R.I.P. Dino Danelli. He has been called "one of the great unappreciated rock drummers in history". He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997 with the Rascals.
At least they were inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. One of my favorite groups ever along with CCR and 3 Dog Night It's a travesty Tommy James & Shondells are waiting since 91 to get in.
Next song Good Lovin on the Ed Sullivan show. This is not a lip sync this is them playing live on the most popular show in America. You ll get to see the raw energy and excitement these guys bring.
Felix Cavalieri----------Dino Danelli--------Eddie Brigati-------Gene Cornish ---------The Rascals.-----------------Summer of '68--------my favorite by these guys ! -------------MJL, 76 y/o
One of their last songs is ' 'A Rainy Day' very melodic, heartfelt song. Give is a sample try. Thank you for playing their music. One of the best groups ever. Songs full of meaning, love, upbeat, feelgood vibes.
Love anything by The Rascals. Good Lovin is one of my all time favorites. Their songs remind me of a simpler time. Thank you for your great reaction. 👏👏👏👏👏
If you love the Young Rascals, you'll also love the Soul Survivors' "Expressway To Your Heart" -- which peaked at #4 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1967. They were another blue-eyed-soul group and sound nearly identical to the Young Rascals.
Definitely I'm baffled that was never reacted to by anyone. I believe their follow up song was Explosion in yr Soul was quite good. Expressway to yr Heart is one of my favorite songs ever
@@amb6899 True, reactors rarely do under-the-surface gems -- and there are so many of them (another is 1967's "Little Bit O'Soul" by the Music Explosion). They would need somebody knowledgeable of music history to feed them the songs.
You are smart to target the Baby Boomer generation now in their 60's and 70's who have time to reminisce music from their teen music years. A huge audience for you to visit and appreciate.
Hello Shawn n Mel from Ned in Spain. You guys are so lovely, especially when your reaction relates to your feelings for each other. Congrats on 16 years and many more. Those Rascals had a whole lotta soul. One of my favorite things about this song is that bass doing those twisty walking lines I think by guitarist Gene Cornish on double duty. They were all so talented and knew how to write grown up songs of love, admiration and heartbreak as well as ripping rockers. I think you would love a Turtles song called " You Showed Me" that you might recognize as a sample. Abrazos fuertes y salud guapo y guapa
You know the love you're feeling is real when love songs suddenly have meaning. They're not just words and music. And your every waking hour is filled with warm feelings and thoughts of being together. But you can still do what you need to do in your life and do it effectively.
I fell in love with these guys when I was in college way back decades ago ! Try "How Can I Be Sure," or "It's a Beautiful Morning!" Just subscribed ! Both of you are awesome! ✌👍🙏
I’ve said it before and i will say it again….it really sucks getting old but i grew up in a magical time for music and i wouldn’t trade it for anything! Great band, great song and another great reaction. Thank you!
Catch their live performance of this gr8 song on the Ed Sullivan show's video. Felix's soulful vocals & Eddie & Gene's backups are amazing! And Dino's drumming is a clinic in its self! Aloha.
Hey Shawn and Mel. The Rascals were an early example of so-called "Blue-Eyed Soul' I saw them live here in NYC back in the day and they were great! If you were in a cover band like I was, you had to do some Rascals songs. So glad you reacted to this one and keep on doing your reactions. Peace.
This is my all time favorite Rascals song. That's saying alot since I love all their music. I can't think of one of their songs that I didn't like. Felix's voice was amazing.
The Rascals were great musicians as well as singers .I saw Felix Cavalieri (lead siger, keyboard ) in 1987 Grant Park Chicago with Tommy James { Both were doing solo gigs, great show!
Hey, I love you guys, and as always, I enjoy your reactions, the best on RUclips! I enjoy being a member of the S&M Squad. Hey guys, what about Grooving? Grooving ( on a Sunday afternoon)
COME ON UP....DON'T EAT MY HEART ANYMORE...
Sometimes music is so good, it takes your breath away. The Rascals are a uniquely great American band. Love and respect💖
The world would be a better place if more couples were like you two.
You two are so happy😊
Check out "I've Been Lonely Too Long." They put the blue eye in the soul on that one.

Best dammed song you ever heard...
Best underdog group of the 60's
"Eddie on Vocals. That whole Album, "The Young Rascals" is a Banger!
The soulful Felix Cavaliere is the lead on this song. Saw the live Ed Sullivan video. Amazing! They set the bar so high on live performances.
@@jo-annkawakami3373 You are correct, but let us not forget the great Eddie Brigati who did lead vocals on other Rascals' songs.
@@zunbake3 OMG, yes! He sang lead on a lot of their gr8 hits. No one can beat him on specifically " How Can I Be Sure ". Wow!
@Jo-Ann Kawakami That whole Album is one of the greatest of all time! Gene Cornish also sang lead on a song or two.
@@zunbake3 Amen!

I love how emotional Shawn gets over this song and relates how much he loves Mel. Now lets flip the script , do the Gwen McCrae song "Rockin Chair" .
I'm sick of telling the you two how cool you are
They are the epitome of Jersey working class blue eyed soul.
Please do Baby Let’s Wait by the Rascals..you know they have too many perfect songs you just gotta keep going down this rabbit hole. Awesome reaction!
It's good to listen to real music!
morning girl , The neon philharmonic
Every song they came out with was a winner. Their vocals were the best !
Shawn, you're a lucky guy.
I can also see it live on The Ed Sullivan Show

Very versatile group every one of their songs is different from the one before but all very good
I love the way Shaun Cassidy covered this on his 2nd album Born Late.
My sister had this album! If memory serves, Sean did a cover of Do you believe in magic by the Lovin' Spoonful. Aaah, the memories!👍😎
Thank you.The Rascals have many great songs.Listen to For Once in My Life by Stevie Wonder.
Check out the Troggs "Wild Thing" Tommy James and the Shondells "Crystal blue persuasion"
This is my all time favorite Rascals song. That's saying alot since I love all their music. I can't think of one of their songs that I didn't like. Felix's voice was amazing.
And the way he hammers down-romantically and forcefully-words he’s emoting. (Heck, I even sing along.)😄
Thank you for The Rascals finest song.

How can I be sure play that!!!!

Nice reaction. Please check out The Rascals' song "A Ray of Hope".
Try Stormy by Classic 5
The best version is DJ Clay it was done in the recording studio
FYI If you react to "Good Lovin" do the studio version not the live TV version.
You picked my song!😊
Felix Cavalari's voice is still strong and beautiful. The Young Rascals song, "How Can I Be Sure" is a beautiful song that will also melt your heart.
