The aesthetic of the tower, the clear Doctor Who influences (as confirmed by the author), the reveal that this whole thing was caused by an echo chamber of three separate plans fucking up at once… I’d put this one in my top 50 SCPs of all time easily, maybe even top 20.

I hate my brain. The fact that "curiosity killed the cat" is so prominent does it's best to ruin this story for me. A pet peeve of mine is being strongly adverse to misquoted qoutes/ missed used qoutes. Curiosity killed the cat but satisfaction brought it back, is the full line. Just as "blood is thicker than water" is a misrepresentation as the original was ment to mean the exact opposite. Relationships you choose to build are stronger than ones forced on you by birth, hence the real saying "the blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb".
But as for the videos on the hole... another awesome narration of some fine scp content! Can't wait to see where we go next (lore world wise)

Only War is good for that kind of long form 40k stories too.
Another good storyteller of the 40k universe is A Vox in The Void.
And if you want a mix of outright comedy and serious drama Baldermort will keep you entertained for days with his grandfatherly voice.
For lore: Leutin09 if you want long and detailed.
      Weshammer for just great stuff.
Majorkill if you want brief 10 minutes videos and don't mind the odd edgy joke, as humor is subjective and he really enjoys poking fun at 40k (because it is silly satire) while also loving it.
Adeptus redicolous if you want entertainment over accuracy, and everything eventually drawn as an anime Waifu.

The modern Foundation looks at Project Rook as an example of something you NOT supposed to do. As for the AI, yeah it's probably toast. I think you need to really throw some unique curveballs with the idea. Be ambitious. Respect the original concept of the SCPs, but don’t be afraid to show personality with some of the logs. And try to go for some more obscure or unexpected ones. Especially focus on those that would have something to say. Maybe to a family member, a loved one, or a truly despised enemy.

The name of the town in this story literally means Domain of the Dragon or Dragon's Domain. The AI styles itself as a dragon with no St. George to end it. Good story, with twists and who is to be trusted, and why or perhaps better - why not. An insane AI with a town obeying it. One wonders what the AI wants?

I think I missed something. How did the foundation forget about this? It's just that the O5 council covered it up, and somehow allowed research to be done anyway?

Imagine creating a mind controlled village after being told no, years later it fucks up (surprisingly enough), two efficient tactical teams die and the only thing you do us sending a memo saying:
"We sowwy will do better next time" LMFAO fucking O5 shenanigans

I find it funny that all 3 parties involved all went behind eachothers backs to put a personality core in, only to make it go crazy and try kill them all.

  • @ThompsonGrey
    @ThompsonGrey Год назад +2

The three personality matrixs made up the Id Ego and Super Ego of the AI. You never, under any circumstances want any level of AI to send a message that says I AM. You want a god complex, because that's how you get a god complex

Interesting... The biggest takeaway for me from this SCP is: Think of long term consequences.
And I mean THINK. You really need to stop... slow down... and THINK of the long term implications of every action taken...
You can make a seemingly "no big deal" choice now, but it can sway an entire society to look like something completely different in 200 years.
In this SCP's case? They created an anomaly that, if it had more advanced technological capabilities, could have been far, FAR worse.
