@DEEPFOXJUDE Null island is a fictional island in our reality that supposedly exists at 0 latitude and 0 longitude, which is in the deep ocean off the coast of Africa. When an entry in a database needs a location, but the user has none, it typically is filled in with 0,0. This location is jokingly referred to as Null island, because everything without a location is supposedly located there. The word null is used to imply that the data does not exist. You can read up more on the wikipedia page for 'Null island'.
Out of the series 6000 SCPs you've covered, this is the one I like the most so far. It doesn't feel like it fell into the other issues some of the other ones fell into, this feels like a more "normal" SCP. The Foundation doesn't act dumb, the people involved act more or less what I expect out of SCP personnel, and it's a bit creepy. Lovely.
I would like, just once, to have an ancient prophecy or explanatory myth which only rhymes in its original language, not in English. I'd love to hear the SCP Foundation Translator try to find a good English rhyme for the first couple of words, and then give up because their job is to provide a working translation, not a work of art.
This is standard in scientifically accurate linguistic translations of, for example, texts from the Middle Ages: due to graphematic and phonetic standardization and other changes of that nature, attempting to preserve rhymes often leads to contextually/semantically inaccurate expressions. I can see the SCP-Foundation, however, use several versions, side by side: since anomalous objects and phrases are...weird, I could see the preservation of rhetorical tools used in those texts become more important than rhymes are, in linguistic translations, nowadays. Language is also power, in the SCP-universe.
Theory: the stone drawings show the nightfolk and later Adam El Asem (gray crown) and the lighthouse was the apple tree. The island is Eden (a "paradise" but abandoned). Would also make sense as the lighthouse (which I believe is the apple tree from Eden) is compared to the shelves of the wanderers library, associated with the serpent, another Eden tie in. And "the garden is the serpent's place" So if the island is Eden, the Tower could contain the serpent as it can't understood (again a reference to the serpent's association with knowledge). So basically it could be a kaktusverse tie in

While the chances of living a long life will most-likely be around 0, being part of an MTF/exploration team must be the best thing you could ever do. Just the thought of getting sent to something like that, a mysterious place that no one knows anything at all about, being one of the first persons to set foot there and explore it. 34:10 Ok so at this point, here's been my feelings about this SCP. *At first:* Ooooh interesting. *Early - mid:* Ok, getting a bit artsy fartsy... *Mid - late:* Actually brought me back and got me intrigued again. Props, for real. Rarely when something loses me does it get me back. But there's just so much intrigue here. *Toward the end of the story:* Holy crap, did this SCP have a subtle message of, "Yo, overworking employees and crunch time is absolute butt cancer. Stop over-working your employees and giving them disrespect and TURD pay in return." Props, I really enjoyed this one! 16:00 This part is still frustrating though... This is one of the artsy fartsy moments I was referring too. Like ok Rosa, chill, the tower is very clearly THERE. If it scares you fine, but don't hit me with the r/im14AndDeep talk.
This is shouting into the void, but... if you weren't already planning on it, I'd love to suggest covering the Department of Acroamatic Abatement. Not only are its constituent parts tightly knotted together into an interesting whole (yet still maintain a personal story arc), but it has several good tales associated with it too. Also, "abatement" is a fantastic word that doesn't get nearly enough usage. YOU'RE NEXT, ABLATIVE.
SCP-6003, “Rosa. You wanna leave? You don’t have to join us, but we’d like it if you did… it’s ok, you can go. No forgiveness or sorry’s Rosa, it’s just what you want to do, so do it. No hard feelings.”
Rosa must be a fae or of the fair folk or has them in her ancestry for her to be the only one to have both the Instinct and intuition to come to the idea of leaving said island. I'm especially convinced because she made mention that she did not want to dissappear like the previous inhabitants.
This reminds me of any normal IT job where you're overworked, see no end to work as projects keep piling up. Your team asks you when it will end and you don't have an answer. Your higher ups dont give you additional resources and ask your team to continue to overwork.
"From researchers working with unpredictable and deadly phenomena, to MTF agents sent in to contain a rampaging monster, to your everyday containment breaches, your average Foundation personnell has to deal with a tremendous amount of stress" - and that's assuming you don't get demoted to D-class. That's a whole new level of potential awfulness that nobody else has to deal with on their job.
The way the island drained color and then killed things makes me think of the Var-whatsits from "The Beasts of Old Letters." Maybe a similar entity, but without the species of critters around to directly serve it?
"Researchers are getting injured and becoming a feral burnt out creature that work 100 hours a week and drink more espresso than water" Sounds familiar...
The vibes of this SCP reminds me of the game No One Lives Under the Lighthouse, which is my favorite piece of lighthouse horror. definitely recommend it if you enjoyed this SCP
"Living things age and dead things decay, while this does neither"
Me talking about the microplastics coursing through my body
For how little the MTF teams get actual coverage on their training, tactics, recruitment, and gear. Proposals sure do make their team name sound cool.
Yeah, am jealous on how they do it.

