I am an American women and I enjoying trying out new recipes. I have a couple middle eastern friends and they rave about shawarma so I decided to try this recipe and see what the hype is about. This has quickly become a staple in my house. I absolutely love it! I made your toum recipe as well and serve my shawarma with the beef, toum, french fries, and lettuce/spinach and parsley. Sooo delicious!
I‘m also an American and I’m going to make this tonight. I love trying different foods. This recipe looks very simple and delicious. You make it look super easy and you explain what you doing step by step. I’m going to the grocery in a few minutes to grab the ingredients. Thank you.
As a fellow RUclips cooking American with Lebanese mom and Iraqi dad I’ve cooked nearly all Lebanese food except this! Wow you did a great job explaining. I’m going to do this for 50 people and I needed to see it done. Thank you! Brad

😍 I love shawarma sooo much! It's really popular in Ukraine, where I'm from. Falafel is awesome, too. I love Arabic/Turkish/Middle-Eastern street food 😆 Georgian bakery is extremely good, too. We're lucky with some of our neighbors, I guess.
@@joyceobeys6818 You think so? At least in Ukraine, both Shawarma and Georgian bakery are really widespread as street food. Mostly it's hot dog + shawarma offer, often with falafel as an option. Georgian bakery is a bit less widespread, but still you can find some options not too far away. At least in big cities that's what we have.
Thanks for sharing your amazing recipe. I am not sure what are the quantities for spices. In your video it seems like you are using a teaspoon for each: salt, allspice, ground cloves, cumin, Cardamom, cinnamon, paprika, oregano totaling about 2 tablespoons. Can you please provide exact measurements? Thank you so much.
If one is using left over steak, would one just spice it up and fry it to absorb the spices and heat it, Would one still use the vinegar and lemon juice? Would it help to marinate the already cooked (plain) meat?
I am from the area and am always on a hunt for good Middle Eastern stores in Dearborn. Could you, please, mention the nam and/address where I can buy this pita bread! Thank you for this yummy looking recipe

Thank you for posting this recipe. There are a lot of incorrect recipes out there which use yogurt. When I lived in the Middle East for 20 years, I was pretty sure there was no yogurt in it, and people here are creating their own concoction because they like cheese and yogurt and everything. Everything. Thank you for keeping it real.

How did u cook the meat? Just put it in the pan, close lid for 7-10 min? Is that correct? What heat setting to use? Medium?
Great video. Thanks

How many teaspoon is each spice, and how many hours do we marinate it for?
Looks perfect

Can you marinate the meat before slicing it? I have a few larger pieces of flap meat
Salaams, does the mix spices have nutmeg?
What brands do you recommend for shawarma seasoning?
Can you use a smaller wisk lol ?? But that looks awesome. Good job .
Yeah, you can! Thank you 💛
Yumna does the flank stay soft? can I broil the meat
Yes, it does! You could try, but it might not be as juicy.

The real shawarma doesn't't have tomatoes, black pepper, cardamom and cloves..those are Indian seasonings later adopted.. also tomato is mexican

i prefer if the meat was at least grilled a little to taste like original recipe, personal opinion! still your video is an excellent one!
For how long does the tahini sauce last when u make it fresh?
The sauce will last up to 2 weeks in the fridge or 3 months in the freezer if kept in an airtight container.
I’m just confused is it tablespoons and teaspoons please give me details on that

Is Lebanese seven spice and all spice are the same?
All spice isn't a blend. It's a spice on its own. Tastes like a very fancy cinnamon.
What are the purple things called?
Can you make me one without tomatoe pls
What do you mean by all spice
Merci merci
Brb gonna make this fell into my face, along with a slice of Apple and 3 litres of water
What pickles do you use? I find them so hard to replicate :)
These are Middle Eastern style pickles!
It's just pickled cucumber and carrots they use in a shawarma.
