the 60's. It really was a revolutionary time in many ways.
Glad you enjoyed it
Oh yes , the music of my youth. These guys were smooth as heck when I was in high school . Im now about to turn 72 , and it still sounds great today.
Great time to grow up .all we had was am radio, but they'd be playing these hits 1after another 😊. Thanks for memories.
The Rascals, formerly, "The Young Rascals," had a sound similar to the "Motown Sound," but they weren't trying to copy it, it's just that soul is soul, and they had it. Great 60s Band. So many hit songs. Good memories for us 65 and overs.
God Bless
Soul music is based in feelings and feelings never go out of style. Great song choice and reaction.
One of the first "blue-eyed soul" bands; still love 'em. Hearing them on the radio when I was about 11 opened up a new world, in a way :)
What a great band they were . A girl like you one of my favorites.
I saw the Rascals live and they were fabulous. 😊
My son is in “Groovin, a tribute to the Rascals”. They’re 14-17 years old. They perform sometimes with Eddie Brigati from the Young Rascals. It would be crazy if you guys would hear a song from them.
Another one of the great 60's groups. They started out as "The Young Rascals" but later were just known as "The Rascals". They were considered rock & blue-eyed soul. They had a lot of hits such as "How Can I Be Sure", "I Ain't Gonna Eat Out My Heart Anymore", "You Better Run", "I've Been Lonely Too Long", "Good Lovin'", "People Got To Be Free", "A Beautiful Morning", "It's Wonderful" etc.
LITTLE RASCALS HAD SOME GREAT HITS!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥👍👍👍👍🎹🎹🎹🎸🎸🎸🎤🎤🎤👍👍
"COME ON UP"
"I AIN'T GONNA EAT OUT MY HEART ANYMORE"
"GROOVIN'"
"LONELY TOO LONG"
"GOOD LOVIN'"
"YOU BETTER RUN"
"PEOPLE GOT TO BE FREE"👍👍👍👍❤❤❤❤
They weren't the Little Rascals. They were the Young Rascals and the the Rascals!
Real "feel good" music! The Rascals/Young Rascals have a number of great hits like this. Got to see them as they were starting out, still playing small gigs. It was a private function, they were VERY young, but had swag even then. Thanks for your reaction.
BJ, your comment about describing a man's love for a woman is spot on. ❤
They were a great band from the sixties. Their drummer, Dino Danelli, is a top tier drummer. I recommend reacting to The Young Rascals playing Been Lonely Too Long on the Ed Sullivan Show. It showcases Dino. Another is when they sang Mickey’s Monkey on the Ed Sullivan Show.
The greatest blue eyed soul band of all time. Try them doing "Lonely Too Long", "How Can I Be Sure", "Good Lovin' ", and of course "Groovin' ", their giant hit.
The Lovin' Spoonful is another great group
This is a "desert island" band for me. If I were marooned on an island and could only have three albums, one of them would HAVE to be The Rascals. A favorite band for 55 years.
The 60's & 70's had some great music. Awesome reaction.
Yes! Thank you!
if you don't know who these guys are...dig in, they're sooooooo good!!
The session studio musicians are Outstanding, true professionals!.
Growing up you look for something different than your parents stuff to become an individual . Later when you become YOU and not just their child its then ok to LISTEN. I have always said there is a difference between HEARING and LISTENING. PLUS. Lets admit it. This stuff is BETTER! LOL Growing up in this era, I couldn't wait to get up the next day and turn on the radio to hear what would be new and mind blowing.
Felix Cavaliere is one of the greatest singers ever. Their in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame and surely deserve being there. Eddy Brigatti another great singer is in the group tho Felix mostly takes lead. Very many good songs. Groovin, Good Loving(probably their biggest hit), People gotta be Free, I've been Lonely too Long. Eddy sang How can I be Sure, great song!!
MUSIC CROSSES LINES OF EVERY KIND❤❤❤
A RAY OF HOPE, MY WORLD. THE YOUNG RASCALS.
Good for you, BJ! You've got it. Really insightful!
I liked BJ’s reaction to singing at the start of the song “we are talking about 1967”
Find some live footage of the Rascals and check out the style of their drummer, Dino Danelli. One Sharp Man! RIP Dino.
Incredible love song, epic!
So glad that you finally found these guys. What a great rabbit hole to go down! Check out more from them. A great example of blue eyed soul! They definitely got it goin on.
My very 1st concert...I was 12. 😊❤
Asia, BJ, the young rascals, had all kinds of soul. Check out good Lovin by them.
Blue eyed soul at its best!
how can i be sure!! sung by eddie brigati of the rascals
Nice hearing your experiences.
I remember when this song came out. I was 12 years old. Check out "It's a beautiful morning" and "Groovin"
They are so great…check out their songs…midnight hour, slow down, ain’t gonna eat out my heart anymore, and probably one of their best is love is a beautiful thing
This Album Time Piece is such a great album of my childhood. I wore it out. I need another copy to spin.
There's a good version of it on The Ed Sullivan Show that was our internet
RIP DINO DANELI A GREAT DRUMMER
The further back you go, the music is cooler. BTW, 1967 is full of incredible songs. Perhaps the best year in music.
You absolutely nailed it - “that’s how a guy feels about a girl”
Dynamic Duo! Please react to more great songs by this Hall of Fame group. Felix Cavaliere is one of the greatest singers and still performing
Check out some of their appearances on the Ed Sullivan Show ..The lead singer , keyboard player Felix Cavaliere was from Pelham, NY ..BJ is correct the time was school dances , and summer days ..Great Band with many hits
LOTTA LOVE IN 60'S...❤❤❤❤ THEY JUST DON'T WRITE LOVE SONGS LIKE THAT ANYMORE!!❤❤
Check out Lonely Too Long by The Young Rascals
Yeah, If you were ever looking to warm up a girl back in the day, The Rascals & Van Morrison were always a sure bet.
" May,I have this dance"(Class of 71)
The first band i saw in concert when I was 14.
This band was also classified as rhythm and blues
I never heard this song before and did not know there were two songs with this title. The Smithereens had a song also called A Girl Like You. Sounds COMPLETELY different from this song.
HarriBest said he could picture Marvin Gaye singing this as it's very Motownish
Go down this rabbit hole...now!!! haha
They started out as The Young Rascals and later became The Rascals. The album cover you have as your thumbnail is Time Piece one of the Greatest albums of all time. You need to check out and react to other songs on this masterpiece.
Sixties were great, 67 was the best, and this is an example.. Try "good Lovin' " from the ed Sullivan show and watch an amazing drummer!
Naaa Asia! You are thinking of the 50's. 67 was hippy time. This is "Blue eyed Soul". People mainly freeform danced. Though their was "The Jerk" The Swim" The Monkey" that some would learn. We just let the music take us. "Let your freak flag fly" and all that.
Thats why it was called "grown folks music" 😂
LOL,..what's ironic is that label was only applied later, at the time it was young people's music.
@@bohem5568 truth !!! & I've been clickin old skools jammyjams all mornin 😉
Nothing comes close to the music of my youth Nothing. All talent
Asia is thinking of the 50s
One of my favorite groups, they have a lot of hits…” Groovin “ so many more!👍👏👏👏🩵💖
Blue eyed soul at its best!