5:10, 30:15, and 32:11: Yay, more verbatim dialogues.
23:13: Always with the understatements.
Yeah, try to nuke the island. Even if it does destroy the anomaly, how are you going to excuse such a catastrophe?
41:05: Break it down and recap things, will you?
Plus how do they know that nuking the lighthouse won’t just piss off whatever power is in control of it?
*Site staff:* "We're burnt out, stressed, and going insane. At this rate we're going to either mutiny, desert, or kill each other. Please for the love of God can't you spare even one extra fucking person?"
*Foundation:* Sorry man, economy's bad, you know how it is... D E N I E D
It's one in the morning over here and You just gave me the perfect thing to hear, thanks dude!
Every week boyo
Love these longer videos
Was it just me or was that ending weirdly comforting? Like you gained just as much clarity as he did and felt at peace with the state of the island?
Kept refreshing each minute for this. Can finally sleep.
Same
I liked how the background images in the video started off in colour but were more muted and black and white later on. Nice artistic parallel with the lighthouse taking the colour out of everything. :)
Dude, I want to know that you’re reading this, the ambient wind sounds were an AMAZING touch, I sat outside on my deck in the afternoon sun listening to this and I’m telling you right now, this is some of your best work yet, I’m not even finished listening yet and the only thing that could improve it is you actually role playing like in that detective story a while back. Just stunning work, really enjoyed it
i love your channel so much man. i literally havnt even finished half of this video, because i often put your videos on to go to sleep, and ive dozed off so quickly so many times to just this one. keep up the good work, i appreciate you and how much effort you put into these videos.
Your videos may not cure my depression, but damn do they give me something pleasant to do when I’m sad
Stay strong Ari

@@nathanxxvii mnestics would be a bettet choice I think :p
@@arionerron4273 who wants to remember their depression? 🤡
Love the SCP content. I have played Warhammer a couple of times, but the SCP Foundation has some pretty crazy, scary stuff that feels a little closer to home. I just love it, and all the work you do. Thank you
34:10 Ok so at this point, here's been my feelings about this SCP.
Stop over-working your employees and giving them disrespect and TURD pay in return."
Props, I really enjoyed this one!
16:00 This part is still frustrating though... This is one of the artsy fartsy moments I was referring too. Like ok Rosa, chill, the tower is very clearly THERE. If it scares you fine, but don't hit me with the r/im14AndDeep talk.
made my day
This is shouting into the void, but... if you weren't already planning on it, I'd love to suggest covering the Department of Acroamatic Abatement. Not only are its constituent parts tightly knotted together into an interesting whole (yet still maintain a personal story arc), but it has several good tales associated with it too. Also, "abatement" is a fantastic word that doesn't get nearly enough usage. YOU'RE NEXT, ABLATIVE.
So I listen to these when I’m at work I work night shift at a grocer and this one kinda creeped me out
The foundation finds a letter saying NOPE STAY THE FUCK OUT
the foundation "LETS FUCKIN GO"
i love u😁 i love drifting away into a story every time one of these longer videos goes up.
A lot of 6000s recently, Gota say I love it!
Great start to the day (just after midnight)
This reminds me of any normal IT job where you're overworked, see no end to work as projects keep piling up. Your team asks you when it will end and you don't have an answer. Your higher ups dont give you additional resources and ask your team to continue to overwork.
Well, guess I won't be sleeping for the next 3/4th of an hour! Thanks for the video, I always love these.
Thank you for the video. Always a pleasure.
"Researchers are getting injured and becoming a feral burnt out creature that work 100 hours a week and drink more espresso than water"
Sounds familiar...
Great narration every clip super good
You know the poem or story whatever that was kind of reminds me of the inscription on the stone in the story a quiet madness made.
I was getting ready for a colossus showing up to crush MTFs like insects. But at the end it was the complete oposite: a land of eternal nap time.
2018's The Lighthouse. Nuff said.
The order of the anomalous activity seems strange. Sinister looking seagulls.... BLEEDING TAPS
12:35 when he says RUINS cracks me up. You can tell its where he spliced together some of the video but its still funny.
The vibes of this SCP reminds me of the game No One Lives Under the Lighthouse, which is my favorite piece of lighthouse horror. definitely recommend it if you enjoyed this SCP
Cant wait for 6140 and 6500, so many differing styles in this series, all of them fantastic.
SCP-6003 - *T H E B A C O N*
Just got out of work so perfect for the ride home
Annihilation, Solomon Kane, etc.
Basically any movie with a Lighthouse.
Abbadon, and the Tower of Babel.
